You said about it being a small and select few who watch all the way through. I had never even considered skipping through a vlog. I always think that if someone has gone to the trouble of uploading and I've subscribed, then I watch it. It wasn't until I started vloging that I saw the skip through rate on YT. It amazed me. I have put out 6 minute vlogs, 30 minute vlogs, and the skip through rate is the same. It is disheartening at times, but if you get a comment from me, then you know I'm a 100% watch. It still amazes me even now.
That's good of you and I have done the same with longer and shorter videos but the skip through rate never seems to change, which can be disheartening, especially when you consider the time, effort and expense it is to maker these videos. best thing is not to look at the analytics at all, I find that much better lol. Thanks for watching, cheers Alan
There's nothing like a soggy hike. I've just got to the point where you say you are 68. Wow, you must have The Picture of Dorian Gray in your attic. I retired a year ago, and I've been hiking for 9 months. It takes me about 3 days to feel human again after a 10 hike. I've followed Yasmin's progress for a while now in the Wainwright's, but sadly, it's too far for me to go on a day out. Mind you, there is plenty to explore in the Peak District, so I'll live the Wainwright's vicariously through your vlogs. Thanks for sharing, Alan.
Appreciate you stopping by and I complain about living in Co Durham and the drive over but to be fair I van be there in about 75 minutes, which is not too bad. I knew it was going to be a bit on the muddy side as the previous week had been rain every day but I was supposed to get full sun all day - don't know what happened there mind, as I never saw it once lol, cheers Alan
That ground looked a bit soggy. I'd hate to step off the trail into that mess. Cool to highlight others on the trail. Looked like a great route you took to the fells. Great to hear about your brother in law. It was a bit cloudy but the views were really nice. Great job on your adventure. Have a nice day.
According to the weather forecast we were due full sun all day but I never saw it once. Still, it was a great day and I met a couple of great people too, which always makes it a great day for me. Good of you to watch and I appreciate the kind words for my brother in law cheers Alan
Wow - six fells in one day! Well done, Alan! It was fun to hear how you got your metalman nickname. Glad to hear your brother's out of hospital, and hope his health continues to improve. Thanks for taking us on your awesome hike. I enjoyed seeing all the wonderful views and seeing the Great Cockup! Happy Birthday, young man! ❤🤗
Thanks very much for stopping by and your kind words, which are appreciated. A real fun day despite the gloomy conditions, I was told to expect full sun all day - another cockup lol! Cheers Alan
Hi Alan. We didn't expect you to turn 68 next week. You look much younger. 😊🤘🏻 The hiking trail looks very nice and this time without the wind. Finally your brother-in-law is out of the hospital and we hope he is doing well. Take care Alan and have a nice weekend. Cheers. 🍻 Sretana and Zac.
I may not look it but I sure feel it lol! It was a real nice hiking day out, despite not getting the full sun we were promised all day. Thank you so much for watching and the kind words about my bother in law, cheers Alan
Yeah, that is a funny name for a mountain 😄😆😅🤣😂. I totally don't blame you for cracking jokes along the way, lol. It's usually a bit more windy when you hike, but this time around, it wasn't. Still was cold, though I could tell. Excellent views, plus the scenery was very clear. Thanks for sharing your hike with us, Alan.
Thanks for stopping by Eric and on the highest summit you could hear a pin drop it was so still and quiet. A real good days hiking and despite it being a weekend it was so quiet there, I saw less than a handful of people all day. Cheers Alan
Thank you for sharing your beautiful hike with us. That is quite a few steps in one day! We used to hike the peaks in southern California, would love to get into that again, it is such a great feeling after a long hike. Glad to hear your brother in law is out of the hospital. All the best to you and your family. Enjoyed watching 😊
Thank you! You too! This was filmed 3 weeks ago now and things starting to warm up a bit but it has been none stop rain since unfortunately. Thanks so much for watching, cheers Alan
They sure did lol, often wondered who did give these Fells their names mind. Called in Mountain Wearhouse a couple of times in the week when we were in Keswick, nice place to shelter from the rain lol, cheers Alan
Hope you enjoyed it and got some great weather! Real good of you to watch and taking the time to leave a comment, real good of you and very much appreciated, cheers Alan
A Wainwright bagging fest Alan. A couple of temporary misplacements always makes the day more exciting 😲 Great news about your Brother in law 👌 You made light work of those Northern Fells. Great video Alan, really enjoyed it 👍 Thanks for sharing, ATB Alistair 👍
Thanks for watching and the kind words about my brother in law and yes, a real nice horseshoe, enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting too, despite the gloomy conditions. I was promised full sun all day by the mountain forecast, cheers Alan
Hi Alan well you did more steps in this one than we have just done today ! We just got home and only did 15, 211 so you beat us by just over 7, 000 😃 I didn't realise that you have done 120 Wainwrights already, these 6 today covered a beautiful area and you had the whole place to yourself except for the wild campers you bumped into ! Good thing you have the walking pole though to check how deep the boggy areas are and i love your energy tip of chocolate 🍫 It was interesting to hear how you got your metalman name too :) So glad to hear that your brother in law came out of hospital, I remember praying for him at the time you mentioned it but it seems like that was quite a long time ago, so he must have been there a while. Your Saturday date nights sound great with steak and chips and a film 😃 Enjoyed this one as always :) ~ Anna 👍
Thanks so much for watching Anna and I appreciate your good wishes for my brother in law, he has been through a real tough time and not over yet but he is starting to get better now. First time over in that area and a real nice and very quiet horseshoe, only saw a handful of people all day. Always look forward to Saturdays nights even after 42 years! Take care, cheers Alan
Thanks for watching and the good news about my brother in law. I always like a good laugh and at my age I do not care who I upset lol. Turned out to be a real nice and very quiet horseshoe this one, cheers Alan
Hi Alan, well the names of the fells made me smile. You did really well doing 6 in a day. Great story about your channel name. Glad your brother in law is now out of hospital. Yes you certainly need to know what you are doing when your walking alone. Watched till the end. Enjoy your steak and chips. Really enjoyed the video x
Haha, thank you I did, my favourite meal of the week. Really appreciate you watching and the good news about my brother in law, also watching till the end. It was a real fun day and despite it being a weekend, a real quiet day too, unusual for the Lakes, cheers Alan
Glad to hear about your brother in law. That’s good news. That’s quite a trip you’ve been on today. Whoever gave it that name must have had a sense of humor. 👍👍
Hope you enjoy it and you get better weather than we did. Fair enough it did clear for the last summit, which turned out to be the best one anyway, so still end up enjoying the day. Fingers crossed you have a great day too. Thanks very much for watching and taking the time to leave comment, cheers Alan
Really enjoyable Sunday night watch Alan. Me and me Mrs and 1 year old love watching the channel and were all raving metal heads 😂.can't wait for the next one 😊
Enjoyed this Alan, you had me laughing with you mate. We did this the other way round in September of 2022 and were fortunate to not encounter any bog, the benefits of a dry summer in 2022. Keep them coming, Glad your Brother in Law is our of hospital, Happy Birthday for the 12th and enjoy your upcoming Anniversary
Thanks for watching and the good wishes, I had intended to go the same route as you but to be honest, glad I made an initial mistake and di it the way round I did, a nice days hiking, despite not seeing the sun once. According to the Mountain Forecast it was supposed to be full sun on every summit, cheers Alan
6 in a day is a pretty good haul, Alan. Good to hear that taking the wrong path wasn't a cockup after all. Good to hear your Brother in Law is doing well.
Appreciate you watching Andy and the good news about my brother in law. It started off a bit of a cockup up but to be honest, the route I did take turned out to be the best way around, cheers Alan
Another great Metalman instalment! Always a nice, quiet walk on these particular fells - you only get people doing the Wainwright's here, or as in your case - wildcamping up there. I fondly remember those boggy sections. Cracking video, Alan. Keep 'em coming!
Yes, despite it being a dry Saturday the Fells were surprisingly quiet, which was a nice change for a weekend. I was supposed to be getting full sun on every fell top but happy that I kept dry. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
It was indeed and I was bushed by the time I go back to the car but had a big smile on my face. Good of you to stop by and I appreciate your good wishes, cheers Alan
^6 in a day.. Lots of ups and downs for sure... The ground was like a sponge... Carry on my friend... I will be out shoveling snow once again... 3rd day in a row now.
Tough work Max and brings back my days as a school caretaker clearing the snow off 2 schools, I used to prey for warm weather in the winter in those days lol. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Another epic hike! You always bring us to great hikes and trails Alan. Those mountains with different shades of brown and green are beautiful! Thanks for taking us along.
Glad you enjoyed it Rachel and I felt like I was but this was the last time I was out and it was 3 weeks ago, the weather has been pants Up North. Over the Lakes all week for out wedding anniversary from tomorrow but again the weather is rain but I may get a bit of filming done. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Hi Alan. Looked a great day's walking, even on an overcast day! A bit spongy in places and you definitely deserved a bigger summit cairn to finish up with!👍😁 Great to hear your brother-in-law is on the mend too👍👍
Thanks very much for watching and the good wishes regarding by brother in law and we were supposed to be getting full sun on every summit but I never saw it once all day, cheers Alan
Good hiking. Some of the wet areas could get sketchy. Hope your brother-in-law continues to improve. Keep hiking. I saw on the Internet that they are 214 Wainwrights. Thanks for sharing the video.
Yes 214 so only another 94 for me to do and I was hoping to get a good few of them done over March, which is traditionally a great month but the weather has been awful (this was filmed 3 weeks ago) but we are going to the lakes tomorrow for 5 days, so hopefully get some filming done then. Thanks so much for stopping by Carroll, cheers Alan
Oh Alan, you did exactly the same as us when we did the same route last year! We too ended up doing it all back to front! Great to relive it through your eyes, its a lovely loop of Wainwrights, but Great Cock Up itself is a bit of a disappointment at the top! Cheers, Simon
Turned out alright in the end as I would do it exactly the same way again if I did it. Real disappointing summit cairns on a few of them but a real nice loop, much better that I was expecting. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Thanks Alan and good of you to watch buddy. I was getting through them but this was over 3 weeks ago now and not been out since due to the awful bloody weather. Fingers crossed for next week, cheers Alan
Nice day of hiking Alan! I don’t know how you figure out which way to go on your hikes, but sounds like you made a good plan- it was great to get the hard part done first. Very pretty views, and a great accomplishment toward completing all the Wainwrights. Great to hear about where you channel name comes from! I wish we were having steak and chips for dinner, yum 😋 ☀️👍 Cheers- 😄
It's my favourite meal of the week and my favourite night of the week, always look forwards to Saturday nights. A real good days hiking and despite the weather ( it was supposed to be fun sun all day), I had a great time. Thanks very much for stopping by Jen, cheers Alan
Great cockup, little cockup, snigger snigger hehe 😂😂😂 reminds me of a mountain in Germany called Mount W*nk 😂😂😂. Anyway great and entertaining video, no cockups in sight. Have a super Sunday cheers from barnyz 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching and despite being on my own, I enjoyed the day as well as having a good laugh too, especially when I kept remembering the names of some of those Fells lol. Thanks very much for stopping by, cheers Alan
It would be a great round for a run Olga, lots of ups and downs but nice paths to navigate and great scenery all the way too, I am sure you would love it. Thanks so much for watching, cheers Alan
Absolutely a wonderful place to explore. Such a great hike Alan! It's a little cloudy but still great views. Also wishing your brother-in-law continued health. Have a nice week my friend.
Thanks very much for watching and it was supposed to be full sun all day, so I was a bit disappointed with the weather but at least I kept dry all day, always thankful for that lol. Appreciate your good wishes for my brother in law, cheers Alan
Hey Alan 😊 hahahaha 😂 loved that you just kept laughing at the name great Cockup. I remember arriving at the tiny pile of rocks there and joked to my mate Sarah ‘well someone cocked up the cairn, it’s tiny’ 😅 . Was good to see the different approach you done to brae fell. That looked steeper than the way up I went. I think I went up brae fell the way you came down. Very glad to hear your brother in law is feeling better 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Yasmin and thank so much for watching. It was supposed to be full sun on all summits from 09.00 - 16.00, yet I never saw the sun once but I still had a good laugh and enjoyed myself, cheers Alan
I’m glad your brother in law is out of the hospital. Thank you for taking us along to explore this beautiful land! Even on an overcast day it’s still nice. Have a blessed weekend! 🕊
Thanks Kat and good of you to stop by. I always say we just take good health for granted but I sure give thanks for it every single day. Take care, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN Your welcome. Yes I understand that, as my 40 year old daughter was in the hospital for two weeks in February. She is out and doing better, but still needs oxygen sometimes (it’s never very far from her). I’m hoping she will shake it off soon and take better care of herself. If we have our health, we are fortunate. God Bless!
That's a few fells in a day! Good going. I know the feeling of thinking you're almost at the top, just to find out there is another top to climb just behind it! 😊 All the best! Kaat
Very true and the second Fell has so many false summits I was LOL at the end, it was so unreal. Still, a fun day in a new area for me, so I really enjoyed myself, cheers Alan
Happy birthday Alan and congrats on the wedding anniv, too. Good news about your brother in law as well. I always watch to the end, afraid of missing something! I think your 6th fell top was a bit flat, but we will say no more about that. Looked a nice hike, quite long but dry, and clear. Another 6 wainwrights is a great result. All my hiking plans keep hitting snags, start running again this week but Andrea has me painting and digging. Roll on summer regards, Ashley
Roll on summer indeed, we just got back from 5 days in the lakes and we had one sunny day and 4 wet days. Appreciate you watching and the good news about my brother in law and a good day bagging another 6 Wainwrights, on a very quiet day too, considering it was a weekend, cheers Alan
Great stuff Alan - another very early one - and a wonderful more quiet area around the Back o’Skiddaw Looks like you had a good day - no wind and although no Sun still some cracking views. Well over half way on the Wainwrights now mate. 🎉🎉👍👍 Glad your brothers doing better now 👍 I’ve been to that venue in Birmingham - (Sabbath territory)!! Well it didn’t look too much of a Cockup despite the peat bogs of doom 😃😃. Love it how you kept chortling at the names 🤣🤣🤣 A really relaxing watch.and a great view of Skiddaw on the way Have a good week mate and a happy birthday for next week
Thanks very much for watching and your very kind words and yes, we had some great nights down at The Old Wharf in Brum, fun times indeed. We were supposed to have full sun all day but that never happened but to be fair I kept dry all day, so happy with that, cheers Alan
Thanks 👍, good of you to stop by and appreciate the kind words regarding my brother in law. Not the full sun weather I was expecting or promised but I still had a great day, always enjoy a dry hike and a good laugh, cheers Alan
Best way to start the weekend with a cool climb like this :) little cock up made me giggle too :D Always nice meeting people on your travels. Cool to know the story behind your user name :) So glad your brother in law has got better 🙏 Happy birthday for 12 March and I know your away celebrating your anniversary so have a wonderful celebration xxx beautiful views up there loved when you cracked up there... im the same so many times im filming and i break out into hysteria lol
It was hard to keep a straight face on this one and I often wonder who actually names these Fells, whoever it was must have a good sense of humour lol. Real nice of you to watch and I appreciate your kind words and good wishes. We just got back from 5 days in the lakes celebrating our anniversary, the first day was brilliant with full sun and blue skies but it was none stop rain after that, with me slipping on wet rocks and banging my knee yesterday. Still, I was just grateful we were able to get away and no matter the weather, we always have a good time and a good laugh, cheers Alan
Happy belated birthday Alan and happy anniversary ❤. Amazing hike and great views over the fells. Yes lots of ups and downs and I hear ya on if you did it over again doing it a little differently. Great day outdoors
Hi Alan. Didn't bag as many as you yesterday. Intention was 7 and I bailed at 4. Longlands, Brae Fell and Knott. Headed to Great Calva it was a flat no. Headed back up towards the Knott, then across the valley to the bottom of Great Cockup. I was tired so went back to car. So I will visit again and do Bbakestall and Great Calva as a pair. Then Great Cockup and Meal Fell.
Still did well Julie and a good excuse to go back and do the rest as it is a real nice area as well. It was a Saturday when I went and real surprised at how quiet it was, so not a honeypot area. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
A great day ticking wainwrights off Alan , I did a similar collection from fellside before Xmas and yes plenty of bog trotting if I remember well. Especially when I dropped off Knott towards Lingy hut 😂 looks like you had a good day out tho 👍 atb Dave
It was a good day Dave, had me smiling all the way around, well, apart for that bog I had to go over twice but a real nice round to be fair,. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Lovely walk them northern fells Alan ...I did it the way you planned to and I wished I had done it the way you did .. really boggy walk in spots as you showed at least the weather held for you ..ATB Andrew ⛰️👍
Yes, pleased about that Andrew, although the mountain forecast said full sun all day on all the summits - never seen it once lol. The route I ended up on was so much better, real pleased I ended up doing it that way. Thanks very much for witching, cheers Alan
Gorgeous hike Alan! That’s really amazing that you were able to do 6 fells ending up at the Great Cockup. You have your own unique way to do it and what a feeling of satisfaction looking back with all the fells where you came from . . Wow, 22,653 steps , that’s a great accomplishment for the day!
Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed it. I know I enjoyed a nice hot bath when I got back home, my feet were aching lol. Thank you so for for stopping by, cheers Alan
Thanks for the kind words and for watching too. A nice easy 6 as well but man a couple of those summits, I was like "It that the cairn!" Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Pleased to hear about your brother-in-law. Can't honestly believe you're 68, 58 maybe, just! Gonna have to get myself to those Wainwright's, looks nice up there, I'm based in Cheshire at moment so not too far away (health issues can prevent me from getting out an about as much as I'd like though) Stay safe out there, All the best Dave (and Buddy the doggo)
Thanks very much for watching and after bashing my knee yesterday after slipping on wet rock I sure feel 68m today lol. Mrs Metalman used to do a load of hiking with me and climbed Ben Nevis with me but her asthma is stopping her doing any real high climbing now, which is a shame. Appreciate you comments about my brother in law, cheers Alan
Hi, Alan. Happy happy happy early birthday! You look far young at your age.. Congratulations to your successful happy life and the completion of the 90 hikes. What? 120 more to go! WOW..the soil is saturated pretty much. 2:59 what is causing this? rain or melting ice? Fascinating to learn the route to destinations. Enjoy your documentation and your sense of humor throughout the hike as always. I look forward to more exciting hike to watch. Thank you, Alan. See you next time.
Thanks so much for watching and some Fells are just naturally boggy, no matter what time of the year you go, something I hate when I am hiking. I had a lot of fun on this hike, especially when I kept thinking about some of the named Fells, I do not know who came up with the names but I guess they had a sense of humour, cheers Alan
Very childish schoolboy humour Alan for somebody who’s 68! 😂😂🤩 Great walk that and six Wainwright’s bagged, AW would be proud of you. Your mountain fitness makes me somewhat jealous, I was out of breath just watching this 😮💨 however, one thing that was missing was the end film/photo of the tea and cake or even beer???????
Well I was trying to keep it under the 15 minutes, which I think I succeeded. Given it was the weekend, I could not believe at how quiet it was, only saw less than a handful of people all day and given it was forecasted to be full sun all day (don't know where it was hiding mind), I thought it would be real busy. Thanks very much for watching and this was filmed over 3 weeks ago now and never been out since as the weather Up North has been pants, cheers Alan
Wowsers Alan. 6 in one. Looked like a good bit of solitude up there too. I’m like you mate great Cockup Little Cockup 😂😂. Love it. We have started our training walks. 5 miles Sat on the flat mind. My hip and Kim’s knee both in bits but we are making a start. Find you an inspection mate. 👏🏻. Glad your brother in law is on the mend now. Right off to work. 😭. Catch you again soon. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️
I really appreciate you watching and the good wishes about my brother in law and a real good days hiking. I always remember I very first training session for the Great North Run half marathon about 20 years ago, a slowly jogged to out bus stop about 200 yards from my house and had to stop as I thought I was having a heart attack. Fitness is all about taking to slow, taking it steady but doing it regularly. Take care buddy, cheers Alan
0:42 I'll try my best .... 2:00 "Hello" ........ 5:20 The distinguished SIR METALMAN !!!!!!! ..... 11:00 This is as high as the cockup goes .... 13:40 Have a great one.
A real fun day out, even though I was by myself. It was supposed to be full sun all day but never seen it once but I kept dry, so that was good enough for me. Thanks very much for stopping by, cheers Alan
Watched this at my mums when it aired! Loved how much the name tickled you, to be fair the more you said it, it tickled me too! Great news about your brother in law being out of the woods. What a great circuit and so quiet on a Saturday apart from the nice people you met! Six Wainwrights is some achievement, I don’t think many others could do it, regardless of their age. Glad we are in the small select group that watch from start to finish. It is fascinating watching the duration go down on the studio. On a friday night i watch the time almost be the same length as the video, as the weekend progresses it drops a few minutes and then when the more questionable viewers come along it drops almost to half! Its a good indicator as to who is bringing the average down! steak and chips saturday now that sounds awesome. I wonder what film you watched that night?
You got me trying to remember now lol. We normally watch a box set through the week but always like a film on a Saturday night and had done for years. It is so frustrating the time, the money and effort you put making a 12 minute film and then after realising it, yet within 2 minutes later the first comment comes in saying 'Great Video', I feel like answering 'how would you know you have only watched 2 minutes if that'. I always try to be positive and think if someone got something out of it, it was still well worth the effort. A real nice horseshoe and so quiet as well, especially for a Saturday morning. Thanks so much for a full watch, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN always our pleasure. Really enjoy your videos. We even get comments on premieres that havent aired saying nice video. They must be time travellers.
Great walk Alan isn’t it such a let down when you reach the summit and it’s just a small pile of stones and no trig point. I wonder what the requirements are for a peak to have a trig point. 👍👍
I know what you mean, such a disappointment but to be fair, if I get a good view from the summit I am happy. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
I always enjoy a could laugh and some of the names of those Fells had be rolling about, I don't know who came up with the names of them lol. Thanks very much for stopping by, cheers Alan
Morning Al, Great cock up not so great trig or summit cain !! I’m 100% gunna do this exact route, it’s a good one to get a few summits ticked off the list ! Trying to work out if it would be decent for a camp ? Looked very boggy in places Nice one mate speak soon 🤜🤛
It was much better than I was expecting Al, so really enjoyed it ad ye it was boggy in parts but the previous week had been wet, so I was expecting the mud. Plenty of places to camp and a nice free park as well, so you should be fine marra. Appreciate toy you watching, cheers Alan
Whos your favourite Metal band Mr Metal man ?? Give me a list of 5 your first Metal discovery and your fave singers guitarist drummer album and song cheers Al😊
Wow just about an impossible task but I will tell you the first bands to get me into metal and that has to be Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Motorhead and two bands that you could argue are more Hard Rock than metal but they were - the first band I ever saw live - Deep Purple and then the following year Led Zeppelin with both tickets costing 0.80p and £1 respectively (I still have the ticket stubs). Singers it has to be RJD and Rob Halford but two of my other favourites are two much underrated singers, Blackie Lawless from WASP and Sy Keeler from my favourite British thrash band Onslaught. Albums, songs etc impossible to put any in order lol. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
@Alan METALMAN - Outdoors Fantastic response buddy... just done Binsey this weekend after watching your great video for the fell... Very nice hike, cool views!
Thanks for watching, real nice of you and a nice days hiking, despite the gloomy weather, cheers Alan
Majestic landscapes, absolutely stunning scenery! You presented this whole trail so nicely! Views from the top are fantastic!🥾🥾
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for watching. Not the sunny day I was wanting or even forecasted but I still had a fun day, cheers Alan
Thank you so much for stopping by and the kind wishes for my brother in law, very much appreciated, cheers Alan
What a great hike. It is so wonderful to get out more as spring is on it way.Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
Thank you! You too! This was filmed 3 weeks ago now and things starting to warm up a bit but it has been none stop rain since unfortunately. Thanks so much for watching, cheers Alan
Wishing your brother in law continued health. Up & down. Looks tiring! Thanks for taking us along with you! All those fells are pretty beautiful.
Appreciate the good wishes and the time you took to watch and comment, real good of you, cheers Alan
Great going Alan! Six Wainwrights in a day! Some one had a sense of humour when they were naming the Fells🤣🤣👍👍
They sure did lol, often wondered who did give these Fells their names mind. Called in Mountain Wearhouse a couple of times in the week when we were in Keswick, nice place to shelter from the rain lol, cheers Alan
Done this walk this morning. This video is perfect preparation !
Hope you enjoyed it and got some great weather! Real good of you to watch and taking the time to leave a comment, real good of you and very much appreciated, cheers Alan
A Wainwright bagging fest Alan. A couple of temporary misplacements always makes the day more exciting 😲
Great news about your Brother in law 👌
You made light work of those Northern Fells.
Prayers to you and your family my friend
Much appreciated John, good of you :o)
Hi Alan well you did more steps in this one than we have just done today ! We just got home and only did 15, 211 so you beat us by just over 7, 000 😃 I didn't realise that you have done 120 Wainwrights already, these 6 today covered a beautiful area and you had the whole place to yourself except for the wild campers you bumped into ! Good thing you have the walking pole though to check how deep the boggy areas are and i love your energy tip of chocolate 🍫 It was interesting to hear how you got your metalman name too :)
So glad to hear that your brother in law came out of hospital, I remember praying for him at the time you mentioned it but it seems like that was quite a long time ago, so he must have been there a while.
Excellent video nice sharing
Thanks very much for watching, I really appreciate it, cheers Alan
Had a good chuckle at that one Al! Can’t beat a childish belly laugh! Glad to hear your brother in law is on the mend! All the best!
Thanks for watching and the good news about my brother in law. I always like a good laugh and at my age I do not care who I upset lol. Turned out to be a real nice and very quiet horseshoe this one, cheers Alan
CONGRATULATIONS on reaching the six Summit
Thank YOU :o)
Love the scenery, have a great day
Thank you! You too! Real good of you to stop by, cheers Alan
You got that right and I really appreciate you watching and the good news about my brother in law. Take care, cheers Alan
Doing this tomorrow Alan. Thanks for the inspiration 👏💪🙏
Glad you enjoyed it and real good of you to watch and take the time to leave comment, real nice of you all, cheers Alan
Very well made video as always Alan 🎉
Thank you so much 😀, a chilly day as I remember but a really good one. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
We're happy to hear that your brother in law is on the mend! That was a lot of walking in one day!
Thank you for watching, real nice of you and a real fun day, hardly saw anyone else all day, despite it being the weekend, cheers Alan
Well... that was a little tiddler of a cairn for a fell called Gt Cockup!!! Good stuff reaching 120 Wainwright summits, smashing through them!
Nice little round Alan. You’re getting through them quickly. Well done.
Like 117 Alan - with a FV as always
Thanks for the visit Mark, appreciate it buddy, cheers Alan
Great cockup, little cockup, snigger snigger hehe 😂😂😂 reminds me of a mountain in Germany called Mount W*nk 😂😂😂. Anyway great and entertaining video, no cockups in sight. Have a super Sunday cheers from barnyz 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching and despite being on my own, I enjoyed the day as well as having a good laugh too, especially when I kept remembering the names of some of those Fells lol. Thanks very much for stopping by, cheers Alan
Hehe squishy hike. Beautiful regardless. Nice video again Alan
Glad you enjoyed it and real nice of you to watch, a dull day, a muddy day but always a fun day, cheers Alan
What a journey! I've never done these peaks myself. Would like to do them. Thank you for sharing, Alan, great film.
God Bless!
Another great hike. Glad to hear your brother-in-law is doing better.
Thanks so much for watching and I appreciate your kind words regarding my brother in law, real good of you, cheers Alan
That's a few fells in a day!
Good going. I know the feeling of thinking you're almost at the top, just to find out there is another top to climb just behind it! 😊
All the best!
@@AlanMETALMAN The weather can play havoc with our plans, still I'm sure you had a nice break.
@@ashleyjarnold - we came back a day early as Mrs Metalman had been unwell but we still made the most of it :o)
Great stuff Alan - another very early one - and a wonderful more quiet area around the Back o’Skiddaw
Looks like you had a good day - no wind and although no Sun still some cracking views.
Well over half way on the Wainwrights now mate. 🎉🎉👍👍
Glad your brothers doing better now 👍
I’ve been to that venue in Birmingham - (Sabbath territory)!!
Well it didn’t look too much of a Cockup despite the peat bogs of doom 😃😃. Love it how you kept chortling at the names 🤣🤣🤣
A really relaxing watch.and a great view of Skiddaw on the way
Have a good week mate and a happy birthday for next week
Thanks very much for watching and your very kind words and yes, we had some great nights down at The Old Wharf in Brum, fun times indeed. We were supposed to have full sun all day but that never happened but to be fair I kept dry all day, so happy with that, cheers Alan
Flippin heck Alan… 68?
When we met in Little Mel, I honestly thought we were very close to the same age… and I’m 56!
Walking is doing you well!
Haha, one thing for sure, I sure feel 68, especially after doing 12.5 miles in the lakes yesterday lol :o)
Great looking car you have there Alan! Happy to hear that your brother-in-law is feeling better. 4 summits in a day? Great job! Ok, make that 6!
Thanks so much for the good wishes and taking the time to watch, real good of you, cheers Alan
Great hike Alan 👍
Thanks very much, a real good days hiking, despite the gloomy weather. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Great hike and sharing 👍👍
Thank you :o)
Gorgeous hike Alan! That’s really amazing that you were able to do 6 fells ending up at the Great Cockup. You have your own unique way to do it and what a feeling of satisfaction looking back with all the fells where you came from . . Wow, 22,653 steps , that’s a great accomplishment for the day!
Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed it. I know I enjoyed a nice hot bath when I got back home, my feet were aching lol. Thank you so for for stopping by, cheers Alan
Another 6 knocked off 💪👍that was a feeble summit cairn on great cockup😂good news on your in law👍
Thanks for the kind words and for watching too. A nice easy 6 as well but man a couple of those summits, I was like "It that the cairn!" Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Another belter mate!!
Thanks very much, appreciate it :o)
Pleased to hear about your brother-in-law.
Can't honestly believe you're 68, 58 maybe, just!
Gonna have to get myself to those Wainwright's, looks nice up there, I'm based in Cheshire at moment so not too far away (health issues can prevent me from getting out an about as much as I'd like though)
Stay safe out there,
All the best
Dave (and Buddy the doggo)
Ones you reach the top,all you have to do is go down again haha.
Good news about your brother in law.
Take care Metalman
Thanks so much for watching and I appreciate your kind words. A good day out and a fun day both, both of them things makes me happy, cheers Alan
amazing video!! 🙌
Thank you! Real good of you to watch and leave a comment, cheers Alan
Hmm you and your cockup had too much fun with this one. 😂😂😂
Haha yes, I kept breaking into laughter all the ay around, which was slightly worrying lol. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
I don't remember half of what you had to say other than cockup. LOL made yourself laugh. good one Alan. Take care
Looked very boggy in places
Nice one mate speak soon 🤜🤛
