You have a great way of explaining things but 90% or more of the questions you say we don't have answers to, we absolutely do.... that makes me really want to just click on other content..... the "why choose a pet over a human" question has an obvious answer and an incredibly obvious one. That's our pet, we formed a bond with it, we will always choose what we have a connection to over all else.... that's how all humans have and will always work.... that question isn't even asked right and is clearly divisive. If it were asked " random animal or stranger" the only people saying the random animal would be trolling or mentally ill, or have been hurt by people enough to prefer to be alone and say the animal as a way to express that bias....also if the question "best friend over a random animal" you can imagine where that's going..... just a stupid question entirely. and the hitler question really pisses me off because the reason why what they did was bad or evil, tho I do believe evil is subjective, was evil because hurting people is bad we all experience pain and no one but again, mentally ill or sociopaths, like it being in pain. So it logically makes sense to not do to others you'd not want done to you. It's not a religious or moral code. It's blantant common since. It should also be common since we are all human and should try to function as a society to create a world where bliss and prosperity is more common than pain and anguish. Religions and fear of government control stop this. The real question thats hard to answer on a metaphysical level is why do we do this to ourselves and even that can be answered with the majority of people are ignorant...... you should do better... in a universe where everything is subjective, questions are easiest to answer because no one has to agree on how we get to a conclusion as long as there is some degree of consensus. People are too egocentric, governments have too much control, religions lead the misguided and lost into hatred under the gaise of community and acceptance ( as long as you conform ), to come to these conclusions It makes me acturally sick.

I want to be wiser but the more I think the more I realize that life is honestly kind of a lie. It’s always our perception. Brands are more expensive because everyone is wearing them when non branded items hold the same quality. Often times I find myself only doing things so I can post them online, so people will see that I’m cool. But it takes away the living in the moment. I don’t know why I seek validation, because I already know I’m cool. I’m 16, and I don’t get good grades. Grades are honestly an illusion and everybody knows it, but if they are then why do i define how smart I am from them. I don’t like that I’m defined by what I’m thought of, or what I do, or why do I define myself by the things I do. Is being smart an illusion, because bigger words mean the same as smaller words, they just look bigger but they don’t hold more dimension. So basically I don’t know what the point of this comment is but thank you for helping me think deeper. I can’t comprehend everything said in this video but I always think that it helped me become wiser.

I think, especially our generation (I’m 17) has a crave for individuality as well as fitting in with the rest. I know how cool I am but sometimes I want other people to think so too. I think it’s all for a sense of relatability and comfort. Although everything in the universe is so complex that there will be no simple answer for all your questions. Seeking validation from others is just the product of some of the societal constructs we’ve placed upon ourselves. I don’t think everything is an illusion but an attempt for humanity to find the purpose of our existence, or just making one for ourselves. I personally hope there is more to our existence than to study for the first quarter of my life then potentially work a 9-5 for the next 2 then retiring.. It feels and sounds like a really dull existence but I also think we just have to make it our own. We’re still young and we’ll come to conclusions about life throughout it.. and idk how to end this but I just thought I’d share my opinion lol

Fin yourself within the illusions. Create yourself if necessary. Listen to everyone but always do what is best for you. Work out to quiet the mind. Learn and have a good discourse whenever you have the chance to speak so that people actually want to listen to what you have yo say. Quit posing for others you live your life in the manner you deem fit for you. Stay away from shallow people, party responsibly, understand that you are the best you have yo offer to the world, and never bow down to someone else.
      Have values and respect them.
Treat people as you want to be treated.
      Learn skills and apply them.
Take care of those around you. You never know when help given is reciprocated.

Aperture thanks for your unique points of views in these videos. I personally believe each individual holds his or her own personal world within themselves that why there so many different ways of looking at everything or nothing depending on what frame of thinking one likes to go with. I thought about how I cannot see or feel somebody else world view of life. I used to listen to band called (The Who) they recorded this song it asks (Who Are You?) over and over in the song I heard in in 1981 year that has been 43 years has passed by.
The King James versus has words that read 1 thousand years is in one day or one day is like Thousand years
so it causes me to realize time really is nothing it just a clock on the wall or a Calendar for people who needs to keep appointments and be somewhere on time for the other persons benefit. We live to service people you do that with each video you upload share with all of us online so thank you for all your effort and time to give us all something to watch and even have us to think what is the real reason do we exist? I say it is to service one another people showing love and celebrate life. Thanks again.

Honestly, the biggest lesson I’ve learned from psychology is that the answer is probably somewhere in the middle. Pleasure versus suffering, conservatism versus liberalism, any of these issues can have good and bad points to them, but the answer is probably somewhere in the middle between these two points. The only question is how much Credence do you give to one versus the other.

Nature made concious beings in a symmetry, as nights have days, birds and bees and every living one that feels, new begins from old, ensured in need or freed by dreams, wanting something more than one set of eyes that sees and validating our love as living beings, all need to love and to be loved, there really maybe nothing more, a quest for recognition gives a reason, yet nothing higher seemingly a fundamental feeling, never no more lonely, who really doesn't feel that love is something more than to just achieve, to truly be in love is everything that reason, has no need of.

@ 8:00 Stop thinking of just yourself and think of how your life experiences may help someone else in the future. Your diary entries may be exactly what someone needed to hear to keep going in their darkest moment. Life is not meaningless but it is up to you to choose the meaning. This is my take on Stoicism and I think I started as a Nihilist but I have moved on.

We live in a reality of opposites. For every concept their exists it’s opposite. Pleasure cannot exist without pain for one defines the other. For most of us, the journey through life will see us attempting to move ever toward pleasure on a path that is riddled with pain (obstacles). Accepting this is balance.

  • @nonyabidnuss4803

I like to think no matter how you think, you are correct - for you personally. There is collective shared reality and also personal reality. The universe will mirror what you believe to be true about life back to you. When large numbers of people are on the same wavelength, such as Nihilism, then the internal battle to find meaning becomes more tangible due to the concepts of oneness and resonance. That's just my running theory.

  • @auntiethetical
    @auntiethetical 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

The “why” that was asked in Nihilism is answered in Consciousness: we are the universe witnessing itself.
There is a lot of useless, ridiculous, puerile fodder on this platform and others like it, but increasingly I see the growth of interest and engagement with channels like this one; with philosophy, consciousness, quantum physics, and cosmology. It gives me hope for any generations of humans that may follow this one.

What I m about to tell you shouldn't come as rude or hateful.
I used to watch the videos fully while paying attention and listening to your voice. The tone, the loudness, and the pace of wording were great. Nowadays, I find myself lost after half a video mostly, I enjoy the subjects, and I want to be able to listen, but I always feel like I 'm losing focus. It might be on my side and definitely it is to some extent. However, the speed of today is so high that 1 hour videos seem to be a bit much for me.
I will still watch the content but I would be curious about your take on attention span in adults and children the social construct of society and how technology might render us unable to have a decent attention span compared to older times. Also how problem solving skills will decrease collectively with the push of Ai on the current path.

I am a perspective. The experiencer has no identity. It watches through all eyes.
It calls itself "I" but then, so does everyone.
    You know?
When you see that "nothing " is the background within which everything happens, the perspective finds comfort.
    That is nihilism.
The infinite, void which has no characteristics and is therefore perfect, imagines the earth and decides to touch it, that moment is the entire existence of the perspective.
The magician performs the trick before it begins. Every thought begins spontaneously. Prior to the thought was it's inevitability. The infinite is not one moment after another forever but all moments at once. Forever.
    Don't believe me?
Imagine the earth and touch it.
    See what has already happened.

Only the present is real. You feel the world, that is real. Past and future are mental constructs. We can influence the material world. This is the capability given to us by the universe. To make the universe better function is the purpose of life. We fulfill our roles. Some have weaker consciousness, they tend to face difficulties. If you think your brain and other parts of your body function without reason, then you are wrong. Why are there different species? This is to create a sustainable, systematic and developing environment.

It is simply not possible to sum up life's meaning(s) into words. Our senses can only detect the past via waves. How we interpret these waves determines how we paint our understanding of life. Tuning our ability to interpret these waves through the perception of light, temperature, sound, taste and smell is the true human experience. Life truly takes on meaning when we learn how to bring all our senses together in a concert of personal understanding. The fact that anyone takes life for granted flies in the face of all those who never got the chance.

A human life would take priority over a pets life if the question is which has more potential to affect the world. A human has the potential to create unlimited possibilities that could change everything for everyone now and in the future. The higher intelligence would be worth more for this reason, but if my dog or a stranger? Well, I wouldn't want to be that stranger because I love my dog, man's best friend, who is always on my side.

The anti hedonism argument doesnt make sense to me. The reason you'd do charity is either because it makes you happy to help people or makes you feel bad not to. Pleasure doesnt just mean instant gratification. Youre forced out of college. The reason people fight for the common good is because it feels good to help and it feels bad to turn away. Its just a more complex argument than made out to be in the video. And with the reality thing: we dont know why we feel that reality is better but we CHOOSE it because we fear the lack of fulfillment (which is a form of pleasure but more long term) i guess its not like hardcore original hedonism but the newer version isnt just "chase instant gratification"
