The smile on Clark’s face is so endearing, up till now he’s only met meteor freaks with powers dissimilar to his. This is truly the first time he’s felt like someone else, could move with them; someone on his level that he was free with.

Actually he smiled because he was in awe of Barry. Imagine giving it your all with the dude beside you and at the last second, he says that was a good warmup and totally destroys you. And you realize that you were never even close the entire time.

When I was younger and I saw these two interact, it always made me want a brother.
@@DJ_TRON I like to think it's a mix of both. They had a very sibling-esque relationship, and though Bart is faster, he really admired that Clark could even move at a similar speed and could relate to being faster than everyone else. To the og comment, Bart was the first person (and non meteor freak) in the show who really pushed Clark mentally to see the world differently. He actually used his powers fun and treated them like a gift and not like a curse as Clark did. Basically he served to help Clark loosen up and not be so stiff all the time. That smile gives me the vibe that he was happy to see a friend he could relate too turn his life around, as well as show his real power in a friendly race
For a show with basic effects, it never stops being good

@@joekent5675 and still is nowhere near close to a real speedster, Superman still has all this kind of powers and is amazing, but the speedsters are connected to a energy so powerful speedwise that can travel between dimensions, can time travel can even vibrate so fast that even heat vision cannot harm him, in theory, the speedsters are infinite fast. So. Yes superman is very powerful, the most power beingn in general, but speedwise i think the speedsters are the ones that surpass him.

Bart “When I’m asleep I’m just as slow as everybody else.” Impactful!
This is by far my most memorable moment in Smallville… because it finally showed there were other heroes out there, and the fact that the JL could possibly happen… and it did.
Then when Bart and Clark finally race at the end… the wave from Bart, basically saying “don’t worry, Clark… I’ll be back”. And for the first time, it looked like Clark actually enjoyed usually his abilities & just remembering to have “fun”.

Loved how they cut down "Feels Like Today" to a more upbeat pace to match the energy of the scene. The race with Clark/Bart is my favorite Smallvillle ending. 💯
What humbles me about this clip is superman's humility and desire for friendship, he showed bart how much he has become a beloved friend, I think it's sad that Bart ran away from having a good friendship
Fun Fact: Smallville was the very FIRST show/movie to ever portray superspeed by having everything become slow. The producers were tight on a budget and came up with the idea of people "frozen in place" while Clark moves normal speed. All the Quicksilver Xmen scenes, Flash Arrowverse scenes, etc. The original ideas were pioneered here in Smallville.
I think 2:10 is the hardest Clark has ever thrown a normal human. Straight up killer.

What’s cool about this is Bart Allen (Barry Allen kid) is from the future and when you see him go full throttle he disappears it’s because he’s returning home. He even said it would be cool if you could come with to Clark Kent. Pretty neat how an old show used time travel.

Shows that he’s way faster than Superman…somehow can’t get up fast enough to get away from villain pointing the gun at him.
I assume he was a dizzy from being knocked down so couldn't focus on getting his speed up, but yeah it was a stupid plot contrivance. Then again, that could always be said for speedsters. How can they ever get hurt when they can react within picoseconds? Even if he had a sniper rifle pointed 2 inches from his head and it fired without him noticing, he should feel the bullet gently graving his hair and just peer over his shoulder to see it as if it were frozen in time.
Didn’t make sense I guess it was just used to have Superman come save him but flash wouldn’t have but idk if this is Bart or Barry because Bart is from the future might ran himself back in time without realizing
@@Here_is_Waldo yeah fair enough, the only way I could think of explaining it in other cases is that they have to activate the speed force first so they could get hit by things they don’t see coming. Basically it’s not always on so to speak (except maybe with kingdom Come Flash that can’t ever slow down) but if there’s one consistency with all the speedsters at this point it’s their random speed inconsistency
He uses speed force. His body himself is not fast and strong.

Nah. Clark runs fast because his legs are strong. And flies fast because of the laws of physics. Bart runs fast because he has a force capable of controlling every last drop of kinetic energy in the multi-verse on his side giving him its power. It’s not close, Bart casually blitzed him that wasn’t even remotely close to his top speed.
I think Clatk was finally happy there was someone else out there with powers too. That he was friends with.

I’ve made his little hand sign (just before he accelerate) all my childhood to look like a cool guy everytime i was leaving. But at the end everyone found that weird and ridiculous. Why movie are so Much cool than life.

The kid who wasnt first accepted for his abilities finally gets accepted for his abilities and finds out that he still wants to leave. Still wants his own life not to stay for someone else. It balanced out his childhood! He's off the streets. Accepted all the fact of his humanity when he's asleep. Helped clark see the gift and not the curse of his abilities. You dont even know it all; yet and still there's more in this world. Cause who wants to know everything. And so then he can think growth mindset. Not just about the league but also about his powers. And for the guy who once felt like he had no where to go he can chose to say. And when youre abilities cannot yet help you find someone that you really need to in time he used his human abilities with the Mp3 playsrs to find bART in time. For the guy who always uses his powers to solve human powers but still wants to be human. Now he's learning to use his human powers to save his supernatural friends. Especially when thats the only ways to find help and or also save them. Hence there he finds the lowly. Those who really need help, guidance and saving with and or without magical, metor, supernatural, etc abilities. Especially when he might want ton do more with his life he gets to start a cross over. A touch by an angel with the super human humanities aspects!!! Thats the show!!! Helping the kids who maybe didnt get the warm welcoming instead of "capturing the meteor freaks" cause lets be real he was in some aspect a prison with a job. And or a bounty hunter for meteor freaks before hand. So helping them guiding them coaching them but also allowing them to be set free should they chose to in this world if not just small ville. Not just potentially locking them up in Bellreve!! Thats growth!!! Thats Growth on Both their ends. Best, X. Inn Jesus Name, Amen.

@@lucaswaldhofer8081 Its not nostalgia, it was better than the actual DC from CW, because smallville was made with more genuinly passion, actors was in it, trying to actualy act, there was chemistry, there was some corny and weird moment and that gave its authenticity as well.
Watching some stuff right now and yes some FX took a shot but its feels way better for some reasons, because they tried and because you can see the actors, its not full on CGI with bad actors

I remember being a kid in the 2000’s, I was like in 4th grade and my little cousins was like in 1st. One Saturday morning after staying the night babysitting, this episode came on, and we both just watched the whole thing. Sure enough he loved the character of Flash and we both pretend to chase after another at that “high speed” motion lol. So this scene always makes me nostalgic. I was never a big Superman fan but I really loved Tom Welling’s portrayal of Clark Kent. So you can imagine how hyped we were when a few years later they had the whole team up episode haha

The end scene still makes me tear up, especially knowing what Bart's fate inevitably is in the series. Clark really did have one hell of an impact on Impulse. The kid came up and became a real hero....and he inspired the Smallvile iteration of the Teen Titans.

I truly believe Bart helped unlock Clark’s faster speed. Every ep after this one not only displayed CK’s speed feats with better cgi but it made them seem even faster. Case in point: the winning touchdown throw/Chloe save/back in position on the field scene.
