You are an absolute legend for making this video. I followed it step by step to install an amp and sub into my '09 Territory and it makes such the huge improvement to the crappy door speakers.
Hi, thanks for the video mate, so I'm going to be doing this in my Ba wagon but will be running a Kenwood Head unit after purchasing the facia kit and custom stereo loom, would my sub & amp still be run the same way as in this ba?
The blue plug you have the remote in connected to can you run more than one item of that plug as i've got handsfree bluetooth running of that and want to connect a single din head unit/stereo as well?
With the line converter do you tap into only just the remote, right and left speakers? not the ground and i have the same converter should the lights light up?
i'm thinking of using a 4 channel line level converter for my Amp and parcel shelf speakers only (leaving front speakers alone). is it easiest if my line level converter is installed in the boot (where my sub and amp are) to make it easier to splice the wires together? and do i only plug in the speaker wires from the head unit to the line level converter?
Kyle McArthur the right way would be to pick up signal from each speaker at the front but you can go to the rears. Chop the speaker wire then use the signal side to go to each line level and the speaker side needs to run to the amp (rears). Just make sure you mount them securely and screw them in without screwing to far and going into the parcel shelf. Otherwise they’ll rattle and it’ll sound like sh*t
If I have an amp with front left/right RCA and back left/right RCA, can I just take from any as long as its left and right? I'm assuming the front and rear get the same signal and music doesn't fade front to back, only left to right?
Do i need a line converter if running an aftermarket headunit? Can i just run rca's straight off the unit to my amp then run speaker wires to my rear speakers? (Wont be using sub)
Hey mate got the same line level converter as you and was just wondering do all the wires need to be wired? And with the ground will I need to sand the paint or anything if I use the seatbelt bolt thanks :)
Hey mate I have a fg falcon and I removed a kicker sub and amp from the boot of the car buy cutting the cables and the excess from the boot and now the sound doesn’t work at all
Billy Crystal665 hey mate. Yep it will. You will need to pick up all 4 speakers so you can do one line level in front kick panel and the other on passenger side and run the RCAS over to one side (you choose which side) very important that, unlike this video, you don’t run RCA and power (battery) together. For small subwoofer application it’s fine, for speakers you need to run powers and rca on opposite side of the car to prevent noise (that annoying whining coming from speakers). So i would do the drivers side as I did in this video, run the RCA to passenger side, do the other one behind glove box (the rest of car speakers are there) and then run all 4 rca down passenger side. Powers run down driver side. Hope that helps
what if i have premium sound system can i run it off that or is it outdated? or add any slight modifications with out having to splice into the speaker wires?
Just the speakers - some of them have power and earth and will need that to work - mostly they don't. Also some have a remote output to go to the amp also.
@@TheFittingBay the one i have is the aerpro the same one as yours in the video. It has a power 12v cord and an earth cord. So would i have to attach these to body and cig lighter to work??
Brad Bosco Yep sweet as. So you don’t have to connect power. Just the speakers and it’ll do its thing. Same way we’ve done it here. The Audio GND gets connected if you have noise but if you’re doing a sub you will be fine. You can connect the power if you want then extend the blue remote cable to the amp . Either is fine. You can copy exactly what I’ve done here and it’ll work fine too
hey mate, just confused with the 'remote' part. Can I tap into the cigarette lighter 12V wire as remote as it only turns on when the car is in accessory or on?
I bought an amp and the guy said it didn’t need a line level converter because it’s a high level output amp, what would need to be done instead to run it without a line converter? Thanks
Hey mate I’ve got an issue where I’m getting no sound when my LOC is connected. My wires are sorded and taped up with the speaker wires. when the rca is slightly plugged it but not all the way in, I’m getting some sound but when the RCA’s are fully connected with the LOC I lose sound. Does this mean my LOC has to be ground or something?? I do have the same converter in the vid btw.
Journey Porter You can try giving it 12v and GND but I would first be following the RCAS to the amp and seeing if they have been damaged along the way.
The Fitting Bay ok so what’s happing is the sub is playing music when the volume is turning up and might cut out if any vibration happens for example the door shutting stops the music going to he sub 🤔u think it might be a speaker wire connection issue???
Journey Porter Did you check the the RCA cables? Could be that. Also if you get the sub pumping have someone look at the amp LEDS and then when the sub switches off after closing a door or whatever check the state of the amp then you can rule out power being an issue like a loose GND connection etc
Okay so what I get from this is that if I buy a line converter splice and run +&- from LF speaker and +&- from RF speaker and power from the battery can i use that loose blue plug as well to run remote line ? If so then all that would be left to do is to run cables down the trim and into the boot And plug in ? Cheers
Kahurangi Albert You don’t need to connect directly to factory radio. Amp only needs BATTERY GROUND REMOTE RCA SIGNAL To run a sub. So we connect directly to battery for power Short GROUND wire connected to body ACC from fuse box (remote) And line level converter - this turns speaker (high) level into RCA (low) level. So the amp sees the signal it needs and has power and will send power to the sub/s
Hey mate, with the line level converter did you only use the left and right speaker wires on the converter itself? Or did you use the red blue and black power, remote and gnd wires also?
Aussie Drift Only left and right. The other two are powers (red and black) and the blue gets power when it sees sound signal. Great for cars with CANBUS etc however the good old falcon just has Acc / IGN for radio power so you can use that
The Fitting Bay yeh thought that might be the case, cheers for that. Might have an issue with my sub then as everything is wired as per the video, amp lights up signalling power but no sound from the sub when playing music
Aussie Drift If you have all powers done just check the GND. A solid bolt or body part with no paint can help. Then Check the RCA connection is on the amp input (some amps have output) and if the amp has more than one speaker output or can be bridged try that. And just for testing purposes give the line level converted the power and GND. Usually rarely a product failure esp if new
Im lost with why you put a line level converter up the front and ran rcas all thr way back when you said it's a quick professional instal? Put the converter in the rear. Dont need to fuck around behind glove box and kick panel. Its all readily accessible in the rear and you dont need to run rca so far. Like cmon.
memdma If you want your line level converter banging around ya parcel shelf go for gold but already running power and remote from the front? So what’s a couple extra RCA cables. Now the converter is mounted behind kick panel nicely and if you ever wanna do a 4CH you know where it + speakers are. There’s layers to this sh**

Mate, you're a bloody guru. Big ups 👌
When I split into my audio cables in my falcon, I tapped into where the rear speakers where IN the boot So much easier
Harrison Burford Good idea! Where did you put the line level converter?
The Fitting Bay under the trim where the rear speakers are and cutting a hole for the speaker wires to go through
It’s hard time to explain

Hii i have 4 channel amp so which side should i do wiring and where i have to put line convertor

That blue wire is that your aux or does that run straight to amp
Amp turn on power so needs to be ACC/IGN

Can the brown audio ground and ground be joined and earthed together?
