This game looks so crunchy! Does it live up to expectations? I've spent a couple of days browsing through and watching your videos for some Heroes 3 mod history btw! Great channel! Even if it doesn't get a lot of views, I for one really appreciate covering the early days of some of the biggest Heroes 3 mods! Early Forge is super interesting!
For me it does. SoC became my go-to game if I want to play a quick turn based game, and not a large Heroes III map. I think its also easier to get into as Heroes III for people who are not used to these kind of games. It has punch, its dynamic, feels quicker, but also has a lot of strategic depth, interesting interaction between units, and your wielder and their units. It's just a great game overall. It also has a lot of interesting solutions for some problems that Heroes had. The thing I play Heroes III for nowadays is the aesthetics and the sense of scale. Sometimes I just want to lose myself in the world of Might and Magic. I would say I play them equally often.
As a Scandinavian, I quite like how they designed the troll. It's quite authentic to Nordic culture.

@@Granto0611 that's awesome! I thought so myself. Heroes 3 just hit a specific string. But SoC looks amazing too. I love the pixel gfx
