@Bockwurst Imperator Same Poor pilot decision as Bryant. Too foggy then drop it down and LAND!!! I don't care if it's in someone's front yard, wait out the fog or fly low above the tree tops if visibility allows and get to a large parking lot somewhere. I would rather be an hour late than Never show up. Been flying since 82, and choose to land and wait out the weather in several occasions. Normally you can get over to a restaurant parking lot or grocery store and grab a bite while you wait.

After the Airwolf series ended, the Bell 222, that played the attack helicopter was sold to Germany where she was converted into an air ambulance. Tragically, in 1993, she was involved in a crash during an emergency hospital transfer. All onboard;the pilot, doctor, paramedic and patient received injuries that either killed them at the scene or in hospital shortly after. The cause of the crash was reported to be a failure of the main rotor gearbox that caused one or both engines to shut down during the flight.
I thought the crash was weather related... anyway, 1st time I read about a mechanical failure. Damn! :-( Airwolf still looks modern if not downright futuristic even today. And if you like seeing amazing stunt-heli flying, there's no better source than the Airwolf DVD disks for Seasons 1 thru 3! They did things with helicopters that I doubt anybody today would let them do (today it would almost all be CGI'd instead).... it was amazing stuff! :-O
Where did you get your information from? It was on the 6th of July 1992. The Crew was killed but not the little girl, because it happend on the flight back to Berlin. The cause of the crash was bad weather, not a malfunction.
As far as "stunt flying" is concerned, many, if not most, of the extreme maneuvers were 'in camera' performances, where the camera was rotated to make it LOOK like the Lady was pulling a loop, or an extreme Chantelle, or a Hammerhead stall, or other exotic aerobatic maneuvers. A 2-blade main rotor can NOT pull most of those maneuvers, period. It's just not aerodynamically possible. Now, if Belisario or someone decided to do a remake, using a Bell 430 (which has a FOUR-blade main)...and much more powerful engines...

I have a picture from April 1985 of Airwolf from the Long Beach Airshow in California. I was four and I remember that day clearly. They were filming an episode at Long Beach Airport called "Desperate Monday." They told the crowd to gather in a large circle and Airwolf would fly over and land in the middle of it. And that's exactly what happened. I remember looking up at Airwolf as it flew in thinking it looked huge. The picture I have that my mom took was right after it landed. I don't know if you would be able to include it in this video you posted but if you could that would be awesome so everyone could see it. No one has ever seen it before. I am now 39 and it's a memory that will be with me for the rest of my life.
That was an AWESOME tribute friend. I never saw the show much but,my brother and dad saw it. I see it every now and then when it is on t.v. She was an AWESOME chopper!!! : D
I have four RC AIRWOLFs of varying sizes, from a .90 with x-cell STRATUS mechaniics and Futaba radio, to a 450-size electric with Trex 450 mechanics. all have retracts, and all are equipped with navigation-lights and strobes, ecept the trex. Have AIRWOLF seasons 1-3 on DVD. Loved it 24-years ago.

Wow... what a great video! I am also an avid fan, as I still watch the series using my Netflix account's "Watch Instantly" feature. They have all four seasons on there to watch instantly in as good a quality as can be expected from such an old show. I have never seen some of these photos before. Ive read that there is a repro on display somewhere. The original one form the series does not exist anymore. After the show ended it was sold to a german helicopter charter company and was used as air ambulance in Germany. It crashed in a thunderstorm on June 6, 1992 after carrying a six year old girl from Berlin to a hospital in Cologne. Propably a engine failure due to a lightning hit. All three pilots were killed.
Saw her fly at a little airfield near Bakersfield in the 80s and again at a large airshow on the coast. Very cool bird. Certainly a one of a kind. Never to be reproduced it seems.

Finding her for real will be impossible buddy since the Airwolf of the show was build back after the end of the show and then sold to Germany. Later then it sadly crashed after a rescue mission on its way back to its base.
For those who live in the U.K & U.K ALONE!!! ( as far as I am aware of) AIRWOLF is on TV CH 31 ( SPIKE) at 6pm Mon to Fri re-runs. ( Just after STREETHAWK). I just read one of the other comments about AIRWOLF. & was sadly disheartened by it. That it crashed ( not sure if it was a original. Possibly!!!) somewhere in Germany I think. 😱😵😖 & has never been restored or rebuilt to it's former GLORY!!! Maybe someone with plenty of cash spare might have the good idea to have one made ( very, very closely designed to the exact one in the TV series). Let's hope so.

There is one in Museum of Aviation, in town called Sevierville and its in Tennessee!
