    Bottom bracket size in this Cubes is 73mm. Did you have to put some spacers or washers to properly install this Bafang motor? Is chainring with offset to correct chain alignment?

    • @mariostomas
      @mariostomas  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no need for big spacers, only 2-3 small spacers- washers to align correctly the big washer coming with the kit. The chainring has no offset to correct the chain alignment. but you dont have any problem. you can buy aftermarket chainring with offset.

      @@mariostomas thanks. What about engine position? I know the Cube frame has a specific cable management feature that prevents the motor to be positioned higher up. Have you tried to file off the excessive part of the bike frame to be able to position the engine higher from the ground?

    • @mariostomas

    I wouldnt run my hardtail mountain bikes without front air forks and a suspension seat post. I have 2, bafang bbshd mountain bikes and a 750w mid srive i just bought. I never use gear sensors. Instead i change gears wben i stop pedaling then start pedaling and that gives a smooth change. Plus i found brake sensors very annoying. I use micro shift derailiers on all my bikes with a clutch an a ebike rated chain that everyone should be using on any ebikes. I also use sram level hydraulic disc brakes with ebike brake pads and ebike tyres from scwalbe which so far have done over 300kms and the tread lools like knew. And are an offroad tread. I would say i would not use an ebike without first installing an ebike rated chain and have a few spare quick links and fit ebike rated disc brake pads. I road one bike with standard pads and came down a 10% gradient amd by the time i hit the bottom, the brakes were almost non existant and were almost on fire on the rear. Good brakes are needed due to the extra weight and speed. Most brake companies like shimano and tektro all make ebike brake pads as well as sram. And one other thing worth noting is that using a programming cable can introduce a 30H code. I have also just had a eggrider i was programming on my phone make the motor it was attached to go into a 30h state. Apparently baffang are making motors so they cant be programmed using the aftermarket cable. As for the eggrider causing the 30h state, it is apparently lnown but i am het to tackle it. Im not very pleased as the motor controller it did it to o just sent away to be reflashed. My advice is to stear clear of programming cables and see if your supplier can program your motpr for you.

    I got the same on a Trek 4500 26" hardtail with a weak 48v-10ah battery stock bafang 44t chainring. What cog brand ? I replaced the oem 11-34 to an cheap 11-44. The torque is so much i can hear clunking noise when shifting worried it will break. Top speed is aprox 30 mph!

      @@stevencosby6708 Yup got all sensors brakes & gear still clunking cheapo 11-40T cog. The problem is i can't find a good quality cog that the BBSO2 can handle for the 8-speed cog. However, my Trek 4500 OEM rear rim Shimano 11-34T is perfect high quality but, sucks at hill climbing.

    • @bujin5455
      @bujin5455 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HB-yq8gy You could always consider moving to an internally geared hub. Those are generally stronger than derailleur setups. They also allow you to run a stronger single speed chain (since the chain no longer has to fit between the cogs of a cassette). I'm personally running a Rohloff, which I think is the way to go, but there are other solid options as well.
