    Thank you so much Niels, for your great effort in improving the physics! I will surely try my best to integrate your work into the current mod! I will contact you in RD soon about the further plans.

    On sim racing, there’s always a question that no one asked and someone really eager to answer it. I appreciate Niels for being the guy who can and wants to try this type of stuff.

    Awesome to see the physics of one of the first serious racing games I played dissected! F1GP was great in many ways. The single PC multiplayer option I played a lot together with a friend. You would drive a set amount of laps, then the computer would take over car control for player 1 and switch to the car of player 2 and release control. We played many championships this way. I do think the physics of Indianapolis 500 by Papyrus came across a bit more advanced, and from a couple of years earlier.

    You can't fool me Niels, on the left is just AMS again but on very low graphics!

    Man, this is really amazing.
    I played F1GP 1 for many, many years.
    I worked on fixing the AI line on Interlagos and Monaco just for fun.
    I played several seasons modded by a program named F1editor or gpeditor... i can't really remember.
    Lots of great memories here.
    If the tracks for this mod were more visually like the old Gp1, would be fantastic.
    Thanks for your work.

    Niels you're a hero, along with Whills, for keeping alive a historic sim that really transformed, imo, arcade racing games onto a path that we started getting proper sims.

    Great fun Niels, well done. Microprose did a lot for gamers, they also were cutting edge in flight sims with Falcon 4.0 in about 97.

    Looking forward to the release of the F1GP Revamped!!! I wonder what would Geoff Crammond feelings be as soon as he knew this. If I were him I'd be dumbfounded and very emotional. That guy literally changed my life to a very positive path.

    I recall doing 81 laps of Monza in F1 GP, and subsequently stuffed up my A and Z keys through having sweaty hands and managed to short them out. Had to wait for a few days for the contacts to dry out.

    Thank you, Niels, for this big improvement of F1 Grand Prix 😉 I never though that will be such major update after 30 years on the market.😱 Codemasters have now a threat of not being the first choice of F1 game on the market this year. 😃 For me it was fenomenal game. I played it on Amiga so I constantly shuffeled my 3.5 floppy discs to load next tracks. Then I played it on PC with 25.4 frames per second and it was shock to me how smooth the game were running. Great times.🤓 I even send my times to the first F1 league via internet. We compared our times once a week and get scores upon sended logs. I wish you all the best 😊 I'm waiting also for such update to F1 GP2. 🤭🤫 Maybe you will make a try also with that F1 legend game. Anyway big thanks for your great job 👌💪👍 It brings me a lot of nice memories 😎🤩😈

    • @NielsHeusinkveld
      @NielsHeusinkveld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. The great thing about F1GP memories is that the game is actually still fun! Some of the older games didn't stand the test of time too well, but the clever keyboard controls made F1GP very challenging without making it too frustrating.

    Ha its good to see that we enjoyed all the same titles. Test Drive 1 and Bill Elliot's Nascar challange also blew my mind back then. I only had a monochrome monitor. It was so realistic... well that's what I thought anyway. And Flacon AT for PC and Fighter Bomber for C64.

    This is amazing!! World Circuit (F1GP) was the reason I bought my first 86-based PC.. Prior to that, I was a C64 guy and LOVED Crammond’s Revs/Revs+.. My memory sucks now, but were all of the cars in the original using the same physics with different strength settings?? 🤔

    • @jspoons6619
      @jspoons6619 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NielsHeusinkveld Stunt Car racer would be more suited to the BeamNG Drive platform , with its soft body physic's model . and track building options . GP is a classic my first true fully featured F1 game it is easy to forget this game had ever F1 track from that area included , a fully race weekend ok fictional teams though they included a editor in the game . so most quickly added all the correct drivers and Teams . it even had weather I am pretty sure it was dynamic to. I seem to remember racing in Rain then the track drying out . though I have not played GP 1 since way back so I could have mixed up some of the later features found in the series from GP 2 to GP4.
      But GP had some many firsts back in the 90's. Hot seat was one of the best features because you could race both your teams cars , giving you some nice tactical options to help your team mates during the race.
      I think every game Crammond wrote was groundbreaking at that time be it Sentinel , REV's , Spitfire 40 , Stunt Car racer, GP1/2/3/4 . it was very odd how he just dropped out of the whole game development sector.
      there was an interview a few years back but I have little idea what he is doing these days.
