    Bought my wife and I the Dual Blitz precons back in FABs first/second year of Dorinthea versus Rynar. Loved it and shelved our Magic decks for it.
    Then UB happened and the recent announcement only sealed the deal. Your videos helped convert me fully and the new Armory Ready decks are going to be my gateway into events near me.

    Fabs success in the competitive tcg world is also its biggest weakness.
    It always has been
    Most players are casual.
    Because of the level of depth and knowledge needed to succeed in CC, many players are not willing to commit the time or money to the game. The fun disappear and they go play lorcana mtg or whatever.
    They need to release the PVE format. they need to please the casual players and make them happy if they want their game to grow.
    They are doing a fantastic job making the competitive people happy, but that won't grow the game or make more money.. Casual players will....
    This ban list is ok for the competitive scene, but the future of Fab needs more than this to be bright.

    • @Nokman013
      @Nokman013 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      As a filthy casual, I like that these cards are banned. Makes my casual CC decks have a better chance at armories where the local scene can be so hardcore.

    I'm really happy with how the game is being managed.
    Zen was definitely a mistake that I think they could have avoided by changing his hero ability to tutor for a mystic card so he wasn't eating Katsus lunch but hindsight is 20/20.
    Having close games was one of the things that got me into the game in the first place so I'm happy to see them returning to that.

    I mostly agree with your comments Snoop! I personally think Tunic should never be banned, as it is just a very good armor for classes that still don't have a good staple chest, so as the game advances and we have more specific class chests it will probably fade out a bit. Even now I think tunic just fills that space

    5:40 In MTG the Modern masters set was 100% purely reprints, the Modern Horizons product is the set that injects new cards into the modern card pool. Other formnats like legacy, Vintage and Commander all pool from the general card pool (aka any product WOTC has ever made in a black/white border).

    the more i think about the bans the better they are.
    i think upon reading results they realized that if they didn't do something fast the game might become.
    ''who ever draws the most card generation/value effects wins''
    which would remove skill instead of adding it.
    problem with card draw in fab is that every card is worth so much.
    the swing even if only 3/4 life can be the difference between being able to fight back or be forced to block.
    you should have to choose whether to take the damage or use your card to block.
    and have the game be the outcome of those micro decisions.
    at the moment it was becoming ''i have to take the damage because i don't have more resources to block with then my opponent has to strike me with''

  • @Narabedla4
    @Narabedla4 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    while i understand where that sentiment is coming from, i heavily disagree with just banning cards, because they are staples, if they do not result in degenerate gameplay patterns (as was the case when chaining draw spells/tomes)
    i dont want CC to be just powered down/washed out FaB. I just want it to be engaging for multiple turns of back and forth and able to reach second cycle.
    So while CnC and sink/fate are definetely above the norm powerlevel of cards, they also dont end the game in the spot or remove interaction, because "oops here is 35 damage".

    • @rgbcgroup
      @rgbcgroup 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The thing about the cards which were banned is, they are guaranteed to cause problems down the line. You cannot realistically prevent them causing "degenerate play patterns" as the game continues to release new cards and growing the card pool.
      So the only options you are left with is, either ban the cards after they inevitably ruined the format, or ban them before this inevitable development comes to pass. But in either case, they will get banned. It was not a question of "if", only "when".
      We have already seen this with Zen abusing AOW by banishing tigers to draw 2, or by DIO cheating out APs to cast Tome of Fyendal without any downsides.
      It sucks that the cards needed to be banned, but for the future of the game, this was 100% the right call.

    • @Narabedla4
      @Narabedla4 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rgbcgroup i dont disagree with any of that, but also fate foreseen wont suddenly otk people? My point was about banning cards just based on them being staples.

Those sets have been awful and destructive for Modern and Legacy essentially turning them into soft-rotating formats and much less of a place where you can see the history of the game on display. You NEED CNC's "can't play defense reaction" effect MORE than the remove arsenal, as if you're up against Guardians and Brutes (reckless swing), you can slither in some damage or pitch CNC down during your end game to deliver the finishing blow with Pummel. Imagine a world without CNC where your opponent just play 12 DR..... LOL. The thing with CNC's value that outshines other cards is "2 effects from it's ability to defend DR and remove arsenal" and "defending for 3". all newer cards only defend for 2.

    Art of War was the single most fun card to play. And it was not always good. How many turns i had to juggle my handcards to not waste an art of war.
    Art of war could be used defensive.
    Art of war had so many, many options and was so versitile. So much fun to play.

    To preface, I am a salty Ninja player, but that doesn't change the analysis.
    With these bans, LLS has made two things abundantly clear.
    1) Card advantage is, for some reason, bad.
    2) Classes that aren't numerically efficient (which is incredibly easy in a game as mathematically simple as flesh and bleed) were design mistakes and are essentially being removed with these bans.
    This flattens the experience of the game, removes a significant vector of skill expression, and makes the game even simpler. Fab, at this point, might as well be the equivalent of that elementary school game where you flip over the top card of a poker deck and decide the winner based on who has the biggest number, because that's what the game has been reduced to; a basic computational check of the sum total value of your hand against the opponents, and if your class isn't designed to be maximally efficient in this new paradigm, or your hand isn't simply a higher number, you lose.
    There's no reason to play this game over magic at this point. It might as well be pokemon.

      you being a salty ninja player is exactly why your analysis is the way it is... you don't even seem to understand WHY card advantage is bad for a card game...

      "1) Card advantage is, for some reason, bad." - you wanted to have a class that deals 5-8 free attacks per turn? lol get rekt ban of the free card draw is one of the ways to save us from power creep

      There is no skill in playing art of war and bonds of ancestry and drawing tons of cards. The only thing you had to do was wait to draw them and play a ridiculously stupid combo, which makes your previous turns and your opponent’s previous turns meaningless once you’ve drawn your combo.
      I’m saying this as a Prism player, the bans are healthy for the game, cus being able to draw 7-10 cards in a turn pretty consistently in a card game where your cards double as ressource is completely ridiculous.

      The issue with your argument is that you are pretending that the cards only have a vanilla attack and block value so who draws the biggest numbers wins. Most played cards have an on-hit or some other effect to make up for their weaker stats. Look at Bonds of Agony for example. It’s a 1 power card but if you meet its requirements and its hits you can totally rip your opponents hand apart and it wouldn’t matter if they could swing 12 back. Another thing is that other classes have board based stuff like auras and items. These don’t have attack values and get their benefits from other interactions. Your argument is missing context. You can’t pretend the game is just vanilla attacks the whole time. There is a lot of nuance you’re leaving out.

      I'm not going to bother articulating a response to any of this; you aren't serious people.
      Have fun playing Go Fish, I'm gonna go back to playing Modern and Legacy.
