    Caution when using that Zep degreaser guys. Make sure you mix it down at least 50/50. 1 gallon of zep to 4 gallons of water is even better. If that stuff hits metal at full strength it will start immediately oxidizing it and turning it black and you've just created a mess for yourself. The only way to get the oxidation off that i found was using scotch brite and a TON of elbow grease.

    “Applying from the top down oh no….It’ll never work”. I don’t know why but I can’t get that out of my head every time I put chemical on a house now.😂. I remember I used to buy into that type of industry snake oil, and I’m glad you like to bring a little humor to it. I literally laughed out loud when you said that in the video last week and then again today at a customers house.

      Applying top down is about concentration levels. When you go bottom up the bottom falls off before the top gets down to the bottom creating a more even coverage across the surface. Top down can cause a higher concentration at the bottom bc you are following the soap down thus introducing the risk of causing streaking bc of concentration levels. We all apply however we are feeling but that’s the science behind the bottom up application

    • @softwashscience
      @softwashscience ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vansage2691 it’s industry snake oil. If people have an issue with streaking, it’s because it flash dries when they didn’t prewet and cool a hot surface, or they did not get full coverage of the surface and full saturation. I understand the concentration levels, but the fact is if that becomes an issue then that’s not actually your issue. It’s just that simple. In the world, the Cleaning, there are many statements I hear from people that everyone claims to be true, but no one actually investigates. Some of my favorites are when people talk about the grain of concrete that’s pretty funny. And people also freak out about SH on wood. Another one is a surface cleaner on wood. I could go on and on and some statements are true, but there are several things you will hear constantly from the mass amount of people in this industry that are simply just not true.

      It all has its time and place whether it matters to apply too down or bottom up. in fleet washing it matters big time - fixable yes. It mostly comes from the OG guys using acid and soap. But it definitely has its place when to apply bottom to top, just not as crucial to follow for organic stain cleaning. End of the day we’re not techno cleaning we’re just disinfecting and sanitizing. Van sage actually made some really good points.

    Awesome Joe, I cleaned a house with soot from a pellet stove on it and just used SH. Turned it orange and scared the scrap out of me but then it rinsed right off. I like Sep as well. Easy to get.

    You make it look so easy. A quick question Mr Derry. Is gutter and metal brightener a degreaser? If not. What is the main chemical by technical name used to brighten metals. And what chemical is used for oxidation. Thanking you in advance ✌️🇦🇺

    Hey. U think using this chemical through an x jet or even down streaming will work on a metal roof? Tried to do one but was struggling to get off all the algae and dirt with just sh. It’ll come right off if u get close to it with the x jet on fan. TY
