Neymar Jr.'s biggest flaw has always been his build. He's too dainty. Barcelona's doctor told the owners (in 2013) that Neymar really needed to add 12-15kg of muscle to compete in the Spanish league, but he never did.
It's unfortunate, because he had amazing ball skills, good instincts and IQ, quickness etc., but he never had enough physical presence.

If you think Mbappé doesn't play with a team mentality in mind, or lack of mentality in general, then you clearly don't watch his matches.
Both he and Haaland are as competitive as Messi and CR7. And Mbappé is as intelligent at being a striker as CR7.
Though both don't have as much of a playmaker's intelligence like Messi has, that is more a part of Bellingham.
Only Messi has both sorts of intelligence in him and that is why most people describe him as "born with talent".
Mentality and party problems are more common among Brazilian talents in general. It is part of their culture to admire riches and seek fame, because a lot of footballers grow up in poverty and support an entire community with their money and talent.

@@hoya1178 I'd argue with "he was past his prime", coz a) was he? b) even if he were, Messi was well past his prime in 2022 yet he was instrumental in Argentina winning it all, and c) even a subpar Ronaldinho would have had defenders pulled to him, which would create spaces for others. That was Messi in 2022 in a nutshell. As for "he wasn't that good in the national team", for the 2002 win (which is the last win Brasil won) he played in all but 2 games (and he was suspended for a red card for one of those) and scored 2 goals. One of which is that iconic 59-yard quick thinking free kick. Yea, "he wasn't that good".

Ronaldinho was lucky that he played with many living legends compared to Neymar who has not played with any other legends in their prime.

Rediscover his love for the game hit me hard.
I know what it feels like to be a seemingly unstoppable player without even trying extremely hard and then all of a sudden you lose your footing and start playing as an average player. It first and foremost injures the self pride you built while you were on top. Makes you to put in desperate hardwork which ends up fruitless. And that coupled with the expectations put on you by your club, your fans, yourself,e.t.c can ruin any player. It can truly make one to hate the game and forget why he started playing.
