    Hey, folks! I'm back! In the last 7 months, I'd told myself I was going to stop creating content on TH-cam. I even made it a public announcement on social media. I was having a severe bout with anxiety and depression and simply couldn't handle balancing writing novels/screenplays, TH-cam and my own professional career. I'm in a much better place now and ready to get back to creating content. Just stick with me while I try to find my feet on here again. Please like the video, comment & subscribe if you enjoy! Love you guys!

    Man, I'm so happy you're at a better spot and you're back with a brand new video! You got such a unique angle to your topics. You often touch on an aspect that I previously have not considered looking into before and that's always a delight discovering from another human being, you know? Thanks for that. :)
    Yo, i'm feeling you with the talk about having taken some time to take care of yourself first. We're all here getting on that rhythm a day at a time. I'm with you. We keep fighting! 👊

      Okayyy, I realize the Knight's Code is a good way to beat my own mental battles and interact with society in a healthy way. Awesome stuff! Got to get my Quixote on.

    Love this video. There was definitely care put into that story and that makes all the difference, even if it mostly goes unappreciated. We gotta support and bring attention to good action movies! Just came across your channel and I'm glad I did.

      I totally agree. A lot of modern day action is disposed of very quickly by audiences / critics but there's plenty of quality to be found in the genre.

    Robert McCall is like Frank Castle in a way. I feel that Rob's humanity isn't completely burned away like Frank's though. And that's not a shot at all against the Punisher---the contrast is quite interesting. Frank is extremely dispassionate, disconnected and disassociated from the suffering of the thugs he kills. Robert McCall has that same out-of-touch, pragmatic style in the way he fights sure, but he also has good relationships outside of his war against the underworld. Frank has respected colleagues like Microchip and Daredevil, but Rob has a tone of hopefulness in the way he carries himself, that all hope isn't lost.
    I guess I'm trying to say this: Frank is death incarnate. To him, Frank Castle is gone---he's an force of nature, brutal vengance that won't be swayed.
    Robert McCall is, like the video pointed out, like a Knight---he won't hesitate to dole out the death penalty on his foes, but Rob also sees the importance of having light in his life. After the bloodshed, he actively does good to others outside of his vigilantte career, while Frank operates with single-minded focus.

    The Equalizer > John Wick

      Why do you enjoy these violent films (genuine question)

    • @dylangous
      @dylangous 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@sinkanz7643 To be honest I'm actually not much of an action movie fan, but there is something satisfying about seeing evil punished. The Equalizer 2 delves quite deeply into the theme of good and evil. The main enemy even tells the protagonist (there is no sin) - and ends up living out the consequences of pure moral relativism. So while I do not generally enjoy action movies, the Equalizer deals with themes that interest me embedded within a large scale choregraphed action sequence. John Wick doesn't have the same thematic impact for me, which is why I posted my original comment. I hope this somewhat answers your question!
