I'm so sorry for all of the loss that folks have endured. My heart goes out to them.
I am also very grateful that old Gold Hill was spared especially the museum. My Great-great-grandfather was Sheriff in Gold Hill in 1860 to 1862, It's history is very some of the best preserved in Boulder County. The Jain Brothers, Members of my Altona Grange, saved many in Gold Hill in 1894. Thank you all who fought the fire and helped those who live the mountain way.

At 1:21 is an image captured from a video taken. This home was mine, and I was wondering if there was anyway if I can get that footage.
Thank you for all the hard work fire fighters. Without you, so much more would have been lost

@Uncle Ed What is wrong with you? Someone talks about how their house burned down and you just pointlessly promote a presidential candidate. Really not a good place.

Our house nearly burned down in this fire (but I was young so I don't remember it), we had evacuated and it came over Dakota Ridge right across the street from our house.

The houses didn't burn --- this time. But they inevitably will. That is the ecosystem dictated by the climate of the West, a place with huge trees. thick brush, tall dry grass, and a six-month dry season. Local politicians and real estate agents and banks promote this "mountain living". No non-mobile structures should be allowed in these hazardous places. You can live in your camper or trailer or motorhome during the wet season, but pull out when it gets dry. Just driving through the region should tell you: "This place is a death trap, get out while you can".We are tired of paying higher insurance rates and the cost of "saving" your town when you are so irresponsible.
