Don't sweat it, I only rode a cruiser for my MSF course last year, it was a 125cc bike. I still am in love with that purple, so sexy! All of these new bikes you get to ride:)
TheSighBored its not bad, didn't bother me but its not the bike I was like oooh yah when I saw:) Its like a rental car, its going to do the job but you wont really fall in love with it.
Thanks for the review mate. Im a newbie in bike arena and was expecting to get this as my first bike. I did rode a vulcan 500 once, and it feels very good, minus the very loud sound that triggers some neighbours alarm, haha. A cruiser guy at heart, as you said it.
Great review, this looks like the bike for me. I'm still on my first bike which I learned on (Honda CB600F Hornet) and I know this will be a step down as regards sporting performance but for a new rider who wants a bit of style, is happy with day trips and isn't looking for long tours or racetrack speeds I think it's going to be excellent. My ultimate goal is the Triumph Rocket 3 and I know some people buy heavy bikes too soon but I'll take it step by step!
I'll be getting this bike in a month. Thanks to you. I'm a cruiser guy by the way. So i know what you mean when you say you were adjusting to the bike. In fact what i love in your review is when you pushed the bike to its top speed. Most cruisers wiggles vibrates and what have you on high speed. And i didnt hear any discomfort from you. I'm sold! Again thanks to you!
+TheSighBored As a rider of "Sport Cruiser" bikes like the Magna, Vmax, KZ, GS Etc.... I can usually corner with most sport bikes using proper corning technique for the particular bike you are on. I own a 2002 VF750C Magna and have won many bets with sport riders. I have been looking at the new "Sport Cruiser" bikes. My only issue with them is the parallel twin engine. No one makes a small V4 anymore. This is fine, but I loose 30-40 hp buying a new bike in this class. What do you think about the low end on the Vulcan S? Thanks for the review BTW!
Hi, for myself, I felt that the low-mid range was pretty good. The acceleration was nice for a 650 parallel. Since you have more experience with bigger cruisers you might find this a bit lacking in punch if you were to compare it with what you've ridden before, however since it's smaller, it's going to be lighter as well, making it more nimble. The nimble feel makes you want to just carve corners and probably going to end up scraping pegs everywhere having fun in the corners. You should definitely give it a try, maybe on a test bike at the dealership. Cheers and thanks for watching!
Lots of wind for sure, plus the cruiser riding position made it so that you get hit by more wind, had to use my thighs to squeeze on the tank for extra grip, I would say it wasn't comfortable when gunning the throttle fully, but "santai" riding was enjoyable.
Cool helmet, is it the Airoh TR1 modular helmet? What do you think of it? Is it comfortable? I'm thinking of getting the Airoh J106 (successor to TR1, and basically same design). I heard that the detachable lower piece fits pretty close to the mouth, any issues with that?
My TR-1 padding is really thin, and it's more like an open face than full-face, so if you are looking for open face type, then yes this is in that category. For myself the front face was not that close to my mouth, so it was alright for me. Honestly it's a more for looks type of helmet to me, I would opt for a full face for better protection and comfort.
Personally, I think it would. It's pretty easy to handle, center of gravity / weight is low down, bike doesn't feel that heavy to handle. It's not that high performance as the ER-6n for example so it should be good. Thanks for viewing!
excellent review..looking for my first bike and this is very useful..my short list is the vulcon s and the yamaha v star 650..both seem comparable..can you do a comparison please ?
I don't think I can do that comparison, because I don't know if I can get a Yamaha V Star 650 to try. If I do, I will be sure to include a comparison. Thanks for viewing!
Thanks for viewing! Normally it does have good audio, maybe the position of cruiser catches a bit more wind than my usual riding position.. Also going fast tends have more wind buffeting..
Good review. Just one question, how many colors vulcan s have? I am planning to get one. I ride naked bike 150cc for almost 10 years and i really into cruiser bike like this one.
The availability of colors largely depend on the country you are in.. You can refer to your country's Kawasaki dealer for the list of colors offered in your country.
Haha.. Cool.. But still what I mentioned is true, depending on the year, sometimes the color offerings are different.. You can check with any of the Kawasaki dealers for available colors.. :)
Nice review....helps me a lot in making decision....i was considering getting a naked bike....but after watching this video....i've change my decision....vulcan s for me....next.....TBR Comps exhaust hehehe
Im actually love the look of a naked bike like mt09 n shiver but I thought to myself that the look of a cruiser bike never dies,u know wat I mean,it doesnt change, never gets old, thats y n I hope there will be vance & hinse exhaust 4 this bike
Doing tight U-turns, you can scrape the pegs. Coming from a sportsbike, I usually like to take my turns late and lean it in, if I do the same with this, it will definitely scrape the pegs, I have to adopt a different line for turns for this bike than what I would do on a sportsbike. The bike itself is quite nimble and will happily lean without effort, so it's up to the rider to control it from touching the pegs. Real fun to ride through twisty just need to control yourself from leaning too much, unless you don't mind scraping the pegs a bit here and there. :)
+TheSighBored Thanks for reply. Have a Street Triple R and a Bonneville SE. Thinking about in a future, sell the Bonnie and get this, but so far I have not found a better bike than the Bonnie. It has much more lean angle and awesome relax riding position.
i want to buy the XSR900 but i think it is too quick, this Vulcan can be fun to ride but without the urge to go fast all the time. does it get boring any time soon?
TheSighBored if it wasn't for the danger, i would love to own a z1000, but the vulcan s relaxed riding position and the nice ( - to 60 mph ) pick up makes this one a nice ride. but man! i adore the 1 liter naked bikes.
I think riding a 1000cc or below doesn't really affect the danger levels, it's how you ride, your riding skills, your riding attitude (defensive/aggressive) that plays a role in the danger level.. Can always start on the Vulcan and see if you should progress upwards or it's just perfect for you as you thought.
TheSighBored yes, you are right. Regarding the Z1000, it does not have the TC and driving aids electronics. so the closest thing to it is the new 2017 z1000sx since it has quite good electronics package for non experts wanting to push it (a bit) sometimes. but as i said, you are right, riding is not a joke, anyone has to know his skills levels and grow it gradually. a simple wrong twist of the throttle in the wrong time can be deadly especially on higher displacement motorcycles.
Electronics are good to aid the rider but one can still ride decently without electronics, it's not a deal breaker in my opinion, in fact sometimes electronics compensates for the learning rider and allow them to ride harder than they are really capable of, and the rider will never know it thinking they are good and that's usually when they get into trouble when the bike is unable to "save" them, or they hop on a different bike without electronics.
I was sure that this was the bike for me, then I thought did I really put myself through my test just to ride a 650? Plus some say the bike looks the small side, despite the ergofit. Go bigger, you'll grow into it, people said. Doesn't matter how big, it's how you use the throttle, etc. That's why I ended up with the mega-version of what this bike is about... the Suzuki M1800R. Now I'm sitting here with a displaced shoulder, cracked rib, a grounded bike and a £2000 repair bill on the way. But it wasn't about the size and weight, I adapted to that surprisingly well. It was the lack of ABS. Stupid error, put myself in a situation where I grabbed at the front brake and that was it. So I'm back here (luckily,) and thinking again about the Vulcan S...
Sorry to hear about your crash, sometimes too much bike is not that ideal, you can still have a lot of fun with smaller displacement bikes, and a 650 is not really a small displacement.
Thank you, I was lucky to walk away from it and even rode it home (with some difficulty!) I had never taken the Intruder over 100mph and the Vulcan S is easily capable of that, so I will get myself a test ride on one.
Well they are different style of bikes, the MT-07 (for FZ-07) is more a naked bike while this is more cruiser. Depends on which type of riding you want, laid back, easy riding, go with the Vulcan, if you intend to do some spirited or twisty riding the naked one would be better suited.
No offence, but... Why do Sportsbike guys review cruisers? and then make lots of ill-informed comments about them. I think us cruiser guys should repeat the favour. I can just imagine criticising the cramped riding position, snatchy throttle, ugly looks, lack of comfort etc etc. also, whilst i'm ranting... what is the point of having a picture-in-picture which just repeats what is on the main screen? Sorry about that, but that's my view.
I reviewed it as a first timer riding a cruiser style motorcycle, sure a sportsbike is cramped, lack of comfort, etc, it's true. Same as a cruiser not being able to be leaned a lot without scraping the pegs, that's true too. As long as it's facts I don't see it as criticizing. Looks are subjective, those would be more on personal opinion. The picture in picture as mentioned in the clip is to show the meter display clearer, since I'm seated further back. Some viewers want to see the meter especially speed reading. Thanks for your feedback! :)
+TheSighBored lol you can see the indicators better on the main screen. Also, I enjoy it when different riders ride different style of bikes; gives a wider perspective. =)
Why? He's obviously asian, you can say that by his accent, but his voice is actually quite good for this type of video as you can easly hear what he's saying through the wind, traffic and engine noise.
The way you are seated (riding position) doesn't allow you to lift your butt off the seat with your leg much (like regular bikes), I was wondering how do the cruiser guys deal with this. Good review, nice landscapes, good commentary. And no need to apologize. Kudos!
Good review brother! Yes, I am a cruiser guy and I agree that with more speed, the more your body feels like to fly :)
I bought a 2015 Vulcan S early this month (March 2020) and I absolutely love the bike.
Nice.. Enjoy your ride with your Vulcan S..
Don't sweat it, I only rode a cruiser for my MSF course last year, it was a 125cc bike. I still am in love with that purple, so sexy! All of these new bikes you get to ride:)

Very informative. Covered all the details i needed. Be well and never mind the haters.
Excellent job!
Thanks for viewing! I don't mind the negative or criticism, always room for improvement. :)
I'll be getting this bike in a month. Thanks to you. I'm a cruiser guy by the way. So i know what you mean when you say you were adjusting to the bike.

Kills me we can't get the purple here in the States!
You can consider custom painting one in purple, or matte purple vinyl wrap, either one should look pretty good.
umm could you put a link at the description what was the top speed.
thanks alot mate.. love your vids
Thanks! The top speed I managed to get was 178 km/h on the meter, which I guess should be more like 170 km/h in actual speed.
will buy it soon..... thanks for a great review....
Happy shopping and enjoy your new bike, thanks for viewing!
How was the wind hitting you at high speed & without a windsheild on the bike? Is it comfortable? Btw good video 👍🏽
Lots of wind for sure, plus the cruiser riding position made it so that you get hit by more wind, had to use my thighs to squeeze on the tank for extra grip, I would say it wasn't comfortable when gunning the throttle fully, but "santai" riding was enjoyable.
Good effort in reviewing this tamed beast. Take care.

Nice review man, thanks a bunch!
25:18 almost..... nice helmet bro.. good review..
Thanks! Yeah was going in too many circles became dizzy, but it was all good. :)
Great review! Jalan di malay bagus untuk motorcycle, aku jadi mau pindah xD
Thanks for viewing!
nice review, still thinking on having this bike or big scooter in term of comfortability, durability and maintenance for long ride in the future.
Scooter might be the comfy choice, style wise if you are a cruiser fan then this style fits better than a maxi scooter look.. Thanks for viewing!

Great review, SighedBored! However, you should do something about the terrible wind noise from your helmet. It's disrupts your otherwise good audio.

Thats a awesome review. good job.
help me a bit.
Glad it did, thanks for viewing!
nice bro... is it suitable for big guy?
I believe so.. Plenty of leg and arm room. Best to try one out for yourself and see if it's comfortable.
very nice review... thank you
Thanks for viewing!
Nice review sir.. How about the throttle response in all rev range? Is it accurate and smooth?
It had a smooth and strong acceleration.
@@thesighbored alrite.. Is this bike suitable for city ride like in KL?
Made me giggle with your commentary lol. You rode that like you stole it man, was it broken in at all? A bit shaky but good vid.
Yes the bike was broken-in prior to me riding it like I stole it. Thanks for viewing! :)
are u from bandar saujana putra or just pass by at petronas there?.. coz my friend there also use vulcan s.
Cool! Nope I don't stay around that area, but my friend does.
Nice review....helps me a lot in making decision....i was considering getting a naked bike....but after watching this video....i've change my decision....vulcan s for me....next.....TBR Comps exhaust hehehe

I guess it's more for the style having a bigger wheel in the front.
I ride 125cc 6 years..do you think this bike is a good step forward?
If you are into cruiser bikes, yes it is a good step forward.
Why you have 2 cameras on the same spot?!?!
I was trying to have one take a close up of the dash since I'm seating further back on cruiser position.
where do you live. ive never seen roads like that lol
This is Malaysia.

Great sexy looking bike I'm deciding to this Vulcan S or the Yamaha YZF-07 naked bike
Well they are different style of bikes, the MT-07 (for FZ-07) is more a naked bike while this is more cruiser. Depends on which type of riding you want, laid back, easy riding, go with the Vulcan, if you intend to do some spirited or twisty riding the naked one would be better suited.
kalau buat ulang alik kerja setiap hari 180km ok tak motor ni? or just sesuai utk weekend ride?
What type of roads are you travelling on your commute? If you're not in a rush (ride fast) this bike is just fine.
love the bike have one my self.

Thanks for the feedback, will consider not doing that in the future.
+TheSighBored lol you can see the indicators better on the main screen. Also, I enjoy it when different riders ride different style of bikes; gives a wider perspective. =)
i think it is better for you to use video camera on tank to be the main video
Thanks for the suggestion, I used the helmet as the main because it sync better with the audio.
aku nak tanya r25 vs vulcan s mana top speed??
I didn't try the R25, but I think the Vulcan S has a slightly higher top speed, but won't be comfortable to reach that top speed.
+ammar zainal cruiser x fokus pd speed sbnrnya.. fokus pd beauty n easy ride..
hahaha pahammm
the engine sounds crap and the exhaust is too quiet i do want one of these bikes so the exhaust will be the first thing to go
Whats up!
What's up!
i have one. cool bike. :)
You definitely didn’t like cruisers or dual purpose bikes brother👍🏼😂😂
Those types of bikes are not really my personal taste but it's good to try them out once a while.. :)
I could listen to you talk for hours about the most pointless dribble....no...no homo
Are you high? This dudes voice is fucking terrible.
Why? He's obviously asian, you can say that by his accent, but his voice is actually quite good for this type of video as you can easly hear what he's saying through the wind, traffic and engine noise.
en toda mi vida no m va a alcanzar para comprar una asi
show the whole bike not the road.
I was the only one person and I only had a couple of hours with the bike, hopefully next time will have more time and friends to help out.
lmao dude ur so funny hahahaha
Terribly bumpy
The way you are seated (riding position) doesn't allow you to lift your butt off the seat with your leg much (like regular bikes), I was wondering how do the cruiser guys deal with this. If the shocks were too soft then it will feel spongy and that does not feel good either, you'll have that wavy feel. My only thought was to go really slow and steady.
makes sense. cheers
TheSighBored you take it in the spine! that's why cruiser riders are real men! (although with bad spines)
I love my spine though. :D
i like the Terbaik..hahha
