    First thing I do with a new model is after trimming it out I check stall speed with flaps up and down. Then I practice approaches get the decent rate perfect. Lot of guys don't understand how to land a plane. Most people take off do aerobatics then crash land because they never learned how to land correctly. Fast planes land faster need more runway. What need to do is get the decent rate correct then bring it down into ground effect chop the throttle and let it bleed off land it.

  • @AusMarineRobotics
    @AusMarineRobotics 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Lordy, that's a flying brick - all thrust and no lift. Every low pass was an accident waiting to happen. All it needed was little downdraft and he would be ploughing up the runway.

  • @RoboTekno
    @RoboTekno 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    What the heck happened? Looked like he was having difficulty slowing down for landings? I'm guessing he ran out of fuel while making so many attempts to land?

    • @jordan1387
      @jordan1387  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Here's what the pilot said :
      Could not get motor to slow down to idle kept down trimming motor. Then shut off. Still had 3/4 fuel left. Time to richen her up a little

    • @jordan1387
      @jordan1387  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I think he down trimmed a little too much because when he tried bringing it to idle again that's when it quit

    • @RoboTekno
      @RoboTekno 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Ahh, that's frustrating. I don't fly big gassers much; but maybe next time, on approach, kill the engine a few yards before the runway that way you should have enough room to land and the prop is not stuck at high idle.

    • @jeffs7915
      @jeffs7915 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jordan1387 Idle setting shouldn't be done in the air if at all possible, but on the ground. Unless a mechanical issue arises. Tuning a gas engine to idle for landing is hard and it takes time.
