I love tubular keys and locks because of the simplicity of the idea, except when I let the pins fall into the pinless channel during the opening process, I have already ruined a lock on a safe and a digital lock, that left me perplexed, the locks did not have any lubricant and that caused defects, they are very precise locks.
Wonder if those extra cuts acted like cleanouts, collecting dirt from inside the lock (until it too was packed).
