This is my recommendation from my experience on invading UK since the DLC release this is my list 1. After start a run try to get as many ship and sub as possible my guide is to go to the right part of the Naval tree first and choose the one that give you light cruiser that will give you an advantage every month since that point I counted if not wrong before the fight you would get 20 extra fleet for free cause it's a bug for not costing EXP and convoy 2. Trying to build as many dockyard and mils as possible dockyard I rec use it to produce destroyer and subs and mils use to build planes add bomber to it to bomb half of British fleet 3. Change dockyard available for ships repair to maximum amount the AI will not choose maximum just 3-10 dockyard but due to this recommendation it will use at least 20 doc. 4. During the race to get the naval superiority if you have more dockyard than UK just keep your whole fleet in that area most of British fleet and subs are old that's why they can't resist and their repair rate are very low this is the point where most people have mistake I see alot of youtubers forgot this some just doesn't show they charge this this is how you can beat British fleet using 1939 scenarios where every setup seem badly optimize to do things Extra:I also recommend turn on automatic splits and repair to the fleet the reason why I'm saying this is because most of the time I experiencing bug that will drag your whole fleet just to repair a single sub that has 0.1% of DAM and that's annoying to me so I just puting the fleet to the channel until the fleet gets weak then I just drag whole fleet to repair in the port that has level 10
@@godso9267 these are all good suggestions if you intend to challenge the Royal Navy. Thank you for sharing. @@jamesshepard2672 maybe the timing? The UK will get more divisions later in the run. There is also always a bit of rng involved in how many divisions they have and where. But what I showed is the most standard I would say. It was also from 3 completely different run. Of course assuming you are playing on historical and regular difficulty.
How late is too late to realistically do it? I have a game in which it is already 43, so I think it is too late for me to invade them(trying to get the Naval Arms Race achievement)
It is never really too late, but in 1941 the US will join them, and capitulating the UK will no longer end the war. Other than that, the later it is, the more important it is to get air superiority and a spy network!
inavding uk with no newer dlcs is next to impossible, cuz i have no newer dlcs, and tried this guide, and failed like i would try to invade the uk with liechtenstein instead of germany
@@sgtdomi553 the most important dlcs would be by blood alone to steal enemy navies and make perfect planes, no step back for the tank designer, and la resistance for spy networks. But it is totally possible to get it done even without any of them. It is a difficult challenge for sure, but so it should be. (not) invading the UK was one of the main turning points in WW2.
this isnt really that helpful.. i am playing as germany with same medium tank divs as you have and a good infantry army, i am barely able to land since there are too many divisions on each tile, by the time i do land my ladning infantry is rly low on equipment from force attacking, then i find it very hard to push due to how many divs there are. i always bring my tanks and a full inf army across the channel and they usually dont get convoy raided, however once they are across i am unable to push due to low supply and too many british divs per tile. plus for whatever reason my divisions never seem to regain their organization. lastly i always end up completely losing all supply cause my fleet gets sunk and the whole invasion is a failure
Make sure your divisions are at full strength, supplies and training before triggering the invasion. Do not send too many divisions all at once, since you will have to rely on local supplies, which run out very quickly. If you can get air superiority, it massively helps too. Also, check out the Christmas Special I made recently, as it covers this topic more in detail.

@@pascalpanzer8537 That is the issue then, they must be in the Axis for Operation Anton (or so it would seem at least) and they will only join the Axis later on, when attacked by the Allies. I believe you cannot do much about it before then.
UK infantry is equipped with support AT, which brings their piercing to above 40. So your division, while looking formidable, offers zero armor protection. Which means all your armor upgrades are wasted money. The key to beating the UK is to up your armor. Add sloped and welded armor, crank it up to 9 armor upgrades. German industry can easily afford it, it leads the world by 1940. Add easy maintenance for extra reliability. Again, the key is to take advantage of the partial piercing mechanic. Always good to see that sweet golden shield icon in every battle. Another thing. The 1938 MT chassis you are using is really bad. Even the 1936 LT chassis is better as it is cheaper and offers more versatility. Germany has plenty of focuses to get the 1940 MT chassis way earlier and that should be your priority. To get thousands of Panzer IVs on the ground before the shooting even starts. I managed to field 15,000 T-34s by late 1940 without attacking anyone, and that despite everything in the Soviet focus tree trying to prevent me from doing just that. Germany has no such issues, you can have 20,000 Panzer IVs before the war if your heart desires.
@@el_vago armor is nice to preserve extra manpower, that's true. But I disagree about it being the most important thing. The most important thing is soft attack (and supplies/strength/training). Which is why the division I shared was able to easily take down the UK in 1940 with about 7k total casualties. The light tank chassis has way less hardness and soft attack. The improved medium is way more expensive (in terms of resources too). If you want to dominate air too, you cannot afford both things. But if you fully focus on tanks you can of course. In my run as Germany, with that template, I had a total of around 20k casualties in the entirety of WW2, without micromanagement. (you can find it on the channel if you wish to check it out).
@@MachiavellianStrategist "The most important thing is soft attack" Agreed. Which is why I did not object to the howitzer on your tank. "The improved medium is way more expensive (in terms of resources too)" Not true. It is only marginally more expensive. But it offers a massive upgrade to all your parameters. It is a sin for Germany not to take it. "you cannot afford both things." You most certainly can. You are playing Germany, the world's leading military tech power! You just need to outfit 10 divisions with Panzer IVs, and put a thousand top notch fighters into the sky. And that is enough to take out Britain. If you can't do that, well, I feel sorry for you. "armor is nice to preserve extra manpower" It's not about that. Being unpierceable means you can cut through their lines with ease and without delay. In your video you complain about British divisions piling up on you. That's what being uparmored solves for you. Watch this video on partial piercing for details: th-cam.com/video/9pC8kza4AnE/w-d-xo.html
The change is imo bad for playing minor nations since you can’t defeat uk before usa joins allies which is extremely annoying with all those unlimited ai naval invasion spam. It was possible tho before dlc.
@@lelllell2921 it is still possible to defeat the UK as minors. I did it as Hungary and Mexico after the dlc. It is much more difficult, that is for sure. But that's the whole point, otherwise every run was virtually over in 1940, we were missing on 5 years of content.
@ yes i know, with hungary and austria in the new dlc, you can afford mils really quick, so you get cas and fighters or even some tanks, but with some nations like turkey its really hard to get enough airforce fast enough.
@ I mean before the update, only 2 full armies (48 divisions) were enough to invade uk, but now you must either have enough airforce or tanks to push after taking a port.
@@MachiavellianStrategist no, thats not what i meant. Starting a naval invasion and taking a naval port is mostly not the problem. The main problem is that you need enough airforce or tanks to push because otherwise u can push max. 1-2 tiles.
why not just use paratroopers. that way you can focus on plains and thats more useful for ussr and in general. and also the invasion is much easier with paratroopers as you only need to control one airspace and not the channel or others inbetween. i would say its op, but its definetly a good way to do it.
Actually I disagree, getting naval superiority is much easier than getting air superiority, as shown in the video. I'm pretty confident that a well planned dambusting raid (that hampers the enemy without affecting your advance), or the Engineering Tanks special project can be useful.

@@alexpinterich5162 hi! I haven't decided yet actually! I will probably start a poll soon to determine it!
@MachiavellianStrategist sounds good
This is my recommendation from my experience on invading UK since the DLC release this is my list
1. After start a run try to get as many ship and sub as possible my guide is to go to the right part of the Naval tree first and choose the one that give you light cruiser that will give you an advantage every month since that point I counted if not wrong before the fight you would get 20 extra fleet for free cause it's a bug for not costing EXP and convoy
2. Trying to build as many dockyard and mils as possible dockyard I rec use it to produce destroyer and subs and mils use to build planes add bomber to it to bomb half of British fleet
3. Change dockyard available for ships repair to maximum amount the AI will not choose maximum just 3-10 dockyard but due to this recommendation it will use at least 20 doc.
4. During the race to get the naval superiority if you have more dockyard than UK just keep your whole fleet in that area most of British fleet and subs are old that's why they can't resist and their repair rate are very low this is the point where most people have mistake I see alot of youtubers forgot this some just doesn't show they charge this this is how you can beat British fleet using 1939 scenarios where every setup seem badly optimize to do things
Extra:I also recommend turn on automatic splits and repair to the fleet the reason why I'm saying this is because most of the time I experiencing bug that will drag your whole fleet just to repair a single sub that has 0.1% of DAM and that's annoying to me so I just puting the fleet to the channel until the fleet gets weak then I just drag whole fleet to repair in the port that has level 10
@MachiavellianStrategist Oh tbh it was a non his game US joined Finland.

inavding uk with no newer dlcs is next to impossible, cuz i have no newer dlcs, and tried this guide, and failed like i would try to invade the uk with liechtenstein instead of germany

Please someone tell me how to get air superiority... Its 1940 and they have 6000 fighter, its absolutely impossible to beat that .
You can defeat them with some very good fighter designs! You can find them in the dedicated video on my channel!
@@MachiavellianStrategist
"The most important thing is soft attack"
Agreed. Which is why I did not object to the howitzer on your tank.
"The improved medium is way more expensive (in terms of resources too)"
Not true. It is only marginally more expensive. But it offers a massive upgrade to all your parameters. It is a sin for Germany not to take it.
"you cannot afford both things."
You most certainly can. You are playing Germany, the world's leading military tech power! You just need to outfit 10 divisions with Panzer IVs, and put a thousand top notch fighters into the sky. And that is enough to take out Britain. If you can't do that, well, I feel sorry for you.
"armor is nice to preserve extra manpower"
It's not about that. Being unpierceable means you can cut through their lines with ease and without delay. In your video you complain about British divisions piling up on you. That's what being uparmored solves for you.

@@lelllell2921 you can get naval superiority much faster than air superiority. As I showed in the video, you sometimes get it when with just one sub!
Paratroopers must be researched specifically for this purpose and you still need to get ports and send over your divisions by sea.
