- Considered a hidden gem of an NES game, I try out Faxanadu for the very first time! Let's explore this highly-rated but little known side-scrolling RPG that rivals the likes of Legend of Zelda!

Can anybody spare a J-key?
Diving in to these games without the hard copy manual that would have come with the disc is definitely a faithful recreation of the Blockbuster rental experience. In my cranky old age, though, I'd go mad trying to play one of these without finding and downloading a scanned copy of the manual first.
Yeah, I should really look for online manuals and give them a look before starting these... but then I'd be robbing you all of the sheer comedy of my torment! 😆
i played the crap out of this back in the day, fantastic game
@@Mihke I’ve stuck with it after putting this video up, and once it clicked and started making sense, I’ve been having a great time! I wish I had played it as a kid; I think little me would’ve adored it.
Playing this as a junior high school kid in the basement on a CRT was magic. Nothing comes close to those days.
I always questioned the price of weapons, armor and items in games...
It's a weird thing. Typically in those worlds, everyone has or needs these things, and most probably have them in some fashion. Does that inflate the prices or keep them steady? Are video game shop keepers just greedy?
@@spacecastleshowIt does feel a little weird that crisis capitalism is part of the status quo adventurers fight to protect
@@Dani_Reasor Hah! Maybe we should revolt and side with the flying dwarves instead of protecting these towns trying to extort us!
