- This is a ground up restoration of the rare 66 Chevy II post car. It is a recreation of the 1966 Chevy II with the L79 327ci 350 hp engine Out of 2500 some Chevy IIs built only around 800 were V-8s with 4 speed transmission. Thanks for the memories! My brother had a 64 Chevy ll with a 283 engine and it was jacked up in the rear and he had small tires in the front and big fat ones in the back. He used to do smoke shows with that thing. One night my parents and I, back in the 1970's, were watching tv one summer and suddenly all we heard was whomp, whomp, whomp and then sreeeeeeetch! My Dad looked over at my Mum and said "Oh, there's Tony!"

lift cam and 30 yrs of streets racing being a cnc percision machinist rebuild in shop only me working on it,and tricks of my own,dyno 447 hp, 12.90s 1/4 times,beat every one in my area,magnum 440s only ones that came close still got them by 1-2 car lenth ,7300 rpms
There's a guy on youtube name of Donnie Brass. He has a '67 Vette with the L79 & 4 spd. Some work done, but it's still totally within the rules of F.A.S.T. He runs mid to low 12's........and that's on skinny bias ply tires. Amazing. Sorry, I can't recall the name of the youtube channel, but it shows him racing it a lot in recent years.

A friend had one with a 327 putting out about 400 HP
With cheater slicks and a tank of Sunoco 260. Wasn't much around

This was my first Hot Rod... Mine originally came with a straight Six and a Three on the Tree. I of course put the first engine I ever rebuilt in it a Large Journal 327 w/ a Borg Warner T-10 transmission. It was a Very Fast Lil' Car. Thanks for Sharing

Love the 327 my favorite by far always beat everyone back in the day with mine in a 1972 nova
my buddy mike had a 68 camaro back in the 80s with a built 327 30 over camel back heads 202 valves 11:1 and headers with a big Holly carb and he smoked everybody who messed with him especially the roll and go racing that 327 was badass.

Awesome ride. Such a sleeper. My favorite Nova ever made other than maybe a 70 Yenko Deuce . These cars were terrors on the drag strip because of their big block type power and ultra light weight. I'm a Mopar guy first but that's a bad machine right there. Always really liked the 68-69 L78 396/375 Nova SS and the 69 Yenko Super Nova 427 as well but the 66 L79 and 70 Yenko Deuce Nova's are my faves

It's not a Nova, the Nova was a hardtop, top option was the Nova SS, but it's a damned sweet sleeper with the 350 horse 327

200 l79 sedans was built in 1966 3547 l79 built total in 66

No burnout never revved it pass 2700 RPMs. That motor is still asleep until it gets past 3500. Plus you should stick to automatics because you sure don"t know how to drive a stick. It is a nice car but it deserves someone who is not afraid of it.
Some people just like to listen to their cam lope never use it.
@@olliewalker6406 The way he drove that car was like standing naked with a hot woman and just listening to her talk instead of really getting after it.

This is supposed to be a really hot car..40 mph does NOT impress

@@mollylewis7726 I think the L76 solid cam sent to 365 hp. But low end torque would not be good for the street.
First engine I remember that produced more HP than cubic inch displacement.
@@DANTHETUBEMAN There was yet another version that made 375 hp. I think it had the mechanical fuel injection that nobody understood at the time. Worked great, if ya knew how to tune it. But sadly, most mechanics & shops of the day didn't. So many if not most 375 hp 327's with mechanical fuel injection were replaced with a 4 bbl carb.........making the fuel injection versions even rarer. ( It only came in the Corvette I believe. )
@@howabouthetruth2157 ppl sed shops would have 2 or 3 fuel injection unite from Corvette to carb change over. What a great engine,, one if the best.
From the blinkers to the tail pipe theas cars a disappointment they just dont perform and cost a fortune
what a waste,all that money spent on a lowly post model,the hardtops look so much better......
I like the post cars and wish mine had a post.
