@@fransoto8343 More and more past pictures of yourself appear. Eventually you have a full photo album, but only the face is correct in each picture. The background, other people, and even the clothes you're wearing are a blur in each. Slowly the pictures start to deform again. But while some become abstract, others take the form of horrible injury. Recognizable disfigurement, blunt trauma, burn scars, bruises and wounds. As you are preparing to close the browser window, the mouth in each picture (as far as the mouth is still recognizable) begins to distort into a sickening unnatural grin.

If you ran it long enough, it would eventually happen. It's like the Library of Babel - an online library with books that contain every combination of letters and words. You can find a book that contains every detail about you imaginable. You just have to find the right book. Luckily, you can search through the library by phrase and find the exact book, page and location, if you wish.
For some reason "loading children" is so creepy on its own.... everything about this whole experience feels my life flashing before my eyes but I have a fever as I'm dying

This stuff is lovecraftian, the fact that these images almost look like something but our brain keeps finding details that don't add up generates such a weird sense of disconfort, like a rubberband of logic that stretches and relaxes continously. Oh and some of them are just fucking creepy, and THEN there is longdog...
Longdog is borderline cute, nothing compared to the flesh horrors before that.
That's why they used to call it DeepDream. It literally looks like the lack and disregard of detail our brains create when forming dreams.
It's like getting a peek into an alien mind. Which I guess it is, if you consider an AI to be a "mind".
deepdream is a google owned machine learning initiative used for practical purposes like generating perfect text to speech, unblurring images, and other complicated Shit. most of the neural net image sites like this are made by random people using available net source code, such as this one which used GAN.

this thing is actually really good if you want concept art for space vehicles and futuristic cities, if you can get it right you can get creepy industrial cities and old rusty mech scapes and space ships
That's the way to use this that I wish Vinny had done. Just selecting random images give you random results but if you try to follow a theme you can create your own tailored dream image. If he wanted he could've made himself the most crazy cosmic horror if he just narrowed his field of view.

What if people set this up where they had a bunch of people using eye tracking being shown the same images, and then had it select the image that people initially looked at the most when the children loaded.
So as to select the "most visually interesting" one, instead of the one people choose to call interesting because they want to see more of it.

I'm really surprised you didn't try the "mix" link at the top. You can mix any two images on the site using their urls, and it shows every step between their transformation into each other. Kinda' like those Animorph covers. It's really interesting and is a lot more controllable than just clicking through the images.
I think it really exemplifies just how the algorithm is smashing these images together as well.

these are things i would ACTUALLY see in the worst kind of nightmares i get. the crying-screaming get-it-away stay-in-bed-terrified-for-3-hours-after-waking-up kind. those nightmares always involve facial distortion of a very specific type and i've never been able to describe What Type until now.

A lot of people are saying these images are Lovecraftian, and I kind of agree, even if they're not like anything he specifically described. They definitely fit the "angles are all wrong" and "unsettling in a way that can't really be put into words" tropes.
This makes me physically uncomfortable. I don't like this, on some deep, primal level.
i have like a primal urge to run towards the nearest living thing and kill it. like my brain is telling me to do bad and weird stuff when i look at these pictures. its like its setting an emergency alarm in my head or something.
Right around the 12 minute mark I had the strongest moment of revulsion I've had in a while because the food stuff had lulled me into a state of sleepy complicity and then BAM! Grade A nightmare fuel. Good stuff, man. I gotta get in on this action.

I’ve been playing ganbreeder for ages with my friends and we just think its so funny to create these weird images. Ive spent ages laughing hysterically over things we’ve made, and I’m actually shocked at how many people are freaked out by this. I know it sounds weird, but I’ve never been creeped out at all while playing this. But seeing these comments it make me think of a phenomenon to do with dreams. It consists of your dream containing weird abnormal things, but your brain normalizes them in your dream so you dont suspect anything. This is why you believe your dreams are real. Its the same with ganbreeder, it takes an image and makes it look so weird and distorted, yet at the same time makes you think that its something youve seen before
Oh fuck me, I shouldn't have started watching this before going to sleep.
But now, I cannot stop.
