10:53 being up there sounds so magical. If I had a tree web I would sit In it every day. This is the one place I would read most. I would build an entire camp up there, and would sleep in it fairly often. Just knowing that during the winter I would be able to hear the sounds of rain on a tarp while up there would bring me joy

i was a rigger in the army and we used these kind of ropes for parachute packing, and also packing loads that we would later send off planes etc. They are special ropes with microfibers inside that give them incredible strength and they hold up a lot of weight.

Whelp... thats another thing thats now on my bucket list.... probably safer if I had a pro to teach, but I think I get the basics enough. im comfortable climbing radio masts and cranes with no harness, and can still tie most of my boyscout knots via muscle memory, so I should be fine. I know of a Norfolk island pine tree my Dad planted 30-something years ago that Ive wanted to put a Ham radio antenna up for years, but dont have a long enough peice of coax to run the feedline to where my shack normally gets set up. what a solution, build a web up the tree and just operate from there! Id love to make some DX contacts, being able to say "transmitting from a rope web 20m up a tree". Its right on the beach, so has excellent radio properties, the sea eagles like to perch on the top to keep a lookout for schools of fish.

Here in Finland i find either short trees that are climbable, or semi tall trees that are actually just trunk and leaves, but these bad boys are bigger than the biggest finnish honka while still having branches all the way up. Would be a pleasure just climbing that, nevermind living in a goddamn net.
