thanks for the tutorial. Just got into Star Citizen three days ago and met my first chill dude waiting to reclaim my ship. We partied up and he let me take a spin on his vulture to scrape a panel he found. It was my first shared gameplay experience on SC. For two days before that, I was just bumming it around after work for a few hours successfully completing one small fry mission and dying to another due to my own incompetence or bugs. I was floored when we made 158k on a simple run (He kept that and donated money for my own. Love this game community). Thanks for a full rundown of the mechanics o7
@@BeardofOz Thanks! I almost felt like I was flying around in a coffin with thrusters in my Aurora at first, but I'm getting the hang of things and making friends as I go. I've Had more in-game interactions with people in five hours than I've had in the last five years playing Elite. Wish I'd made the jump over sooner.
If you have the time and willpower you can fit a total of 26 SCU (14 off grid) in the back. You just have to pull the loose ones out and load them from front to back from the rear door instead. Also, when your scrapers are in gimble mode, you can press Z for SUPER gimble mode, which allows them to reach anything on your screen without moving. (Not sure if intended)
I normally bunker run like a mad dog to get those sweet, sweet auec. After coming back from a year break, I saved up to get the Vulture. My God, it is so relaxing, a good change from the constant combat I find myself in
I took a C2 Salvage mission and made over 600K in just two trips to Orison. The mission only cost 50K and I got that back just off the gold and Q in the hold.
Thank you so much for this guide, I just got my vulture today. but unfortunately the servers were bugging massively, so I couldnt sell anything yet. Anyway, thank you for this very extensive yet brief guide, recommend it a lot, and its still up to date 7 months later.
As a brand new player (about 3 weeks), I finally saved up enough to buy me a vulture. I'm so excited to make some real scratch, as I wanna buy so many ships lol. Thanks for the guide, friend!
I find salvaging one of the most relaxing game loops currently. I love ripping everything off a ship and adding it to my other ships later. It doesn’t hurt that it pays so much right now.
How can you determine a ship is derelict ? I would like to just find them, and not have to depend on the missions. Thanks for your video, it helps. Best Regards Mike.
I don't know why, but my scrapers heads don't auto calibrate (focus) to the hull I'm scraping anymore. Only when im gimbaled do they focus onto the area I'm facing 😢, I'm not a fan of gimbals on the Vulture.
I'm an absolute newb with 3 bounty missions. I tried putting the panthers I salvaged on my Titan. I tried for hours, storing, changing, trying again, repeat with gimbals, trying again. And here I hear it's not possible. Maan. Why.
Yeah, like Rhynoemff said you can't. I checked in the PTU, when panels didn't disappear as you approached them. Hopefully they get patched sooner rather than later because panel hopping is my favourite chill activity currently.
I love the vulture, but I hope they get rid of the buffer again somehow. Maybe make it impossible to QT when the buffer is full. I just think its silly gameplay the way it works right now. I'm looking forward to finding crashed player ships and salvage those instead of only missions
@@zihdj A c2 is a ship that you can salvage. To find these contracts go to the contract tab, go to general contracts and pick salvage. You my need to start with a smaller ship contract to gain access to the big ships such as the C2. You pay to have access to the ship. You'll need a ship called the Vulture to do these salvage missions. You can also ask if anyone needs a crew member on their Reclaimer.
The Stores that sell ship weapons should also buy them, though at the moment they don't make a great deal of money. Still fun for the sake of playing the part of a scrapper.
my Vulture kept moving around while salvaging. like it would push itself away from target when scrapping. is thee a button or something tht will keep ship steady . would push or drift my ship away from target.
Are you more a combat fan? The Industrial side of SC isn't for everyone, it can often seem slow or dull. Perhaps the Dog-fighting or Ground combat is more your style?

The Vulture has become my favorite ship. Most chill way to make aUEC without too many extra steps.
It's a really nice ship, especially if you don't often do ship combat. A place to sleep, storage and a money printer.
How much can you make on a salvahe you have to pay 5000 upfront?
Now to add a catapillar to the mix
once you upgrade to reclaimer its legit a ship printer...your buying whatever ship u want in no time
you've showed a lot of tips and functions that other guides didn't even mention, thanks!
Happy to help!

A pretty solid and well-done introductory salvage video. Seems like you covered all the bases.

Its dangerous to put more scu in that thing that there should be. Got me exoloding twice today.

Cutlass black scrap missions, fracture it. 80k. Done, repeat.
This was helpful, thank you. subbed.
But where can I sell the salvage boxes?
Looking to purchase a Vulture for my next ship. This was super helpful! o7
Ooh, what is the background music you're using that sounds like deadwood/firefly?
It was some of the audio tracks that youtube has that are useable for videos!
How do you switch into breaking mode - AND how do you do it?
Great tutorial, and thanks for sharing.

I did notice the same. It's similar to the weapon convergence on ships. Wonder if its a feature or bug...
what do you suggest i do to make enough money to buy this ship

i didn’t quite understand how you got to disintegration mode “alternate fire” v
When in Structural Salvage mode, RMB (Alternate Fire) will switch you to disintegration mode. Hope that helps!

@@BeardofOz do you have to have your tractor beam on to use it

You don't. Watch the video carefully again. He mentioned there's three nozzle types, each with varying speed and diameters.
Imagine not using gimble mode to salvage.
So what can I do if I don't have a Vulture?
