What a great place for a stop over- just fantastic; really enjoying the series Nic - I better start putting a saving plan in place .thanks (Richard Bristol 500 CBX 2017)
31years ago we rode up Dalsnibba as part of a tour on a BMW K100rs..... the road was unsurfaced gravel back then! It made the hairpins interesting 2 up with luggage!! I have a photo of my wife and the bike next to a massive snow drift on one of the left hand bends. Great video, as indeed they all have been 👌, thanks for posting and reminding us of a great day 👍 Cheers Alistair
Many thanks for sharing, your experience of the road then is indeed very different to mine, it really is a delight to ride now. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos and it sparked a pleasant memory for you Nick
When I was there in 2008 the Dalsnibba road was compacted gravel which had not long been cleared of snow. Nice to see they’ve put my toll money to good use by laying Tarmac on it. As I may have mentioned in your short video I was the very first customer in the shop at the summit as it had only just opened on the day I was there. A couple of books if I remember, and cash only because the till hadn’t been connected up as it was around 9am.
Yes, your toll money has been put to good use, the road is beautifully surfaced, and buying something at the centre probably gave them hope that is was a viable proposition. So, from somebody who reaped the benefits... thanks!! Nick
A lovely stretch of your journey and an amazing destination! Each to their own of course, but give me the motorcycle experience over the cruise ship any day........Thank you.
Hi Nic thank you so much for sharing this trip ,I look forward to each episode you post it looks absolutely amazing.Im now in my 70th year and feel you are giving me the motivation to visit Norway solo next year.Ive got the CB500x so here's hoping I do. Ian
Many thanks Ian, it was truly a fabulous trip and Norway is stunning. I hope you do get there next year and I found the CB500X to be the ideal bike. Good luck! Nick
Stunning road and a spectacular view at the top. Some of those camper vans took up a lot of space in the switchbacks! Definitely had to keep your head on a swivel. Looking forward to the next episode. Cheers, Jim
Brilliant stretch of road. We saw only as valley full of clouds when we drove up there a few years back, which was beautiful in its own way. Didn't stop in the village though. Too many tourists and thus best viewed from afar. Happy travels!
Just got home from doing a road trip in a hire car from Oslo. I did some driving let me tell you. Loved driving in Norway. Bloody expensive country though. I lived off hotdogs and coffee at the petrol stations. How did you pay for the ferry and toil roads? Cheers for the videos I enjoy them
Hi Dean, yep, expensive and I ate quite a few lunches at the petrol stations too. For the ferries I bought a Ferry pass, you prepay the card 300 NOK and it is debited as they have number plate recognition or hand held machines. For the bike I didn't need to pay the road tolls. Nick
Stunning scenery!
It was!
Nick
What a stunning road!
It was, and so little traffic made it even more enjoyable
Nick
Stunning ride.
Yes, it really was, thanks for the comment

You are so lucky with the weather. June is much better than July
I could not believe my luck either

It was indeed. Early that morning there had been a really thick mist, and the ship gradually appeared as if by magic.
Nick
Glad you didn’t take the day off, great scenery, by the way, that’s not a massive cruise ship, far bigger on the ocean waves 😊
Very true!

Endless roads that are simply stunning. Pity about the battery issues but 360 saved the day. Alex
Hi Alex, yep, the scenery is top notch, can't say that for the GoPro at times!! 😊
Nick
@@bikingtravels that is why I use the DJI, it only the village idiot that operates the camera that causes issues 🤣🤣🤣
😊🤣

Thanks Jim, it was beautiful up there and luckily not too much traffic when I went.

Hi Phil, I was indeed very lucky, but as you say looking down on clouds has its own charm
Nick
The Norwegian government should have sponsored you, this trip has been an incredible boost for their tourism industry
🤣, That would have been nice!
