I’m from Massachusetts. My dad’s side of the family immigrated to Salem from England in 1629. I’m related to Reverend John Hale through marriage. My 8th great grandfather married his sister, Joanna Dodge (Hale). If you see Dodge Street in Salem it was named after my family. Also, my cousins Lydia and Captain George Dodge are buried in the Old Burying ground. They’re the last two tombstones on the right near the exit gate. 😊
@@shelovesthenight1894 That is wild you said that because my family is also Dodge and migrated from England, from my understanding Dr.Dodge and his family were on the titanic. Wonder if I am connected to Salem at all?
Many of the accused lived in and the trials took place in modern Danvers (Salem Village). Modern Salem (originally called Salem Town) has taken advantage of the tourist interest in the topic, but Danvers still has many of the historic buildings and homes related to the accused. I hope you can visit sites in Danvers too.
Witch City Wicks has the best candles! I have a monthly candle subscription through them. I get a new candle every month sent to my house in Arizona from their shop in Salem. I love it so much.
Dream trip for me. One day! Not going there near Halloween, seen enough videos of the crowds. A quiet, cloudy, rainy day would be perfect! Thanks for sharing!
When we go, it's on a weekday during the third week of October. Saturdays and Sundays are crazy busy -- that's where you'll see those crowds! I highly recommend making reservations for dining and purchasing tickets online when possible for any specific places you want to tour. Not all places allow online ticket purchases. Off-season (after October) is also nice but some places may be closed. I hope you get to take this dream trip soon! 🙂
i got the coolest hand held lamp from Nocturne! It looks like an old candle you would walk around with but its electic!! Even has a flicker setting it sets the mood when i'm reading
Oh I love this! I have been watching your videos the last few weeks enjoying your Halloween shopping and see you stopped by our shop, Nocturne! Thanks so much for the love. Two worlds colliding. So cute 🥰
Coven’s Cottage, The Black Veil and Hive and Forge are also really great stores in Salem. Also, there’s a separate memorial for the victims at the actual location where they were hung (pinpointed after many, many years of research) and i hope you were able to go there. So happy you made it here, there’s no place like Salem!
This is my bucket list place to visit. Witchy goodness all around. Plus the history and I can only imagine the aura this place has. I love how this dark historical time in history was turned it on its head and is now a mecca for witches everywhere.
Thank you both for taking us on your Summerween road trip!! I've been wanting to go to both Salem and Sleepy Hollow, so these videos have been so fun for me. Tampa Jay did a great job being a fun tour guide in his Sleepy Hollow video.
Oh my god, I see your house all the time! I love your house and I always comment that it's so cool when I pass by and that it has one of my flag identities up there!
Cris, while you are there, don't forget to pick up things you find on the ground, such as sticks/ rocks, leaves, go into the parks and gather. I found it to be fun. Go over to the wharf---go to the waters edge. You will find wonderful finds...shells, etc. I've been the several times and found that opening up my box of Salem finds in nature is the best things I have in my collection
Right on….I was there last week Wednesday too. My first time on vacay in Massachusetts. Super historic from American , Salem History and to end the vacay Friday Baseball at Fenway park
Thanks for making this, I was there 5 years ago and definitely love seeing all the new shops and experiencing it through your eyes! Inspires me to plan a new trip!
I’m from Salem and Beverly (the town across the bridge). So many hometown memories. The best place in the world to grow up. I’m sure house of the seven gables is on your list- that’s a must-see. And if you have a car and time Bears neck in Rockport is just 20 minutes away and it’s a quaint fishing village. Home of motif #1- which you will see virtually everywhere. Enjoy New England!
I loved every part of Salem you showed us today. It made me happy to see you so happy there. Thank you for sharing your good fortune with us . I appreciate your work, time and the love you put into your videos.
Glad you came earlier than the tourist season! I'm kind of scared for all the tourists! The traffic and parking is crazy, we used to make signs in art class to charge 40 dollars in our school parking lot when I was younger. But either way, I hope you had a fun time! It's nice to see people enjoy our town so much!
Yay!!! was waiting for your video!! This was great Cris! It’s on my bucket list of places. I love seeing it from your perspective. It was a great pace and informative. Thank you for sharing your day and am glad you get to turn off the camera to enjoy your visit. Have a wonderful time! Looking forward to your haul ! ❤️🦇 safe travels! Hi to Tampa Jay! Will be watching his vlog too!
Amazing video and I love watching Salem vlogs ❤❤ Just wanted to let you know that you might need to check your camera stabilisation settings because whenever you are moving around in the shops it's just difficult to make out stuff unless the camera is held still 🙈🙈
Thank you so much for these videos in Salem ! It is so exciting ! I went for the 1st time last year, with my mom and sister, but they are way less excited than me with witch stuff and it was crowded in october, so now watching your videos and it looks awesome and I saw stuff that I missed, I just want to go back soon by myself or with a witchy pal. 😂
I Love Halloween and the whole fall season, I go to as many Halloween events I can, it's my favorite holiday even though they still need to make it a holiday. I have heard and seen so many videos, pictures of Salem, I can wait to go one day. Meanwhile I do thank you for giving us a little tour, love it
I just visited Boston in July for the first time and split off to do a day In Salem. So Gladys did and definitely want to go back in the fall. It has been fun reliving my vacation through your video!
I've always wanted to visit up Salem (and surrounding areas) as well but after seeing lots of videos agree that it would definitely be a place to go twice. It looks so fun at Halloween, but also extremely crowded. Can't begin to imagine doing what you're doing here during Halloween time. I just watched your shopping haul before this and I'm blown away at the amazing boutiques. I'd be in heaven 😍
So much history and character there. As a Canadian, I did not realize the multiple locations, increible museums. Wouls love to visit Massachusetts. So much incrible American history
Smart Woman, she’s right bad energy is the perfect description word is it can open one up to all kinds of menace. Best advice given to me was to stay far away
I heard a story from an old gay Irish man named William who worked as a receptionist at Regent’s College in London, he said he knew a girl who got a demonic attachment from a ouija board and had to get an exorcism, very unpleasant business 😅
I also told my daughter NO! But I did say if she felt the need to buy one to take it to her dads but that if I was her I wouldn't mess with them period! So she took a piece of cardboard and made her own!
I get the shops are cool to buy this witchcraft stuff. I'll probably be one of those as I'll be going there in Oct. And wanna take something home with me. We all want souvenirs of our trip to Salem. But I need to ask, why are people buying stuff that promotes witchcraft when so many inosisnt women die there, being accused of being witches , but they were inosisnt people?
While you're in the area, maybe look into checking out Hammond Castle in Gloucester Massachusetts. It's just north of Salem. You can do both guided and self guided tours and the admission should still be only $10 per person. Beautiful old castle right on the ocean front.
Shop at Witch City Wicks. Enjoy House of the Seven Gables and Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery such an amazing city. Go on a walking tour for sure. Only been once back in OCT 2018.
Did you and Tampa Jay drive to Massachusetts from Florida ? Because depending on how much you buy. It could be difficult to get all the spooky stuff you bought on a plane.
Hilarious that Edge of Seventeen came on just before you left that one shop. Someone once told me her music plays in all of those witch shops. Hmmm... wonder why?
We stayed a little outside of Salem in Danvers at a Best Western! We very much enjoyed it, clean hotel and best stay of our entire trip tbh. If you have a car and don’t mind driving about 10 mins I would def recommend it! Thank you for watching, so glad you enjoyed the videos!!🖤
Going to be moving there soon ! My family built and owned the house of seven gables . Im bringing my family back to be part of Salem again . Hope to see you guys there sometime ! Happy Halloween !

Dude, you guys are in Salem! I work in tourism in downtown, Boston and send customers to Salem all the time! Have fun out there! If you wanna travel into Boston, take the 'fast ferry' or commuter rail train (purple line)! Either way, enjoy yourselves!
This is perfect timing. We'll be going to Salem for the first time ever next week. Traveling from Texas to Mass! By car!! I found out relatively recently that John Proctor III, the very child Elizabeth Proctor was pregnant with during the trials, is my 10th great grandfather. I had no idea. This video has been very helpful for me to see kinda what to expect when we get there, which is very nice when you have a young child in tow. 😅 Thanks for sharing your vacation with us! 💜
I enjoyed the tour so much. Thankyou. 💕 Would love to visit Salem one day. I managed Pendle Hill in England. That was cool, but much smaller. Love the witchy things, but very sad about the innocent women that were killed, and men too, back in the old days. Still 'witches' exsisted all over the world. 🧙♀️🌛👻
Chris the Girl! I am new to your channel. I must say! This a fantastic video. Jay has a good channel too. Glad you could see Salem. It is a interesting town. Happy shopping. Have fun girl. 😄🐈⬛🎃

I went to Salem first time in mid august. It was perfect! You don’t need to go at Halloween to experience what makes it so special 😊.
My grandmother had an ouija board. She had it underneath her vcr player. Those tiny tarot cards would be perfect for a dolls room.
