Solar energy works great in certain climates. Hawaii, Southern California, Arizona, etc. I paid off my solar install in just 3 years. Without solar my electric bill out be $500 /mo. Now I pay $20 a month. The $480 I save every month is basically free money. The math probably doesn't work out in a place where it rains all the time and there is snow in the winter but in Hawaii solar is amazing.
@@TomMcDonaldatYahooDotCom No I don't sell them and I don't even remember the company that set it up for me. You will have to do your own research.

15k? I'll believe it when I see it.
From Toyota 15 grand, but from your local dealer 35 grand! 🫣
Yup stealership up charge!!!!
Probably $15,999 base. Then you start adding all the fees. But I think it still doesnt start at $16K base.
@@TRONABORON Exactly.
He never mentions that, Toyota dealers never negotiate and there are always markups
15k?....Yeah, that's before 80% dealer markup.
Most likely it would be 100% dealer markup 🤣
If it’s 30 or less ill still consider it a win lol. They should really not say 15k though, thats a joke
Miata what?
Saw a 10k mark up on Toyota new land cruiser
*That's a feature!!!*
I will guarantee you, you will never see any new pickup truck for sale in the USA for $15,000 or anywhere close to that.
Exact same thing happened with the c8 corvette when it was released.
@@rickybobby7276what happened???
True, Ford said the Maverick was going for $20k and good luck finding one under $30k. Plus it's going to be an undersized engine with a turbo or a hybrid. NO thanks
With all the money the federal reserve has printed, a pepperoni pizza is around 15 grand now.

Hey Scotty, I've been watching you for a long time. I used everything I learned from you and I happened across a 2003 Toyota Tundra 4.7 liter, TRD with only 90k miles on it. I had my mechanic go through it with a fine tooth comb and he told me this truck is like brand new. The engine is just barely broken in. $8000 is what I paid. It is a 4 door crew cab with a custom topper. Mechanic confirmed it was an excellent deal. Thanks for all the great knowledge you have shared over the years. God bless. ~ Pastor Nick, Blessed Road Ministry
You sir truly have a time capsule perfectly preserved
The 2005 or 2006 had a ton more power, better mpg, and better transmission (extra gear). After owning a 2004 and selling it and getting a 2005, no way I could ever go back. The whole setup difference is night and day. Also I have 276k on my 2005 and never had a single problem with it. If you ever need a new engine, swap to the 2005 or 2006 engine/trans and get the computer with it.
That's a score! It's just broken in.
Don't forget to replace the timing belt
Great deal, but 12 mpgs around town is a deal breaker for me.
I'd love me a little gas saving Toyota truck. I don't need all the fancy widgets and gadgets.
Even if it plays mariachi music when you start it?
Nobody does

The $10k Hilux Toyota makes for Thailand and other parts of Asia is a neat little bare bones truck but it would never pass EPA emissions or N.American safety standards.

No joke here, I recently saw a new Nissan SUV - sticker says $499.00 for premium floor mats. WTF.!!!
And the "get fucked" fee for $999.99
I bought a bare bones 2018 Taco in 2019 for under $22k, well below MSRP. People say they just want a basic truck but then no one buys them. My truck sat on the lot for a year because when people actually get to the dealership they want the bigger engine, leather seats, 4x4, nice wheels, crew cab, etc. No one wanted the white, four banger, extended cab, with no rear seat or key fob.
He keeps posting this $15,000 Toyota truck. It's not going to happen.
Bingo!
Agree,
Not in the US.
It will be too junk. They will do unibody shitbox clunker
They are working on the chicken tax issue. If that gets cleared the truck will be here and it sounds like maybe they got it done.
The best part is we all find out soon enough.
People want affordable small truck for daily use than bigger trucks that are use for construction.
I'm working security right now in a very rich area. HUGE TRUCKS EVERYWHERE 99% are the cleanest ever. And this area is RICH
Now don't get me wrong we all love the big trucks we just don't like the price tags that come out as much as a house all because of all the fancy touch screens tvs in th and heated seats and all that crap. Looking forward to seeing this new Toyota
The smaller trucks will work for nearly anything you wanna do as long as it's awd.
People do not want little Toyota trucks.
They want huge 4WD trucks so they can feel all powerful.
And the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia is happy!
@@jstravelers4094 Not THIS people.

Many Here Remember The Good Old Days Of Reasonably Priced Small Trucks
In Many Variations: Standard Or Extra Cab, Regular And Long Bed, 4 OR V6, 5 Speed Or Auto Trans, Locking 4WD Hubs, Plain Roll-Up Windows With Quarter Wind Vents.
The best auto I ever had was a 93 Nissan Hardbody that I kept for 13 years. Never stranded me or was in the shop for anything. Just get in and go. Wasn't super fast, but the 5 spd manual made it fun to drive . I all but abused it hauling everything you could imagine, got it stuck tons of time, never cost me but for gas/oil changes, tires/batteries. Too much driving along the beach ate up the subframe, my bad.
My 1998 base 2.4L Tacoma 143k miles keeps me smiling.
I have a 04’ Tacoma with over 200k. 4 x 4 extra cab, 2.7L. 3rd one I’ve owned and love it. Keep up with maintenance is the most important thing to do !
When Ford announced the Maverick they said 20k I've seen one at the dealership for over 40k today...(The Lariat) I'll believe 15k WHEN I SEE IT.
The 1st hybrids sold went for that then oversold, got marked up, now base I think isn't hybrid, went from 2.5 to 2, msrp 25g then markup.
Supposed to be $10k, but it's not sold in the USA, only Mexico. So don't get too excited. It's on the Hilux chassis.
LOL 15,000. That's not the one you get that one is never in stock. You get the 36000 dollar one.
More like 25k for a base model. 35k for something people will want.
Probably about right !!
Even that would be awesome in this car market
Watch the video on "Why we can't have small trucks anymore, blame the EPA"
I've seen it and it's complicated how our own government chased away a large market (small pick ups) from consumers. Emissions and EPA based on wheel base size--only our government could screw up like that. I'd love to have a new version of my old 93 Nissan Hardbody= 4 cylinder, 5 speed on the floor, best vehicle I ever owned.
Just travel to Mexico and get a 1999 Nissan D21 crewcab.
I blame cowardly Americans for allowing the EPA to set these expensive regulations!
Most people want/need just a simple little truck to run around town and haul stuff. If this truck comes out, yes it would sell like hot cakes and I may buy one myself!
Yeah I want a truck as a second vehicle because they’re handy as heck I usually rent one when I need one
Haul what a pack of gum?? Lol
If it comes out. I’m not holding my breath though, I’ll turn blue. I’ve been holding onto my 2005 Tacoma, because all the trucks now are pretending to be passenger cars. I’d want a living room on wheels for a truck. Give me something basic. Ditch the screen. A radio and a couple of knobs for the HVAC will do just fine.
Australia invented them in the early 20th century by doing exactly that. The are Utes short fir utility car. They are fantastic vehicles. Look up Holden Ute Australia and drool.

Thanks Scotty. But the Toyota Stout in N. America is a Myth. Legend. Sasquatches riding skittle-crapping Unicorns. $15,000?? lol
Ikr I was thinking at least double.
😂
it will sell fine at 25k ea.
Since Toyota likes to develop new products on current platforms, the Stout will either be a Corolla Cross/Corolla Hatchback with half the backseat and the trunk turned into a bed or a version of the Hilux they sell around the world. I can't imagine how they'll sell it for $15K if they don't use their cheapest platform and build it south of the border.
They've been talking about this truck for a while now, it started out at $10,000 by the time it get to the US it'll be 20-25,000. Watch and see.
You mean 30k everything is more than double price now lol
26 to 35
thank your politicians for spending 35 trillion they borrowed at interest. The dollar is becoming worthless.
The Ford Maverick is a fine example?
The new Tacoma starts at $43k, if the stout ever happens it’ll be in the $35k neighborhood.
Up here in Canada, the Maverick is the same price as the Ford Ranger! Ridiculous!!
Leave Canada now!!!!!! Before it's too late.
Toyota making a small pickup truck for $15K is pure fantasy. The base price of the new, 'made in Mexico' Tacoma is $31.5K. I will be surprised if the base MSRP of the Toyota Stout is less than $25K . . . then there are the requisite dealer markups.
By the time you buy it and pay for insurance and sales tax its a scam robbery where theyre selling you junk for too much
Exactly, more like 25k at best.
toyota already makes one and sells it. they just don't sell it in usa.
hilux champ starts at 13,611.57 usd in thailand right now. hilux revo starts at like 3k higher. this is like cash out the door pricing with the local dealer margin in it.

Well it´s from and for far east markets mainly and doesn´t look so fancy like the blue in Scotties picture. It is even cheaper there. Just see my posting in this regard below

If it is like the small ones back in the 80s it would be nice. Just make a truck with no frills just hand crank windows etc.
They could look like the 80s model Toyota pickups, at 15k i would definitely get one.
Scotty, they told us the Maverick would be under $20,000. Instead most are selling in the upper $30,xxx to mid $40,xxx

Indeed, seeing is believing. 👍🏻.
I've read where the Toyota Stout will only be available in the Asian and African markets. They don't want to offer it in the west because it would eat into their sales of the bigger pickups.
Of course. They can always count of Americans overspending on everything. The financing structures available in America allow us to get over our skis on almost all of our major purchases.
hilux champ starts at 13,611.57 usd in thailand right now. hilux revo starts at like 3k higher or so. toyota has had the hilux(revo) starting at like 17k usd all along. champ is the new cheapo model.
no because they are so different in all respects. No canibalizing.
The problem is the chicken tax and CARB. Both of which make it impossible to import affordable small trucks (or for that matter build affordable ones in the US). Again, the problem is the government. Not the dealers and not the manufacturers.
It could also be they don’t want to spend the $$ to certify the emissions and or crash worthiness doesn’t meet us specs.

Totally true about the diesel engines... Straight 6 will always outlast V6 & V8's. Ask any class 8 truck repair shop.
Don't even consider anything like a 4 cyl to power a full sized truck unless you want it to fail in spectacular fashion.

Solar panels in California and other renewable have cause an electric glut. They have more power generation than they can use. Why not generate your own of you can? You can power a whole house with 10 panels and sell the excess to the grid.
A “glut” is another word for inefficient.
$60k
@@TeddyRumble $60k for what?
As of May 2024, the average cost to install an 8-kilowatt (kW) solar panel system for a home in the U.S. is between $15,000 and $22,500 before incentives. After applying the 30% federal solar tax credit, the cost is between $10,500 and $15,750, but this doesn't include state rebates or incentives. The exact cost depends on the state, with price ranges in Florida from $17,120-$21,920.
8 Kwh is about 20 panels. So, if you mean $60,000 for it, you're way off.
I' m a retired roofing and siding guy. Those solar panels are mounted a couple of inches above the roof deck. If you get a leak in the roof you're screwed. Hundreds of fasteners to secure them. What could possibly go wrong. Love your channel Scotty!

If these manufacturers continue to jack with the designs, 4-6 cyl in a full size? Turbo? Get the hell outta here! They can eat em before Id buy one.
I worked in the power industry for 40 years - natural gas production, transmission, storage, and distribution, electric generation, transmission, and distribution.
Scotty is absolutely right about so called green energy. It’s very expensive if you could all of the true costs and I say so called green energy because it has a greater environmental impact than natural gas or clean coal.
Easy for solar photovoltaic panels to increase when building codes keep changing every day, with some states requiring new construction homes to be EV ready.
Calif, it HAS to be on the new house. By law. $50ķ
Toyota has stated many times they will not sell a vehicle that cheap in the USA. They see our average income as too high. They will be targeted toward the Philippines, Thailand, etc.

@@thatsoundsaboutright7483 Subaru's are fine.. the cabin's have more of a European flavor than Toyota or Nissan, they run forever if you take care of them, and they have the most simple bulletproof all wheel drive system of anyone. Cheap to buy, cheap for parts to fix. It's never broke in 14 years since we bought it new,. Yet, it doesn't do much for me. Wife likes it though and that makes it a great car.. :)
@@bkksw4731 that's valuable info. I have a budget of 40k and am looking for another vehicle that will put out. Wanted a new Tacoma but I'm not a fan of 4 cylinder engine pickups. Considered the Ridgeline but it's unibody build isn't very truck like. I want to buy American but none of them seem to be as reliable as the others.
@@bkksw4731 what did you mean about the worn down nubs and iridium? I'm ignorant of these things 😔...I don't have a mechanic background and it all sounds like another language.
@@thatsoundsaboutright7483 Iridium is the type of plug. They have copper, platinum, Iridium and others.. the electrodes are made of this material. By "nubs" I meant the electrodes.
My 98 B2500 still rolling just fine at 234000 miles.
Scotty where in RI? I’m from RI
I love your videos!!!!
I can look out my front door and see Three Mile Island. The worst nuclear reactor accident in the USA . They just shut it down last year. The problem was caused by operator errors. It ran for 45 years after the accident without any major problems.
I know it's called dumpling to crash the market.
I put solar on my house in California and my NET cost for panels and install was 13K. For the last nine years, my cost for electricity has been about 20 dollars a month (includes standby and true-up charges for the year) I broke even after the 6th year.
Correct, I went to a Toyota dealer 3 days ago to see if Toyota has any hybrid pick-up trucks. They had several huge F150 size trucks for over $75k. The smaller trucks were used, and they gave about the same MPG as the big ones. Tundra and Tacoma. Nothing comes close to the Maverick Hybrid (which Ford dealers do not sell immediately). Very occasionally I see a Maverick on the road. The city of Doral in South Florida has one, but I'm not sure.
12min of Scotty laying down FACTS!
They keep saying 15000 dollar last I heard it was up to 25000 not to far from the Tacoma price .
Actually, new Tacomas start at around $29k-$30k now. It's become almost a luxury vehicle.
Thanks scotty
