    That's a common or famous delicacy in samar. Every fiesta or any kind of celebration it's always present but they don't use banana leaf to wrap it, instead they use a specific leaf which is called "hagikhik". They used specific type of rice which is called "pilit" they cooked it first (half cook) then wrap it then steam it.

  • @obiwankatorse4681

    Similar to the "But-ong" of the ilonggos yung latik. Yung pinagkaiba lang is yung way of wrapping - cone shape po yung but-ong. Then yung suman latik sa amin is bukayo yung topping. 😊

    Mali ka po, pls. fact check what he is saying ang Latik po yung rice cake and the sauce is Lunok, the whole Bicol and especially Albay has this tradition, from what I know traditions comes from the mainland of Luzon which was long developed culture than far flung islands which were hard to get to during those days...I know he is trying to lift up the heritage in his place, but not at the expense of the original and older places where these traditions originated

    • @camillecamille04

      Ano yung expense na binabanggit mo sir? He's explaining that that's how it's called in the ISLA -- as in sa CATANDUANES. If the mainland bikol calls it another way, then well and good. That's how things are-- different. Masyado ka namang affronted

    Latik with mallungay extract, is that original? Can somebody from Bicol fact check what this guy is saying...I dont recall that has been so for the past 40 yrs. mallungay extract only became a craze in the 2000s it started with malunggay extract incorporated in pandesal

    • @camillecamille04

      G na g si sir mag-commet. Paki-intindi po ng video. What they're sharing is their recipe. Nowhere did he say that's the standard Catanduanes latik recipe and he also did not say that's the standard latik recipe for the entire bikol. Kung may sarili kang recipe na walang malunggay, then good for you. Why fact check and rain on someone else's business? Kung sa mainland bikol iba ang tawag, then good for you. Di ko alam ano pinaglalaban mo sir. Luto ka ng sarili mo

      @@camillecamille04 Ma'am camille I just pointed out the discrepancy, Im not even calling out about his recipe if thats their own thats their own. Just stating facts that I know from my own heritage

    • @abrahamgaduang5094

      @@camillecamille04 Fact is the solid part is known as Latik and the sauce is Lunok, everybody in Albay and Camarines Sur knows that, that is fact, maybe you are the one who didnt understood what he said, maybe what he meant is different but that is the one stated in the video, dont confuse and muddle the topic, im not saying that their recipe is inferior or superior, maybe that is what they have in their area then fine, just dont imply about the other regions if you dont really know, just focus and state what you have, he mentioned "sa ibang lugar po kasi iba ang tawag sa solid part, sa kanila Latik ang tawag" this is my contention

    • @camillecamille04

      @abrahamgaduang5094 what he said is accurate. He said in Catanduanes, latik is the rice part. But in OTHER provinces outside the island, latik is the coconut sauce. In the the visayan region that is indeed the case (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latik). So both things he said is correct.
      He didn't claim that Albay/
      CamSur SPECIFICALLY calls the Qsauce latik.Then you comment to fact check because he's muddling the "origins" / "jumpoff point" of dish, and that you call the sauce Lunok. When those provinces wasn't even mentioned by the man.

    • @camillecamille04

      @@abrahamgaduang5094 why the need to fact check the use of malunggay in their recipe? Did he claim that's the standard recipe across the bicol region? If you've been alove for the past 40 years and hasn't heard of this method of cooking from catanduanes, why are you entitled to fact check?
