They managed to find a horn fragment grind it up use water to make a paste and put it on the top of another rabbit's head and sure enough it grew.
There's also a rabbit papilloma virus that causes horn-like tumors to grow from the rabbit's face and head that some believe also explain the jackalope sightings.

My dad gave it to me as a joke (it used to be on the wall of his gun store, and he took it with him when the store went under), and was hilariously grumpy that I actually liked it. Little guy's been with me through a house full of roommates, and now hangs on the wall in the living room of the apartment I share with my boyfriend, mostly because it _does_ annoy him that I kept it. 🤣

Pronghorn are colloquially called antelope so that might explain it. Although IDK if it's always been the case.
