She is definitily one the best singers out there today,not to mention a down to earth person who made it big .I also saw her in CT. & was probably one of the best concerts ive seen.she sounds the same live & on cd ,which the mark of a truly talented singer .She derves all the success that comes to her .

I am SO excited to see you in concert on Friday in Ottawa. I've been a fan since I saw your audition in Season 4 of American Idol and I nearly died when I found out you were coming here on tour.
You're so talented and I really look up to you as a person. You really deserve this, and again, Congrats.
I think the reason they kept so secret. It because how good Carrie is at figuring out it was coming. Opry wanted that reaction from Carrie. Total shocked at being the youngest member of the Opry, it is rare thing for them to inducted somebody that young. But, it well-deserve for her. Because she has done exactly what they figured was going to happen draw more people there, because her being such a good singer.

How about inducting someone that inspires our children especially our girls with uplifting songs? This woman chooses to cut song after song which are about damaging someone's vehicle because she's angry with them (Before he cheats), or songs about having sex with someone that she doesn't even know his name (Last name), or songs about purposefully letting her dad die when she could have saved him, even hoping he would die, just because she didn't like him. (Blown away), and what about a song about blackmail, murder and infidelity in "Choctaw county affair"? And the first line in the song "Chaser" is about how she is going to take drugs to help her forget some guy (nice message to kids). I'll continue. In the song Church Bells, she's poor, so she marries a rich man, only to murder him because she doesn't like some of the things he's done in his past. I could go on and on listing Underwood songs that indicate her lust for the depraved, but I'll finish with the song of two women that conspire to murder a man, once again, simply because they didn't care for his behavior. Underwood seems hell bent on finding and recording songs that couldn't be more morally corrupt. Parents, I encourage you to never buy a song recorded by this woman, and if you already have, get rid of them asap. Oh and Carrie, one more thing. How about recording a song in which you don't have to shriek. Thanks.

And that is rare for the Opry to do that. Because when Carrie's producer told her that I Told You So was going to be the next single, Carrie asked when do I do the video, producer told her, it was already done. Carrie answered what? Producer said they were using her performance at Opry as the video.

Randy Travis is an established country performer & songwriter- had quite a few hits back in the 80s & 90s (Diggin' Up Bones, Forever & Ever Amen, On The Other Hand), - Carrie covered his "I Told You So" beautifully (you hear part of it in this clip). Randy is VERY well respected in country music and a member of the Opry.
She is such a great person and singer. She totally deserved this and I will forever be so happy for her! She is one of the greatest country music singers of all time!!!
Before tv, cable, satellite, radio was the only way people could hear performers. Grand Ole Opry (country slang for Opera) broadcast from the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on WSM every Saturday nite. It is the 'shrine' to country music, and performers consider it the highest honor to be asked to join. Not everyone is asked - it's a very select group and shows how phenomenal this woman is that she's been invited.

They actually a very short version. Because the full version, it was about 7 to 8 minute version. Because it was Carrie's birthday week. And Randy said Happy Birthday to her, before he was surprised with the Opry invitation to be a member.

The Grand Old Opry was first a live show and radio program going back to the 1920s. The "founding fathers" of country music performed there, and to newcomers performing there was proof you'd "made it." Porter Wagoner, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Willy Nelson and other legends were regulars who became members.
Invitation to be a member of the Opry is country's highest honor. Amazing for someone so young and in the biz a few years to get an invite.

The Grand Ole Opry started out 80 years ago as a radio show and still is broadcast over radio - you can visit the Grand Ole Opry website and it tells you all about it - they now have a whole complex of buildings in Nashville, Tn where they have performances by country artists old and new

Have watched this many times. Came back to it because my heart is hurting. For Randy Travis. Life is a highway. Bumps, potholes and dead ends. From a dishwasher in a Charolette, NC club to the headliner. Randy paid the price. After so many years of being what you are suppose to be, you sometime explode. Kinda go crazy. Drive around naked. LOL Yea, who doesn t want to do that? Did he attack or hurt anyone? NO Walk a mile before you put him down. Even Lorrie Morgan made fun, but was respectiful.

It was great to see Carrie get inducted to the Opry. It has been two years now, and what a wise decision by the Opry management.
Carrie has done and won sooo much since then, which should quiet all the naysayers saying that she is too young or hasn't done enough yet.
