Reaper! The Red Rising trilogy is one of my favorite trilogies and makes me happy to hear you enjoyed them as much as you did. I really need to reread them so I can do a proper review for them.
Also you need to pick up Eye of the World!
My goodman! Have you read book four of the red rising series yet?
I will! I have a couple other projects to wrap up first, but I'll probably start it in July or early August!
@@BenjaminsBookclub I haven't! I'm waiting to do a reread first, than continue the series.
I love to hear it!
Hell yeah, to the five stars
It was a great reading month! What have you been reading this month?
@BenjaminsBookclub mostly YA contemporary but July will be horror filled. Summer ween starts on Saturday. A spooky and thriller reading week
@@MrRorosuri ohh I love hearing about horror reads! What are you tackling first?
@@BenjaminsBookclub the new Riley Sager and now conjurors by Freddie Kolsch . YA possession book
@@MrRorosuri awesome! I've only read Lock Every Door by Riley Sager and I thought it was okay. Let me know how they go!!
I chased up how many books I'd read in June and it surprised me. Twelve. Blame the rainy weather. I keep track of reading on Hardcover and would not have been able to list them all otherwise. Mostly Sun Eater series, catching up on the short stories and novellas. Kingdoms of Death was the only main novel from the series and it's the first time that I can remember where a book has brought me to tears. The later elements of that book are extraordinarily moving.
Three were Becky Chambers, A Psalm for the Wild Built and A Prayer for the Crown Shy are Monk and Robot books that explore identity, relationships, family, A Closed and Common Orbit is second in her Wayfarer series, exploring acceptance (or otherwise) of difference.
Fun reads were How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying (Wexler), and Free Wrench (Lallo). And two Vonnegut novels, always fun but in a twisted Vonnegut manner.
Wow twelve! I don't think I've ever got close to that many books in a month haha!
I have the first of the Sun Eater series on my shelf, I know I should jump in, but I feel I have a few series in progress already!
Becky chambers has been on my wishlist for ages, next time im in a shop I think I have to give her a go!
Cool wrap-up. 😊 I also like mass market paperbacks. They're easer to hold but not the prettiest covers. ☺
Yeah they don't often have the best of covers, so pleasant to hold and read though.
Enjoying your channel a lot. I've been meaning to get to Greg Egan for a long time now. Seems like he'd be right up my alley.
I think I'm in the extreme minority who think Golden Son is just OK. I think just good enough for me to want to read Morning Star at some point. It just felt like it was trying so hard to be epic in every scene that it really took me out of it pretty often. Sort of how I feel about Zack Snider movies too.
Thanks so much! Yeah i think you will enjoy Greg Egan, his story collection Axiomatic is superb.
I can see what you are saying about Golden Son, but it didn't bother me, I enjoyed the epic feeling. Different strokes and folks I suppose :)
