    Thank you for doing what you do sir.
    I had a daughter who I love without limits!! But I’d love to be able to share the ‘gentlemen’s arts’ like my father and grandfather did with me. I really like your channel & I hope you keep on doing what you do because it’s inspired me to ‘shine’ a little better & remember why I was raised a gentleman!! CARRY ON DOING YOUR THING!! We are listening and watching!!

    Only in America could we expect such detail on what we might think are mundane issues. Love your attention to detail, I have learned so much. Great stuff.

    Hey Kirby, thank you for the excellent content as usual. We're still waiting for that tie knot video; that tie and pocket square combo for this video is absolutely sublime. Have a great weekend.

    Hey Kirby, Thank you for your awesome info and products. I just wanted to mention a tip that I don't think you have mentioned, if you store your polish upside down, the oils will move more to the surface of the wax, both reducing it drying out over time while stored and provide a better penetration into the leather. What are your thoughts on heel and sole, I went to a military college and we used this liberally on our shoes for inspection.

    I really needed to watch this video. It answered a lot of my concerns with shoe care. I've love all of your video, wherein I've been educated on the zenith of shoe care. Thank you!

    Hello Kirby I have some questions for you. Is it true that you really only need two shining brushes for dark/light colors? Would you use the same brush you use for with a black polish for dark brown or say a mahogany or oxblood? Do you need to clean it afree each use? Also what constitutes dark/light color? Would the medium brown saphir cream polish be considered a light?

    Hey Kirby,
    I agree completely with konradallan on that pocket square. Where did you get it?
    Also, have you done a video on how and when to use saddle soap?
    Thanks!

    Hi Kirby, Thanks for the helpful videos as always. I had a question regarding the styling of Leather Jackets. Can you please also have a video on what goes best with leather jackets and how should the color combinations be? etc. Do you also recommend them as a choice for a well-dressed gentleman? Thanks

    Hi Kirby. How do you clean your chamois? What detergent/cleaner do you use?

    To maintain the welt of a cordovan shoe would you recommend using the mirror gloss wax instead of the neutral pâte deluxe to minimize the risk of inserting solvents in the upper when applying the wax?

    • @kirbyallison
      @kirbyallison  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alexandre Ung The Mirror Gloss is actually an excellent substitute for the Pate de Luxe when it comes to welt care. Not just for cordovan, but for all shoes.

    Hey Kirby, Thank you for another informative video. One question with the cleaning daubers do you also recommend getting two for dark and light shoes or is just one fine for all shoes as it's just for cleaning.

    • @kirbyallison
      @kirbyallison  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - you absolutely would want at least two daubers, possibly even more.

    Dear Kirby,
    could you please explain, how exactly you wrap a high shine chamois around your fingers and how you fix it? If I try so, I can only keep it fixed a few seconds.
    Thank you very much in advance.

    Thank you for such great content, Kirby. I've just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed. I have a question: How do you get waxes out of the broguing on Wingtips, Cap Toes, etc.? Thanks again!

    • @kirbyallison
      @kirbyallison  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Welcome to the channel, Jack! Thank you for subscribing. The best way is to pick out the wax using some sort of small object, like a toothpick or a letter opener.

    Hey Kirby, nice video. I've question about how to restore my old shoe polish brush hairs which r tangled , mashed up with eachother. Thank You in advance

      Use a little of your girlfriends good shampoo and brush your hand to work up the lather. If there's a build up of wax in the bristles rinse it with boiling water. Next use a tiny bit of your girlfriends good conditioner and brush it against your hand to work it into the bristles. Rinse the brush well. Now use a regular hair comb to detangle the mashed down areas. Use your girlfriends big tooth wet hair comb if it's really mashed down. Carefully shape the bristles up straight and let it dry bristles upward. Trust me, I work at a shoe service shop in Los Angeles. If the wood handles are dry and splitting rub the wood with olive oil but not on the bristle side. Now that they're restored and useable again, take care of your things like an adult. A good horsehair brush isn't cheap. If you have two brushes put them face to face (bristle to bristle) so the bristles don't get mashed again. Someday you won't even be able to find a real horsehair brush. Dang kids can't have anything nice! lol A good horsehair brush should outlive you if cared for properly.

    Hello Kirby, what is best to dress shoes. flat or round laces?

    • @kirbyallison
      @kirbyallison  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oscar Ortez Narrow is the key. A narrow, flat waxed shoe lace, in my option, is the most elegant. We have ones we have woven. Otherwise, round.

    Which hairbrush size is the most effective or easiest to use?

    • @kirbyallison
      @kirbyallison  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Enoc Estrada Avila I find that the large brush is easiest to use because the bristle is longer and the handle is easier to hold. Less likely to jam the brush into the side of the shoe, also!
