Dr. Jazmine is def amazing! For the potty training, check out Jamie Glowacki’s book: Oh Crap, Potty Training. We’re just over a month in and my two year old is completely potty trained, including naps and overnight.

Hello Dr.Jazmine! thank you for these videos, I enjoy them a lot and there are a lot of great tips.
What consequence would be great to implement when they are aggressive towards their sibblings and myself? I am not into time outs anymore, I found it very difficult for me to deal with that when I have to put them back in place everytime they move, I get very frustrated so I am looking for something where my emotions won't be all over the place and that it works for my boys. Would removing a privilege like toys for a day a great logical consequence for aggressive behaviors? That it is something that I have used and it works well but I wonder if that it is the right thing to do everytime and if that could apply for other situations. Also, can you please explain the difference between time outs and breaks?
    Thank you soo much! :)

My son is 18 months. His favorite thing is read books with me. This morning I was trying to get him to pick up his blocks before reading another book. Should I take reading time away if he refuses to pick up the blocks?

What happens when a child uses a logical consequence against you? For instance, they hit you because they want you to turn away...?

You show them how to use their words or take their own action (walk away) to get their needs met.

What’s a natural consequence for not listening? Ex: in the car and I request for older child (5) to stop touching younger brother (2)

The logical consequence for defiance depends on the age of your child, context of situation and other factors. With regards to the example given, I would work with 2-year old to speak up for himself about body boundaries. Happy to create a video on this topic - encourage good behavior while driving. :) Also, be sure to check out my discipline book - Let's Talk Discipline for more in depth support in this area. themompsychologist.com/discipline

What do you do when your child refuses to follow through with logical consequence? For instance they throw the toy, you tell them to pick it up, but then they refuse...
