      I am just trying to get something done about it because Wacom is not doing anything to fix the problem for me to have to go though that much mobile studio 16 is BS I should not have to go though that much. when it works it's awesome and I love it but the stupid thing do not work for very long and I am a t-shirt designer I need to work on some more which I am doing I am using an apple Ipad pro 12.9 and that seems to be working good and I am not a fan boy if I can get the job done then cool I don't care who it's from I just care if I can use the device for a long time and not have problem's with every one I get.

    This is what I love about your reviews, don't miss a thing and get right down to details quickly! I've since rethought the needs a VESA mount I've said before, what was I thinking? It was a kneejerk reaction to not being an included stand. Thanks for confirming that the latest Wacom driver addressed wavy line, this is good. I wish there was better battery life and it is smart to include the cost of a power pack in the expense of this device. I cannot say how much I appreciate your comparison of models and feature differences between them. This is the thing I hate most about shopping for anything computer related as it can be exhausting to sort! You are a geeks geek and went right into those Window settings which is great that you've shared this information. Thanks again Aaron, you do those of us in the art community a great service.

      when people say that this tablet is over priced the normal repy would be is that its providing the cintiq experience along with a capable computing machine which is absolutely true , but when we ask ourselves to what extent this tablet would last me as its considered an investment and see the users of previous wacom tablet pcs from the cintiq companion one till the first gen mobile studio we re gonna notice lots of head ache and stress these tablets caused them and most of them considered it was a mistake in the first place investing in a wacom pc , and it would have been a better value if they got a big cintiq that will probably last for alot longer with out opening its mouth and i would go like forever regarding these wacom tablet pc problems from no extended warranty plans offered by wacom during purchase to the problems you might face when you get this tablet because when you you get this tablet you will definetly face problems if you are workin on it daily from 5 to 8 hours which is the average working hours for a content creator , problems like no charging or the charging cable is not recognised of screen flickering some people with mobile studio reported the battery swelling inside and pushing through the screen to cause damage of the hardware which is a nightmare to any one who spent this kind of money on a tablet like that , yes its great product with beautiful hardware design but what good when after a year or so i have a sexy tablet pc thats non functioning and it costed me an arm and a leg , so wacom if you are reading this you should add at least 3 year coverage warranty and a renewal warranty fees for people who got out of warrant and a battery should be easily removed from this device and replaced by the customer just like the update you did in the second gen for ram and ssd spending 3500$ shouldnt be somthing that is taken easily by wacom , wacom should know that most designers and content creaters out there when they spend this kinda money they expect a product that will last a product that they can rely on which is a doubt in the case on wacom mobile studio am warning people to do there research before spending this amount of money because absolutely you can get more value with this money from wacom purchasing a big cintiq than a tablet pc that wont last more than a year of heavy use and will cause you regrets and headches ......as a wacom user for 7 years wacom are great for their intous and cintiq range but not pcs if they want to compete in this category they should consider the points mentioned exteneded warranty plans , removable battery that is separated easily by consumers and replaced a good engineering that guarantee repair by any pc repair shop and doesnt need a wacom repair center

      @@jesusledezma1418 I bought the surface book 2, and it's awesome! I ended up getting it for the ease for gaming, since I use it for art and gaming.
      The drawing capability seems just as good as any wacom tablet I've seen, definitely good enough for professional drawing.
      The version I got is the same price of the wacom studio.
      In my opinion, the only loss is the 3d camera. Seems like way better, and it's specs are better too

    THE best review, needs tons more views (promote your tablet reviews harder!) Brad Colbow's is ultra lame compared to this.
    One more point I want to add is that one place where iPad cuts a corner is the glass screen - Cintiqs may seem to have the same type of glass to laymen only looking at the photos, but they actually have much better friction and ergo, control. And despite how it might seem like not such a problem...when you first pick up an iPad and discover the better screen and portability...it is actually a HUGE deal. Art boils down to a contest not just between tablets, but between digital and traditional media. When I still bust out my graphite pencil regularly because it gives me way better control over my lines than the iPad (and that's how I used to work, pencil sketc->photo->color on ipad), we have an issue. Wacom Cintiqs allow me to do my sketches digitally from the beginning, without sacrificing being able to draw with very precise fine tuned strokes. (And while iPad apps have come a long enough way and you can actually work on ipad professionally now, the amount of useful options and customization of PC apps is still unmatched. Even if it's just simple things like text editing, cleaning up a scanned drawing, vector drawing, color history, color wheel settings - most functions I use daily simply don't exist or take much longer on ipad apps.( So as amazing the portability is, as amazing all-in-one is (to briefly mention other competitors), we still don't live in an age where that is possible without sacrificing the primary function, usage for drawing. Which is why we're still best off using Wacom products like this one.

    Nice review, but one or two things, all USB-C ports can be used for charging (at least with the latest drivers) and there are USB-C to USB 2/3 adapters small enough to fit all 3 at the same time.
    One other challenge is that not all software is High DPI aware, so those tend to look blurry.

Thanks so much for the info though👍 I’m thinking of getting the 32 Cintiq Pro with the pro engine PC but concerned 32 is too big and 24 is not a big enough jump up from my 16” MSPro 🙀. Will test them both out next month at the Photography show at the NEC (UK) 👍😊

    I own the MSP 16 enhanced version, too and I totally agree with all the things you said. ( I was lucky though getting a used model and drop the price a lot - I could not have been able to buy a new one).
    The only disagreement would be that - for me being a tiny person - the MSP 16 is far too heavy to be drawn on holding it and I - have - to rest it somewhere.
    That leads me to that I was a little disappointed in the few accessory coming with it.

    • @aaronrutten
      @aaronrutten  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, too heavy to hold for a long time. I'd like some kind of way to strap it to your arm. That would be really cool.

    20:15 It looks like you were having difficulty getting the pen on. That's because you were putting it in incorrectly. There's a bit of a cut out to the side because you are supposed to rotate the pen so the buttons are where that little cutout is at. You will have less problems getting your pen in and out if you do that

    just tested it yesterday, and immediately found horrible problems with it, that didn't convince me yet to switch from my Cintiq Companion 2. First thing - quite a noticeable lag when working on Photoshop. The Lag occurs literally on any action in PS - both drawing or selecting elements. Another problem - extreme overheating at the top area, making my hand all sweating right on the screen. Also - very strong moire while pressing the screen a bit harder. The stand is as flimzy at it was in other Wacom computer tablets - just a bad design... My conclusion - not worth the price...

I have the surface pro and a cintiq but the mobilestudio pro feels so good drawing on it just wish the screen size was better. Is it safe to leave the charger plugged in while you work on it for hours? or am I supposed to unplug it becuase it might burn out. Believe me, you buy an intuos pro for 400 and you can do exactly the same work, i love wacom but 3000 for any device would worth it only if your monthly salary is on the double, in other words, for me studio pro is like a ferrari, you buy it when you really have the money, as a luxury, not because you want to convince someone else or your self that you are a pro, so dont pay too much attention because it is not worth it

    Hi ! enjoy the review! I didn't quite understand when in min 23:16 you talk about the fact that the computer needs to have a usb-c connection , or I ll not be able to use it in 4k...I'm new to this world and I have a 2010 macbook as a laptop to attach the Mobile studio Pro , I wanted to buy the wacom link... could you explain that part again? thanks!

    • @aaronrutten
      @aaronrutten  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      USB-C is currently the only connection that supports the bandwidth required for 4K resolution. The USB-C port must support both video and data signals. I don't know whether your laptop supports it or not, I would guess it does not if it's from 2010. You'll have to look up the specs for your laptop to see if USB-C is supported.
      If you do not have USB-C, then you probably have Thunderbolt which will still let you connect the MobileStudio Pro, but the resolution will be limited to QHD instead of 4K.

    Hey very good review it's very very complete! Thanks for it. I have a question and you who have the experience with this device maybe could help me to decide. I'm a owner of a cintiq companion hybrid 13HD, at this day a very old version of the firsts mobile models. But still worked nice, though I uses mostly connected to my Mac, because the android OS it's Nice and it have some good apps for drawing and 2D animation, but I can't use all the buttons of the tablet as well as the buttons of the pen... And that's crucial for me to save time and commodity, aside the weight that's pretty heavy for a "mobile device xD. So in resume, what version of this MSP do you recommend me to use just for drawing, painting and 2D animation (frame by frame). I don't need any 3D tools or I don't wanna uses for editing video, I will do that on the computer. I said that because I can't afford the most expensive version. Thanks in advance for your comments!

      If you aren't using any power-hungry art apps, then the least-expensive MSP should work great.

    This is on my wish list the ability to use corel or photoshop without the computer would be wonderful, but I think it's unfair to compare this to the iPad pro. I know you are not a mac fan but the iPad pro does not suppose to use software it's to use apps and has outstanding drawing apps if one day you draw with a iPad pro and decide it's bad that's fine but you can't compare with something that is a computer this machine is a computer not a tablet. I think my iPad pro rocks,do I think is like this? no, does make me want both? yes do I think then my iPad pro will be bad? no because I like procreate and all other apps and the apple pencil. Thanks Aaron.

    • @aaronrutten
      @aaronrutten  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      One of the goals of my review was to answer questions from my viewers and comparing the iPad was asked a lot. I don't think it's unfair to compare the two devices because a lot of people are deciding between them and my comparison helps them make that decision. For example, there are a lot of artists who want to use desktop apps like Photoshop or Corel Painter. You can't do that on the iPad.

    • @Jana2WorldsArt
      @Jana2WorldsArt 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes because the ipad is tablet not a computer that's why viewers than should have that in mind. For a tablet the apple pencil is great and the apps like afffinity photo that are basically a photoshop in your ipad if they don't know that doesnt mean its not possible they should take a look in affinity photo which is basically a replica of Ps. just saying.

      Not a chance. The RAM is part of the motherboard it's not slotted in DIMMs, so even if you managed to take it apart, there is no way to expand or replace the RAM. You have to get the model with the amount of RAM you need from the start.

    In depth review but I don't think it's at all fair to compare with the iPadPro especially when a. Corel Painter isn't available on IpadPro and b. The iPadPro Battery life seems much better than the Mobile Studio Pro. If you are going to compare them then I think it should be like for like (and with a bit more time spent on it). They are not the same thing. Nicky Jameson.

      It's a question that I was asked by several people to cover in the video. I don't see how its unfair, there are obviously people who are deciding between the two. The ipad is weaker than the MSP and cannot run the same level of software. It has better battery life because its not doing much in terms of CPU usage. That's what people wanted to know so I answered.

      Aaron Rutten by same level of software do you mean Corel or something else? Because there isn't a Corel version for iPadPro so what software did you compare with to come to that conclusion?

      iPad can only run iOS apps. Procreate is OK, but not as good as Corel Painter or Photoshop in my opinion. There might be some better apps than that on iPad, but without access to industry standard desktop apps, it's a significant handicap in my opinion.

      There are plenty of industry standard desktop apps that run on IPadPro. Yes, Procreate is one of them, but Art Rage (which runs on both Windows and IPadPro) is much closer to Corel Painter than Procreate - in my opinion. There doesn't need to be the full whack Photoshop on IPadPro in my opinion, as it's broken down into specific apps. But more to the point Affinity Photo is very much industry standard and a good alternative to Photoshop on the iPad - better in some ways. And I have made and sold art I've created with several fo the many painting/drawing apps using iPadPro and Apple Pencil. There is no handicap - unless you mean there is no Corel Painter. A My point wasn't about apps per se, it was more that you didn't test Corel Painter on the IPadPro because Corel has not created a version for IPad (I wish it would), therefore since you mentioned it it's not really a like for like comparison as far as that aspect is concerned. Also, the iPadPro is a tablet while the MSP is a computer. Two different things. That does not take away from the fact that the MSP is a great piece of kit for an artist wanting to be completely mobile. And just because I brought up that point doesn't mean I wasn't also making a decision.... whether it's worth my going for the MSP when I already have an iPadPro as my mobile studio. Given the only reason (for me) would be to use Corel Painter on it as opposed to my large laptop and Wacom Tab the answer for me is not right now, but maybe one day.

      Nicky Jameson I got my iPad pro last year in December. And the battery life runs out faster after having it a few months. And I tried to make animations and videos in it and it doesn't really make great quality animation videos, I used to easily upload and export videos and animations, but lately I'm having issues. Like it doesn't upload them anymore. Buttt I think it depends how you use it. Idk. But I'm planning on returning it and get my money back. At first time having it was realllyyy good....but.. It didn't work for me. There's a few more flaws of it... Like in the past 2 weeks my apps every now and then get glitchy. Also it doesn't let me download more apps anymore unless I have a credit card... Which I don't. So that's another shit show there. Id rather put my money on this wacom pro tablet. Buttt that's my opinion so yeah

    No doubt, that is a nice device, but if you are a professional artist, you don ´t need this. Wacom Intuos is good enough.

      Yeah, but not everybody likes drawing on a tablet while having to look at a separate screen. I use a Bamboo and even after 5 years I still hate having to look up at my monitor. It just doesn't feel natural even if it gets the job done. Not to mention you're pretty much confined to your desk if you use an Intuos or Bamboo. A Cintiq feels more like drawing on paper or a sketchbook which feels just so much more natural. And with the added mobility of a StudioPro, enabling you to work pretty much anywhere you want, it's the best possible device an artist on the go can get.

      The Problem is rather, with Intuos always being max size liek 30x20cm, it limits the possibilites of big strokes, without zooming in. Its the Main advantage of a Big Cintiq, that you can actuall draw like you would in figure drawing, and not having the need to zoom in, will give you a better form, bbecause you'll have the picture in view all the time.
      I talk from my personal experience. At Home iam using an Intuos 5 M which is fine for landscapes, painting in stuff and all that. But When you really ywant to go into figure drawing and have a proper lineart, I had the bbbetter experience at work with an Cintiq 22. It Allows for bigger, controled strokes, whilst on the Intuos you're forced to zoom in, to add details.
