So you're the one who shot this video of my lady with your drone. Brother...I spent 4 years on her. Maintaining, painting, standing watch, steering her in the Persian Gulf and all over. Watching his video with the music you chose and looking at her I am reminded of all the great times spent on her. I even tear up a bit. Thanks Tommy. On behalf of all fellow USS Ranger Veterans ...Beers on me next time I'm down on the Island.
Such a sad way for a once mighty warrior to meet her end ! I am proud & very grateful to have served on Ranger, i thank her for showing me half the world on 3 deployments! But mostly i thank Ranger for the friendships i forged with several of my shipmates, many of which i will have for a lifetime! Goodbye ol girl , you were a grand & mighty warrior! And THANK YOU RANGER!
Yo thanks for this film job Tommy. I visited the ship once without an invite, which was quite a senstaion for me. Kids! 1988 - Now its gone but still love to see it.
Did two tours with By God CV-61 while attached to Fighter Squadron 2 Bounty Hunters. 89 West Pac and 90-91 Dessert Shield/Dessert Storm. So long Danger Ranger, Top Gun of the fleet.
i did two tours - USN I arrive as an AK striker, and left as AK2 - S6 Division - I was one ot the guys In charge of avionics supply - Was aboard from 1972 through 1975. I am certain that - if you were aboard during that time - you will remember that we lost shipmates during that period. The hardest thing that I ever did was to try to explain to a little girl why her daddy didn't return, and I did. Sure - I was, and I am proud to have served. But my wish is that we can finally advance and evolve as a species so that war, and the need for these huge ships, becomes no longer necessary.
Does anyone know where the ship's bell will go? My daughter was one of less than a dozen children that were christened on the Ranger and their names are all inscribed on the inside lip of the bell.
This is amazing drone footage of The U.S.S. Ranger (CV-61), and speaking for every Ranger Veteran....Thank you.

I reported aboard in 75' she just got back from a Westpac. Totally agree with you Curtis well stated!
Sad to see this. My Father served her from '69-'71. Was hoping she'd be saved.
Always sad to see these fine ships scrapped.
we escorted the Ranger to WESTPAC in the 60's

Served on her from 1959 to 61.... She was the flag ship then...
I am assuming that the Ranger is comming in to be scrapped. Is that true.
@bobbycv64 STOP BEING A HATER. Rangers had it's issues as with ALL carriers including "CONNIE". They're both retired now man let it go...
