Love Brad. But I also want to hear more from Bill Gurley.
I love Brad's in-depth analyses but it makes it feel like he's lecturing Bill. Might be better for Brad to do ted talk style talks, and let this be a chat.
Loved the episode and I'm a Brad stan, but could we get more balance with Bill? He's got a lot to offer on these topics and would love to hear from him more. Appreciate what you two are doing with the pod, off to a great start in the first few episodes.

Thanks a ton for doing this, guys! Invaluable to so many of us. On the technical questions (e.g., memory), maybe bring on Andrej Karpathy as a guest for one of the episodes and do a full fledged discussion on all the open technical challenges? A state of the tech union of sorts.

great pod but I feel brad gets a bit too excited and talks over bill a bit. pod would be even better if brad could let bill finish his chain of thought and allow for pauses. the dynamic is improving and this could be an all time series! great stuff keep it going!

re 29:10 - To incorporate memory (user history), you may not need to retrain the model, rather just retrieve and use those history as (part of the) prompt.
This is why Gemini 1.5s huge context window is so interesting. Not even retrieval, just long context window could do memory

Fantastic episode! Masterpiece 🙌🏼 I enjoyed the Google analysis and impact on ads revenue with LLMs. Oh the irony that tech advancements made a company less profitable but customers get more value.

This is an astonishingly good episode. I am SCIFI writer centered on AI. My take on competing with Nvidia: while hardware is hard, no one thought that China would rise to dominate the car business by “seeing the moment” that BEVs presented. AI hardware is just beginning to get going. Neuromorphiic architectures are still research projects. This is the moment to take your shot. Good luck competing with Jason, who should be much better known as a generational talent. Guy Hooper.
Currently working on a startup to tackle the problem of a memory-like application and would like to suggest that expectations for AI to have user specific memory is as unrealistic as 100% AI compute in applications. AI for now is simply a layer on top of the traditional servers and algorithms that make the UX feel like user is interacting with a human. I don't see where that changes in any realistic fashion in the near future without a massive shift in cost of effective compute infrastructure.

Brilliant episode. However with regards to FAB/factory building & its entrenchment with cheap labor in East - its so hard to see BG2 ignoring the fact that there will be insane raise in robotics with all these AI multimodals!? The cheapest labour is just around the corner for humanity.
