It’s called cuteness aggression when you want to squeeze things so hard. You like something so much that your body/brain doesn’t know what to do so in order to balance it out it gives the aggression chemical.
When sanding, it works best if you wrap a piece of sandpaper around a sponge or piece of foam (think Magic Sponge). If you don't have one, simply fold it in thirds to use. This way you don't have areas with varying pressure from your stronger fingers. Most inportantly, sand with the grain, not against. Love this! You're very clever!
@@LisaBluestar83 we use a rubber type foam-ish pad. Some of them have holes punched in them to make them more able to access curves. Many times, you can find something around the house that works great! PS: I even wet/dry sand rhe scratches out of my stainless steel sink.
I don't know what I like better...the actual crafts or the stories you tell to go along with them 😊 but in saying that...I think this is my favourite build so far
I'm a big fan, especially of your stories. I pronounce words weird too, don't change for others. Being who you truly are makes you even more awesome! :)
I legit stalk your page daily to see if you have a new video out lol I've looked for similar creators to bide my time until your next post but you are one of a kind!! love your videos and the stories!! Fantastic!!!
I love the amount of details done in this! Especially with how small some of the items are! And I hope you don’t mind me fleshing out (aha, get it?) the story some more! Otis always loved experimenting. He would often trap the mice and rats in the apartment complex to provide entertainment for his young, thoughtful mind. As he grew older, he found himself needing larger test subjects. Stealing the residents’ pets. At one point, even managing to steal away a child. While his discoveries grew greater and his desires to further his studies landed him at the gates of a university - his father’s untimely failing health and growing debts forced Otis to remain home. In charge of the complex and his sickly father. But he soon realized, if he couldn’t join a university, he could bring one to him! Turning the apartments into experiment rooms. Otis filled the building with a gas that kept the residents calm and workable. His father was among the first successful experiments! The man was no longer sickly and weak, but as strong as a chimp (though as dumb as a slug) he made for a fine body guard. Some of Otis’ experiments became known on the black market, allowing him access to more willing workers and test subjects. Even the debt began to fade with time! All seemed well until that dreadful fire. It had begun on the first floor, by a series of candles knocked to the ground. It burned the complex to a crisp! Otis never did find the arsonist. But he had to begin a new, this time malls were growing popular around the world and their little town lacked one! So Otis seized the chance and opened the complex a new, into the beautiful mall it is now. Though things do look a little differently now, the customers aren’t really bothered by the skin coats or blood and bone cakes. Almost as of the world changed to match Otis’ vision. Perhaps, it isn’t our world that was in need of a shopping mall?
To add more clarification to this: - Otis, and everyone in the apartment, died in the fire and now are in a dark spirit world like place, where the customers are ghoulish creatures that enjoy having their human meals already prepped for them. They “pay” Otis by bringing in new human “customers” - The fire was caused by the ghost of the child, the very first human experiment (possibly the child’s family tried to contact the ghost kid, ghost kid pushed the candles over to try to scare them away from that awful place)
It’s wonderful. Maybe a couple of discarded mannequins in the basement corner? I’ve never seen a film of a department store massacre without a few creepy and naked mannequins in the basement or attic. Keep up the important work ;)
EMILY! also, you are a FANTASTIC storyteller. i clicked to look at mini things after seeing your short, intending to only stay a minute-if that. i stayed the WHOLE. DAMN. VIDEO. i realllyyyyyy enjoyed this, the creating it while youre narrarating was so interesting. the story doesnt have to be perfect, it felt like a sister telling me a scary story while we did crafts. also, the cat was clearly the best part, as cats often are!!! GOD BLESS!
It's funny you said that at the end, I was thinking that you need to hire a ghost writer to take your stories/craft to the next level. ❤ totally love watching your videos and love your crafts
OMG you just made my day. I can't wait to share this with my daughter (she's got a demented mind) she's going to flip over this. What's realy awesome I have quite s few jewelry boxes i eas going to donate, BUT I'm keeping them now. My mind is going a mile a minute right now. THANK YOU SO MUCH 👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome. You can get flickering LEDs. Whilst the bare LEDs would give you more options, you would need to solder them to wires and add appropriate resistors. You can buy LED candles that flicker. The best option would be tea light style candles.
This is awesome! The crafts were perfect and the story telling made me smile from your self deprecating humor. Overall I think you did great on both the story and the craft.
I randomly found your channel while watching Facebook videos (yay for the algorithm actually working for once) and not only do I adore your spooky crafts, but your commentary through was hilarious. So glad to have discovered you. 🦇💜
I adore creepy crafts and i have a tip:You can make pretty realistic fake skin with some mode Podge (or glue)mixed with paint I figured that out bc I spilled paint in ma glue lol😂 love your art and just you in general I get super excited when you post I'm a 16-year-old artist and you inspire me with every video ❤
Your self depreciation is endearing. I love your style. Keep the story going with an elevator to the basement or dungeon. Otis could have all of his dead workers, aka zombies, cooking the food too. 😅 Great project, so creative!
Oh my goodness! This is the first video of yours I am seeing and I gotta tell ya, you are hilarious and I loved all it. The actual craft itself, the story and Miss Emily coming in and out to inspect your progress and provide cuddles while you work. I am going to check out your other videos as you have a new subscriber. I have never come across any videos like yours and that's a good thing. It's nice to see something new and different and it makes me giggle. Thanks Ashley!
I think you just made up a story about my dad 😮😂 except he doesn't unalive people lol but his name is Otis and he's always trying to be an entrepreneur and making things out of junk too. Lol I enjoyed this one a lot!!! I'm addicted to watching your videos
Ashley you are totally weird, but I don't mind! I enjoyed watching you upcycle an old jewelry box into a Fright Mall! Love all the creepy miniatures and especially the furnace in the basement! You rock, girl! ~Janet in Canada
SO COOL!!! [This reminds me of the old house my aunt inherited years ago. Your "basement feature" reminds me of the ancient furnace/incinerator in the basement--I guess back in the day, all old houses had these...]
Love it, the details are awesome! And the story was like a combo of the The Shining and Sweeney Todd, both of which I love, mixed with your own unique flair XD
if i knew u irl it would be amazing i love octopuses, mushrooms, mini stuff, halloween stuff, creepy projects, and crafting (i talk alot to 😅) and no im not saying this because i wanna be EXACTLY like her but i think she is so cool and i love her little story's
Ashley, I follow you on tiktok and I love your videos very much, they got me through the worst times of the loss of my soul fur baby. Please never stop creating ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It looks like you didn't do enough passes with a high grit sandpaper. I would recommend an orbital sander in your toolbox if you find yourself sanding flat surfaces often
I'm experiencing jealousy rn. I did a haunted house, and really intended to create a chalk ring for rituals AND a ouija board. But encountered complete creative mental block regarding both so never did
For the fire If you can find something that can spin in a circle (like merry-go-round ish thing) you can put it in front of the light and have something on it that is sometimes blocks the light to help it flicker Or something else that is not electricity just hang a string with like a brick ish or plank ish thing on the bottom and just swing it in front of the light (hopefully some ideas to get you going in another direction)
Am so glad i came across your videos, so much fun and the stories are great. Love your cat. Will be getting your book. Can you tell me where do you get all your wood and miniature stuff from and will it be in your book? Cant wait to see what you come up with next. Keep doing what you are doing its fab. xx
Wow! We bought my mom a jewelry box identical to the one you made into a spooky mall. I have no idea what happened to hers. Perhaps it might just be in a spooky mall somewhere? J/k. But I never thought I’d ever want to buy another one (until about 5 minutes ago). 🥴🤷🏻♀️😎 Great job!! I would love to own a copy of your book. You are so talented! 😎👍🏻👍🏻🫶🏻

You might need a lower grip # too i’ve also found like a sponge sandpaper thing. It’s a hard sponge at the store.

Sometimes the story are so bad they are funny and I need funny right now😂😱🤣
I'm a big fan, especially of your stories. I pronounce words weird too, don't change for others. Being who you truly are makes you even more awesome! :)
Alice is supposed to be 7 years old in the book so eating weird food and drink might not be so bizarre in context. And I love an Emily appearance.
Agreed! I love an Emily tax. ❤
Emily is gorgeous, love the creepy piece of art.😊❤
I legit stalk your page daily to see if you have a new video out lol I've looked for similar creators to bide my time until your next post but you are one of a kind!! love your videos and the stories!! Fantastic!!!
I came here to say this same thing. Her stories are so great and I love her videos
Ashley, this is fantastic! I just love your wild and wacky stories that go with your projects. Keep them coming, please!
I love the amount of details done in this! Especially with how small some of the items are!

Emily being super ‘helpful’ 😂😍
Very cool build
I can very much relate....cats are pests 😅
your videos are the best because of your mad stories, more please x
What a talent.🤯🤯
The edit between the chair in pieces to a full chair was PHENOMENAL!!
I love everything you create. Emily reminds me of my cat Precious. He demands you pet him, and then he bites you.😂😂
I FREAKING LOVE CREEPY MINIATURES AND CUTE CATSSSSS‼️‼️‼️‼️
I could watch you create things forever and a day! I love the stories and the transitions. 😊

Yay! I've been intentionally avoiding the shorts here and on TT because I was looking forward to watching this one in full. Love how it turned out
This is awesome!

You are UNBELIEVABLY TALENTED!!!
So so sooooooo cool!! I love your haunted hidy holes
My mother had this same exact jewelry box when I was a little girl. She had to constantly tell me to get out of it bc I wanted to put the jewelry on 😊
Soooo creepy! I love it.
For flickering lights, you can take apart an electric tealight, works like a campfire as well 😊👍
You are so creative!

P.S. I love extra long art videos!!! Ty!

I'm experiencing jealousy rn. I did a haunted house, and really intended to create a chalk ring for rituals AND a ouija board. But encountered complete creative mental block regarding both so never did
The entire time, I was just envisioning what Otis looks like. I'd imagine he'd just be otis from the house of 1000 corpses 😂
Amazing ❤
For the fire If you can find something that can spin in a circle (like merry-go-round ish thing) you can put it in front of the light and have something on it that is sometimes blocks the light to help it flicker
Or something else that is not electricity just hang a string with like a brick ish or plank ish thing on the bottom and just swing it in front of the light (hopefully some ideas to get you going in another direction)
Hey Ash, congrats on getting into youtube. Only came across this video today per youtube feed. Happy for your success, and wish you all the best.
