The Escalators shown in this video are actually at the West End of the "Original 1902 macy*s herald square Broadway building." I used to work at macy*s and these are the ones facing North/South behind the doors just before the 1924/1931 Sventh Avenue Buildinf starts just East of the Seventh Avenue Elevators. One of the Security Guards once told me this set was installed in 1919. The last time I remember the full Wooden treads was around 2004/2005. After this they were changed to metal treads keeping the only the Oak/Ash sides and full Wooden set from the 8th to 9th (Furniture) floor only. Many of the other wooden Escalators in the 1902 Broadway building were installed around 1924. It's nice macy*s at least kept these after their recent massive renovation.🙂

Sorry for the typo errors!
Any idea if Macy's had NO escalators when it opened, and all of the escalators were added on later?
I saw a picture of these escalators and they only went up to 6
There are different banks of escalators here.
Joseph and Today 😀
