Personally when she fumbled the audition I didn’t think “she can’t sing” I thought “she was completely unprepared and nervous but actually has a solid voice” If it was the same actress I think it’s a huge accomplishment from Stephanie Beatriz to show the same voice in two very different contexts. One an unpolished nervous wreck the other a Broadway knockout.

Ok... So... I really, REALLY love the darkest aspects of this show. I watched it until the middle of season 3 and my favourite moments were the heart-crushing ones (and Brrap Brrap Pew Pew... Cause it's hilarious), but then I just stopped. I have watched most of the best episodes from seasons 4-5, and I'm really impressed, but to me it feels like a decent-enough show with some really unique, shiny moments of pure brilliance. I really don't like the animation style, and most of the humour isn't my taste. Is it worth to watch the whole thing? Or am I OK skipping to the good stuff? I have, like, zero time, and other shows to watch too. Please, let me know what you guys think (if you want). If it's absolutely worth it I'll have to do it.
personally I think you should try to watch it all, because this show has coninuity and you might miss some pretty good bits by skipping to the important episodes
It's not a scene we've seen (yet), the woman is the makeup artist from Horsin' Around. When BoJack and Diane have their big argument at the Philbert premiere, he starts listing the terrible things he's done to people and one of the things he mentions off-hand is something bad he did to her.
My thought was it was a reference to when Bojack slept with the moms of the Horsin' Around kids in the early seasons (maybe season 1), or one of the other scenes at the Horsin' Around backstage with Sarah Lynn's mom.
