We do the same things with our pots and pans! We moved into an apartment without a microwave so we decided not to buy a new one and it's actually so much easier than I expected. Thanks for sharing all these tips! I like what you said about going through the house and collecting things that don't belong. I will try this, it sounds great!

I love this video! The last 8 years of marriage and motherhood has been a gradual collection of helpful hacks to master homemaking, and I always love to hear more that might work for me and my family. I love "teach tidiness and lower your standards."

My tip would be to take the time to meal plan, meal plan, meal plan!! Also, once you've meal planned use your local grocery pick-up/delivery service to save time. I meal plan 2 weeks at a time, and I order whatever I need from Kroger Clicklist the day before I head out. Twice a month I just have to run into Trader Joe's to pick up a portion of our grocery items, and then I swing through Kroger Clicklist on the way home. Boom! Done for 2 weeks and no stress. Easy peasy. 😄

I liked the daily list. I used to do that. And I should get back into it. Emma liked the laundry day idea. I've tried it... Though it doesn't seem to work for us. Brent wants it done when there is a full load. It's more than once or twice a WK. I love the clean up as you go too! And pick up after yourself in the home. I'm always talking to the kids about this. They are what I do and it helps so much. But yes training them to do it as well gets time consuming til they are older. Then it's so nice.

Cleaning the kitchen between meals is so important. If I’m busy I will leave it and I always kick myself!

I think the always have list is great! With four kids and hubby and I, we don't have set laundry days. Some 6+ member families may be more structured than me, but we just do it when we do it.
I'm curious, have you always been fairly tidy and organized or is it something you have had to learn the "hard way" :)

Hey lady:) I am so encouraged by how gentle and helpful as a wife you are..i fall short of being gentle and am often times angry and bitter towards my husband. He is in grad school and trying to get promoted at work and often times is studying or working when he is home and I feel he tends to act controliing and micromanage me.we havehad continually had marital counseling from our church elders but sometimes it feels like God is not working on my heart to be more gentle or loving or in his to not be controlling or put hope in work. I pray a lot for God to help me with my emotions and for my marriage but I often times I guess don't obey the spirit or just find myself angry..do you have any advice? If it were not for jesus i know we would be divorced. Also how do I gently confront my husband when I feel he is being controlling ?

We do a lot of the same things...I think the hardest is teaching our children to do the same...my son's personality goes along with it easier than my daughter...it's a work in progress...whew! ;)

My paper planner is like my lifeline I have no idea how I would balance my life with 3 kids and a husband without my planner and lists. My girls usually always help in the kitchen with cooking and the clean up. They love it it’s fun for them and I’m teaching them skills they need when they are out of my home and on their own.

We sometimes place the pan right in the fridge depending on how much food is leftover. I am curious though, since this video is several years old. Do you still not have a microwave?

Thanks for posting! Do you make a menu before going to the grocery? Or do you basically make the same foods every week?
