I will forever respect Taku for the way he cracks a beer and slams at least 40% of it on the first sip while the beer is cold and snappy. He's a man after my own heart.
Whoa! Athletic Brewing sponsor!? That's freaking rad. That stuff helped me cut WAY back on my alcohol intake without cutting back on the beers. I'm glad they realized how great you two are!
Thank you sooooo much for introducing Athletic Brewing to us, non-alcoholic beverages without compromising flavor is very important for those who already struggle with alcoholism. Thanks bro!
Great video, stunning scenery… mouthwatering food!!! A lot of high country lakes winter killed this year… our back country go to set up is a bubble float (water filled) with a six foot small poundage leader to a fly of your choice (mosquito pattern). Cast along the shore with a slow retrieve… Happy Limits!
So I fly fish! I would start that lake with a chirnomid under a dry, probably like a good 3-4 feet of line under the dry. If that didn’t work, switch out the bottom fly for a worm or a leech. If that didn’t work, I’d definitely swap to a streamer. That’s seriously clear water so a really natural or black color streamer!
I did a ton of high mountain fly fishing in the eastern sierras. dry dropper early morning or evening worked, but what ALWAYS worked was stripping maroon wooly buggers. Haul in 50+ trout a day easily.
I use a fly tied behind a small popper. Remove the hook from the back. Leave the front hook on.. tie a 2ft line to the fly and attache the other end to the back hook anchor of the popper. That is your popping fly.
As far as the fly fishing goes I'd try a streamer or a wet fly in a lake like that. Cast it out and slowly strip it back in, nothing fancy. Make sure to cover a lot of water with it and you'll eventually get something!
watch out for dingle berries 😅😂😂 thanks for the video , i thought i was the only one that did cheese tax😮 😅 . would like to see you guys in colorado , i guarantee the best river fishing trip i’ve ever been to.
man you needed a bullet lure from NW Fishing Secrets for that spinner rod! and HOLY being from Florida these places in the mountains look straight out a movie.
I love watching Jocelyn's videos, they prepare me for your videos haha. Was so excited excited for this video when i saw the rods on your backpack in her video lol
Mixed feelings about the NA beer. I’ll try it if I ever see it but haven’t found one I like. It is refreshing as a carbonated water replacement however.
🌴 hey you two, what a beautiful area , so glad you pulled out the fly rod you should try a bait fish pattern or a woolly bugger, looks like a catapiller , for spinning gear use a small mepp’s spinner or rooster tail spinner keep some rubber minnow baits in there or some small spoons , or just worms on a hook and a split shot weight, those were some big fish taco’s ! Burrrrp ! 😄🍺
Taku, Use a Black Wolly-Bugger with a trailer fly 18 inches behind the main fly. A good trailer fly you can use is a Sheep Creak Special. Also use a Type 2 or 3 uniform sink line. These lines have a sink rate of anywhere from 3 to 6 inches per second. Cast and wait till line hits the desired depth then strip in the fly.........strip strip pause repeat. I'll send you some flies , where should I send them?
What a beautiful location. Is this in California? Greetings from South Florida! My husband and I are new fans of your channel. And recently I have been exploring non-alcoholic beer but have been afraid to make the switch, but I will definitely be trying this beer.
Go silent on any log jam with your fly rod . Take your time . Walked a bit fast out there . When all else fails . Throw a 2/0 or 3/0 Blue Fox spinner as far you can .( yes a big spinner ) Sink without a snag , and reel in ( slow) . Slugs live in some of these small lakes . But , they are smart for a reason . Cheers ! Be safe , be wel

23:10 Jocelyn snatches a piece of fresh cut cheese and runs away giggling…”Cheese tax!”

Cheers! Thanks for sharing our Two for the Trails program!
I love how ur girl( idk how to spell her name) she’s more interactive with the camera and it makes these episodes so much better. Luv from nz ❤️
All you ever need is a gold Kastmaster lure. That wiggle and flashing reflection has caught me so many different fish

I like that you enjoy your beers, regardless of what went down with your recording on that day. Japanese Beers are good. I am German, I can tell.
Idk why but I always like the song at the end, it never gets old
Does anyone know where this lake is? It's really gorgeous ❤ 5:27

Beautiful lake, crystal clear water. Absolutely nice white mushroom (real boletus) which many of them grow in the forests of Russia.
Channel is so underrated. It feels like I’m watching a Netflix series!

Tacos looks bomb!!!
Wow! Great place , yum food🤘🏻🥰
I love your food preparations. Always hits the spot. Drooling always. The best life. Have fun and be safe to you both. Best tandem
Speaking of tacos, just finished off my first deep fried zucchini tacos topped with Barnacle Foods Kelp Chile Crisp. ❤

Zone of the things I love about your GF is she doesn’t steal your “spotlight.” A confident woman. I love her, good luck to both of you!
This is the perfect day out. So cool

Athletic Brewing is actually a pretty decent NA beer. Their lager is meh for me but the IPA is actually pretty good in my opinion
@@michael_17213 never saw the point of having a non alcohol beer and never had one that tasted good. But to each their own. .
What’s the point of a non alcoholic beer????……it’s just so stupid
@@yanevaknow1017 can be great if you’re counting calories, and sometimes you don’t want to be drinking alcohol

i love those tortillas! can't get anything like that around where i live. another great video!
Your next collab sauce should be named Takuyaki sauce.
What kind of shoes are those that you are wearing? Very nice! The grey ones in the beginning.
I wish I was there too 😊
That spot is beautiful
Awesome video! This lake is beautiful man, where is this?
Looks awesome where is this?
Good try and trying to find the dragon fly larva. Like LIFE ON NWS. I THINK LIFE PLANTS HIS LARVA AND pretends to find his larva. Ha ha 😂. 😂 lol.
Usually not a fan of fusion, but man I'd still try that taco without hesitation. Love seeing you cook Taku and seeing your unique food combinations

Something about da tune u play at the end of all your videos make me feels good inside lol how do i find that tune? Lol
They make nymps you know!! Leave the rod and reel behind and fly fish. A great learning opportunity.
Yum fish tacos are my favorite but fusion fish tacos… now they look to die for!
Hey Taku, where is that lake? That’s beautiful!
Unbelievable good video, again😁
What is this place?

Where is this lake at? I'm assuming in the Sierra’s somewhere?
When’s the pop up restaurant? I would literally drive from SD to go!
Best back drop ever.
What knife are you using and where is this hike?
Beadhead zebra midge size16 point fly purple leach above about 18 inches apart and indicator next to flyline
When torching the food what do you use ? Is it a butane can ?
