This one hits home. I'm a two-time cancer survivor; prostate cancer, and scuamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in my throat and lymph nodes. I was just declared with NED for the SCC last week.

Yes, it hits home. Hits really hard for me, right now even !!!! Back in February my wife was diagnosed with leukemia. She has done five different chemo rounds, full body radiation, and stem cell transplant. She is at OHSU right now. Actually, at this very moment, she is at Knight Cancer Institute for a bone marrow biopsy. My wife had the chemo they talk about, she has rung the bell they talk about. And my Dad fought cancer for 16 years. Believe me, it hits hard. So yeah, I just bought two jerseys for us.
Best uniforms they have ever created, this just has so much heart behind it, and to incorporate the ideas from the head coaches family is just that extra special touch. The boys are gonna like this one for sure.

As a cancer survivor and a family member of a loved one who lost their fight this year I am very appreciative of the recognition of all types of cancer not just breast cancer that is the only one recognized by the team in the past. Thank you. I’m active in relay for life fundraising and we’d love to see support in fundraising. We’re currently behind in Eugene Springfield RFL from our fundraising goal this year. The money raised not only helps pay for cancer research but lots of it goes to getting patients to treatments, lodging during treatments, providing wigs and post surgery supplies, estate planning for terminal patients and support groups and therapy for cancer patients. Another part of getting the word out is fulfilling the need for volunteers to do things like becoming a volunteer driver to provide rides for cancer patients and being a support person to patients in the community to check in and help assess needs that ACS may be able to help with or refer to agencies that can help. Also volunteers can help with fundraising events as well. It’s a good cause that I’m happy to be able to help with each year. Even before I got cancer and became a survivor.

Yes, it did. My wife just had “Red Devil” two months ago. Nothing worse than hearing “I want to die” from your wife while taking this chemo.

My mom will be attending the Ohio state game this year. She has just finished 18 rounds of chemo and will be getting her surgery in November sometime for breast cancer. I would love to have her be recognized as a fighter if you are doing anything special 🩷
