I recently finished painting a Cerastus Knight Lancer, printed on an FDM printer - not even resin. There are plenty of flaws across the model and the paintjob is hardly stellar, but if you're looking at it from the normal distance on a tabletop it looks perfectly fine amidst the others. In terms of tournament play, I gather 3D printed proxies are absolutely fine in most tournaments, but not allowed in official GW ones (Unless you sculpted the parts yourself, to allow for custom sigils, etc). I don't play tournaments at all, so it makes no difference to me personally; I just play a few casual games with friends.
Honestly from my experience is you can tell the difference, but only if you know to look for a few very specific things and a good coat of primer hides most of that. Really the skull wing insignia is the part that stands out the most when comparing plastic to print.
There's a few places. Colt 3D I think Etsy has some if you look for then a lot of times they're hidden under code words like space Marines are called space crusaders instead and like for 3d effects. Deadly print studios is the place I usually go for stuff
Cool vid. I own a Mars 3 Pro and I no longer buy JW plastic. So many good quality scans and proxies are available it's ridiculous. I save lots of money not buying plastic.
I won't say that I won't buy games workshop plastic anymore but if I have the spare bits and I can 3D print some torsos and save a little bit of money that's what I'll end up doing

Do not touch uncured resin, wear gloves doing this.
The resin is cured and washed before handling bare-handed
