How to Analyze a Footballer in 2023 | Footy Tactics

In this video, we break down what I look for anytime I am looking to analyze a player and their attributes. When it comes to the overall player in general, I categorize it into these four main components -
1. Mental
2. Technical
3. Physical
4. Tactical
Does the player have all the qualities of a footballer? Are they fit? Do they understand the game? Etc.
Next, we see what decision they make during the Phases of Play -
1. In Possession
2. Out of Possession
3. In Transition
What decision are they making during a specific situation? Do they understand their role/responsibility during the phases of play?
Lastly, how they are as a person/player. What is their mentality and personality like? Are they confident? Can they control their emotions? Etc.
Every position will be different. Every role/responsibility may be different. It all depends on the instructions given from a team/coach. It's important to identify what YOU look for in a player and then go based off of that.
