    Came for an explanation of how a self-sealing fuel tank works, came away with not only an explanation, but also a really cool, cheap, and simple experiment for my kids - thanks!

    Thanks for the video! Some friendly criticism: The clip you inserted at 1:15 is not of an Avenger, but of an SB2C, which was a naval dive-bomber and torpedo bomber. Notice the lack of a defensive rearward-firing turret on the underside of the aircraft, which the Avenger did feature, as well as the rounded tail of the SB2C, unlike that of the Avenger, which was more angular.

    Also came for an explanation of how a self-sealing fuel tank work. Did not realize that this was uploaded by Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museums YT account. However I did immediately realize that ist must have been filmed there since I visited last year. Currently working on my masters thesis for my aerospace degree and needed an explanation for this matter. Thank you very much!

    I think they eventually made these into bladder tanks that would collapse as it emptied.
    This would eliminate the fuel-air mixture at the top of the tank due to the the tank vent, so that a incendiary round would not set the fuel-air mixture on fire.

    A berry concise and calmly present ed video
    On of the iss yes about ignition of Fuel in a military context is web a tank is pierce it is usually a tracer round that has a phosphorus tailwicg will be a source of it notion however ant firm of detonation of a volatile liguid needs the correct stoichiometry I e. Fuel to air ratio in order to start a fire ithink in this case the velocity of s tracer round will be too fast and won't have time to set off a detonation because ther will be too much fuel a little to no air to firm the right ratio for combustion

    Albeit it only works if the fuel tank hasn't caught fire.

    • @florisr9
      @florisr9 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Usually, the fuel ignites outside of the fuel tank (in the air). The fire doesn't get into the tank itself, because there is not enough oxygen to cause fire or even an explosion. It's like a Bunsen burner.

    Why not make sure that you are truly saved by Jesus Christ and practice this way. Remorsefully confess with your heart your sins to Jesus Christ who is God and tell Him that you right now are repenting of your sins and you want to be born again of the Spirit from above. Tell Jesus that you are remorsefully sorry for breaking His commandments and that you are begging for forgiveness from Him. Allow His blood from the cross to wash away your sins. After this is done with your heart successfully the Holy Spirit will come to live within you and He will rebuild you from the inside out.
    Look for signs that you are saved. Things like spreading the good news from Jesus, getting other people saved, a craving for the word of God, reading the Bible, etc… These things are known as a calling and fruit bearing. If you're not bearing fruit then keep doing it. Sometimes it takes time to get saved. Read Matthew chapter 13 from the King James Bible. God bless!!!
