When they said CIA, I thought man are they really pretending CIA would actually be fighting crime? ....and then they nailed it with the CIA being the crack distributor. "Oh For you?!? We have 2 vans full of it for free". Lol
Crack is incredibly easy to make, it's litteraly cocaine and baking soda. Anybody with a basic knowledge of chemistry could figure out how to make create crack. It's not at all unlikely that some clandestine chemist discovered how to make it, and started the ball rolling. People had been smoking freebase cocaine for years before crack, and baking soda is a base so it only makes sense. You wouldn't need a government agency to "invent" crack. I'm not saying the CIA has never done really shady shit, but the idea that they just "created" crack and sold it into black neighborhoods is fucking ludacris.
@@TheSP33DFREAK Exactly. Creating and distributing are two different things and the theories out there are that it was distributed not created by. Naturally none of us here in a WKYUK comment section actually would know, but hot damn I would not be surprised!
Not really, the CIA sold drugs, not give crack. Crack was introduced in prisons by doctors to curb aid due to injectable cocaine use. They literally researched how to make cheap cocaine that wasn't injectable and hit just as hard. The CIA also poisoned people with drugs, like LSD, but that's not giving.

Dude we all know this shit, it’s not a secret, the contra stoped democratic communist revolutions and replaced it with fascist dictatorships, the CIA killed jfk, the FBI killed Martin Luther king jr, and the Contra smuggled crack into the country so the CIA could distribute it to black neighborhoods
I like the idea that they were sitting in a van full of crack all day, trying to figure out a hip way to introduce it to the inner city only for the guy to throw them a total curveball about not wanting to get high lol
$100/oz isn't far off. Using a website that lists average drug prices for each state, an ounce of crack in Maryland averages 800-1000 an ounce. Adjusting for inflation, that'd be roughly $300-400 an ounce in 1984. So $100 is not TOO implausible a price. Maybe it was super cheap when it first took off and then the price rose as demand skyrocketed.
