I found your channel by accident and can't wait to get into gardening again. I think I am going to start in the fall but, have really enjoyed watching your videos. I just ordered your book and can't wait to get it.
Shout out to Sweet Bay nursery! Love those guys!
The blanket Flowers are considered to be naturalized in Florida since they have been here for a few centuries
Yes! Thank you for adding that. :D
My spider wart is spreading all over my back yard. It seems to like shade the most. It's gorgeous 😍
Thank you for the great info for our Area
I got tropical sage last year and it has done fantastic! Thank you so much for the suggestion last year! The hummingbirds are enjoying and so many bees and butterflies 😁
6:56 - It can get REALLY hot and dry sometimes. Yesterday it was apparently hot and sunny enough to nearly evaporate all the water in my bird bath and small fountain. At 6pm, the 6" basin for the fountain was half empty and the birdbath had a thin sheen of water left when I went out to check on things... and I had topped them both off yesterday morning. A number of potted cuttings and seedlings were showing pretty severe stress wilt too. This morning I gave everything a pretty deep drink of water and the butterflies have been taking advantage of any exposed, moistened soil. So much so that I rewet some spots around noon just to keep them hydrated.
I didn't see a link to Florida Association of Native Nurseries so I listened to the video again to make sure I heard it correctly.
WHooops! Thank you for catching that. It is added now. And here it is, www.fann.org/
I have had the rudbeckia for almost 5 months and love it! Coreopsis I got my seeds thru FANN but Mr Bunny and his family ate them all
Great video. Thank you. You look amazing and healthy.
I did a butterfly garden for my parents house and I kept trying to get my mom tickseed. She hated the name and I finally got her one now she loves it.
Great info Jacqueline. Thanks for the link to the proper nurseries for native flowers. I have not done my flower garden yet since I didn't know where to go forbthe plants other than to ur area. I am 90 minutes from Tampa. Anyway, thanks much for the info.
Can you share some native shade or part sun plants and flowers? I have a shady area I want to spruce up. It gets morning sun for maybe 2 hours
Have them ❤❤❤❤❤😂
can you do lettuce please
Hoo buena tematica
Can you recommend a true full-sun Florida Native plant, with shallow roots? My front yard does not have ANY shade, so it gets sun all day, and I'm having a hard time finding plants that can survive the heat, except lavender (which is beautiful).
Coreopsis is true full sun. They grow in open fields in the wild. They only last one to two seasons and then set seed. Goldenrod also full sun for Florida. There are tons of plants but it depends what you are looking for… shrubs firebush, wildflowers tropical sage, ground cover Frogfruit.
@@WildFloridian thank you very much!
plant trees!
Do you have any recommendations for plants that can take like FULL florida sun? Like all day sun. I have a large open patch trying to fill in and struggling with the sun intensity even with "full sun" natives
Dune sunflower, it has taken over my yard.
@TymeTellar I have dune sunflower in a few place in my yard it does do really good in full sun. Tropical sage, stokes aster, elderberry and few others have all died. Would love some colors besides yellow
citrus.. always can use one more
Coming on here for help if anyone could tell me , I’ve got a dwarf cavendish banana plant and the flower looks stuck as the stem of the flower hasn’t come out enough and the bananas are semi inside the actual banana stem. Is this normal or have I got a dud crop 😢
Sadly spiderwort will take over your yard😢 Bet my husband has dug up 100 this year and we still have them popping up everywhere
I had spiderwort take over my front bed. I had to move it to a pot
Is it too late to grow echinacea from seed? I killed my first round 🥲
You still can. I’m just now planting mine.
Yes! :D Best of luck with your second round.
Mine refuse to sprout! I'm ready to buy an established plant.
