That's understandably a common misconception. I'm filipino too and I felt I was going to lose that side of me becoming vegan and my parents thought the same. But we all discovered vegan meat substitutes we can use for our filipino party food and it was the biggest game changer.
Try their chicken adobo recipe. It's amazing!

sometimes, i've heard people refer it to as "siling 'di anghang" to specify since "sili" is often generally referred to as something spicy as one would refer the red chilis "siling pula" or the green longer chilis "siling green/berde"

I was with my bf at the mall and I started to wander off he yelled towards me "Sacapunta?"
"Pencil sharpener?" (Sacapunta in Spanish)
"Where are you going!?" (Sacapunta in Tagalog) lol
Written out in Tagalog it's "Saan ka punta?" HAHAH. I never knew that

This meal looks so good. When I was in college many years ago, my roommates mother made a peanut butter gravy with beef stew meat and asparagus cooked in it. OMG that was the best.

This has become one of my favorite channels for vegan food! I am going to try this recipe but switch tomato sauce with something else since I am not a fan of tomato sauce. Keep it up and really excited to see more Filipino dishes since I don't know any.

@@AshiyaWhitley-ShawVeganAthlete It's called "Minatamis na Bao" and the one that I have is made only from sugar and coconut cream (super sweet, so use moderately!) It's SUPER good with Pandesal (or any type of bread I guess.)👍

Bell Peppers - its called Kampanilyang Sili or Kampanilyang Paminta as i remember, Kampanilya is tagalog word of a Bell thats why. :)

Excellent recipe and it was cool to see Jasmine's mum and her friend. Is your friend vegan? All 3 of you will have a good heart with all that garlic. It would be great to see more of both Jasmine's mum and her friend in videos. Would like to see her friend do some cooking.
