Thanks. I was about 18h elapsed time with a 6kg pack. I was fastpacking so ran (slowly) a lot of the flats and downhills and power hiked the hills. I'd say my fitness is pretty good (I spent the 1st 6 months of that year training for a 100mile ultra marathon). Everyone's different and I don't know your level so I can't confirm. But I'd say to allow more time, certainly pack enough food/water for more time and take bivvy equipment just in case. It's a very commiting route, you can't bail out of the route without an equally long walk. It's a great route so maybe more enoughable not to rush.
Hi, sorry I'm not that familiar with the islands on the Loch. Only advise is that the midges can be quite bad lower down in high season unless there's a decent breeze. This was part of my reasoning for camping high. Also from the main parking area at the dam, it isn't too far to an easy entry point into the loch. It's the same location where I think the boat trips run from.
Brilliant, me and my mate were planning walking it in a day, was thinking 19-20 hours at a decent walking pace, does that sound feasible? Cheers

Hello, I'm wanting to do a few days camping on the large island on the loch with my kayak and dog, any advice ? Thanks
