No matter the ordinance for defensive capability ; survive an 'impact' to fight back immediately or another day. Why does it cost 10 to 15,000 per shot from a microwave weapon ,when all it takes is a source of electricity to keep firing microwave beams ! The ship provides the electrical power , so where does all that money go ? The weapon was already paid for by taxpayers ! Now we have to pay the soldier 10 to 15 grand to set there and push a button over and over ? An AUDIT is way over due ! Love the weapon idea ,though !

Love the great information you present on this channel. You need to say something other than “put a 1 below”, you did that a number of times. One thing I really appreciate about this little vignette here is the cost analysis. Very important for sustainable warfighting capability. Say for instance the Cartel in South America just fly over with a gang glider and drop a ghost pepper on your ship, should you launch a 1.3 million dollar missile at it? Not if you don’t have to. So some of the cost comparisons on the beam emitters is very interesting plus very versatile. Could probably blind radar too. Would like to hear about hypercavitational torpedoes though too. I guess they are brutally fast. Russia has them, we do too, and probably China.

Direct energy weapons sound promising. I also like the laser weapons in development. The latest is I believe a 300 watt solid state laser. Lasers are also very low cost to use.

Idc how much a missle costs, or laser built machines, or anything for our military for that matter. It's simple....there are very serious, very dangerous weapons out there. With a very real, very serious evil controlling them. So w.e it takes to defend our ppl, our country, n our assets. If it makes our military duties easier, then make it happen. Does it protect, does it keep us stronger in all aspects compared to other countries, n does it place us in position to create some serious damage to other countries when needed then make it happen! W.e it costs, w.e it takes. No questions asked! Military needs n power is an absolute must.

Here is the thing, if you doubt the power of America's military the you truly have not paid attention. We have toys of destruction that you can not imagine. For everything they show us, there are at least 2 things they don't. We are the superpower. I served 10 years in the army. The weapons we tested were beyond amazing. We are not weak. I rode on a carrier front san Diego to Korea. I watched these guys train. Trust, they are no joke.

    • @CedricWyeth

Just as you have toys or mass destruction, so do other countries. America is not the be ll of everything. And this is why your country does not want other countries to have 'toys of mass destruction", because you want to call yourselves that. Let Iran build there shit and whoever else. Dont be afraid...they wont hurt you.
