Trader Joes has been around for 40 years here in CA. I've got some inside scoop..... 75% of their products are made by natural and organic companies from the natural foods industry; ie: Amy's Kitchen frozen foods, Annies Mac n Cheese, Tofuti, Barbara's Bakery makes most of their crackers, etc......TJs slaps their cute labels on those products. You can find most of the exact items in WFMs and at natural/gourmet markets at a much higher price.

Love! Happy to see a lot of my TJ staples are Bobby approved. I'm a die-hard Aldi & Trader Joes shopper and I greatly appreciate you making these videos. You've gotten me reading labels more and more for my family!! Signed a WW member not Keto but either way into clean eating!!
I am so addicted to learning about what the best foods at local food stores. Unfortunately some people don't care. If the FDA put higher standards on what is allowed in food, our nation would be healthier.
I think you're looking at it the wrong way. Customers should KNOW BETTER and avoid the foods that are bad for us, thus forcing food producers to produce quality food via higher standards. There is no need to use a government institution as our babysitter, especially considering how prone to corruption any entity becomes with such regulating power. Don't forget that an educated populace is what generated demand for new brands that actually paid attention to health and ingredients.
None of our regulatory agencies are doing their jobs anymore. They are fully owned and controlled by the very corporations they were supposed to regulate. Funny how that happened and even funnier how no one gives a crap. That’s why there have been vaccines that were literally contaminated with broken glass. They have zero liability, why would they bother making them safe? And in the case of contamination, they don’t bother to pull product or notify the patients that received the contaminated batches. It’s a sad state of affairs, the greed has completely taken over the country.
I love you for what you have done to educate my family! I have 3 kids and a single mom and I have always read the labels even if I couldn't afford to buy the food. My kids never ate anything artificial, food coloring or bad oils. I send them all your blogs. But having you generously evaluate and EAT the fast food chains is genious! I am your biggest fan and can't thank you enough. You are amazing in every way.
I have learned so much about ingredients that I rather cook fresh things at home labels drive be crazy!!! Thanks for what you do I appreciate you guys!

Costco actually has good deals on organic produce, but it’s not practical to buy in bulk if you live alone. If you have time, gardening is a great way to grow your own stuff on the cheap.
Ashley Lala don't eat food from the dollar tree..... i went to trader joe's for the first time last week and found their prices to be surprisingly cheap! i didn't spend more than $2.99 for an item except meat
I must be the only one who doesn’t like the orange chicken. It’s not good. Only tried it once ages ago. A tip for the gnocchi, bake them. They come out way better baked.
Its been a long while since I bought this item but thought I might share what I did with it: cook chicken enough to really crisp it to hold up to sauce. Then add a bit of leftover cooked chicken ( not breaded ) to stretch the sauce thus its not overly sweet. Toss in some frozen sliced bell peppers ( also from Trader Joes, and frozen broccoli if desired . Pineapple works well in lieu of added veg ). Finally I would add either cashews or sprinkle sesame seeds over top before serving.

It's true. They make deals with makers to repackage it under their own label. The makers love the volume of products they can push. That's how they keep the prices down. In fact, that's how they grew their brand - "Trader". I found out long ago when they changed out my fav dark chocolate bar for their label.
Yes, Trader Joe’s is very upfront about this. You can listen to their podcast and they talk about it. That’s why their prices are so much better than Whole Foods

Hi Bobby, I've been following you for awhile. I have changed all of my eating habits and now for the first time in ages, I don't have any more Belly Pain! Thank you for all your videos and hard work.
So actually as someone who works at Trader Joe’s, actually none of the food as has added flavors, GMOs, MSG, nitrates, nitrites along with several other things.
Modified Corn Starch = MSG. MSG has a few different names to try and trick you. Also the term "Natural Flavors" is also bad for you. It only needs one natural thing in it and they can add 15 other synthetic ingredients as it is not regulated by the FDA.
@@Ronniethegoblin There are over 40 food ingredients besides "monosodium glutamate" that contain processed free glutamic acid (MSG). It basically has a strip of "peanut butter" in it, and the rest of the ice cream is legit flavorless with a horrible texture. I would absolutely pass on that product.
That’s how you guys should do your blogs when you’re being pushed in the shopping cart and you could talk about the food that way so you don’t get kicked out. Thanks
Love TJ's. They have some great foods that no other store has. PROBLEM: The one in my city periodically discontinues items, some of which I buy frequently.
I made creamy garlic scallops with white wine and added your recommended risotto with the riced cauliflower and butternut squash and it was AMAZING!!!!! Total Yum! I've missed risotto and this was better than the real thing IMHO. Thank you!

@Patricia Griffith Silly to say that as Bobby literally shut down most of the products in this video...so much for pushing their brands

sprinx99 always nice and helpful at the 3 TJ’s in my area.
@D B Same exact here in NYC
👀16:40 (Looks back at woman) - "Let me just take a peek at those GLUTES!!!!" 😂
I like that you go through the frozen pizza, rice, meals etc.
That’s how you guys should do your blogs when you’re being pushed in the shopping cart and you could talk about the food that way so you don’t get kicked out. Thanks
Thank you for the interesting perusal through the frozen food aisle!
Thanks so much for these videos! Very helpful for shopping and also to learn more about labels! Great job guys!
You are so great at what you do!!!❤️❤️❤️
I loveeeee this tea spillage
Love TJ's. They have some great foods that no other store has. PROBLEM: The one in my city periodically discontinues items, some of which I buy frequently.
I know this may not be the best review to ask for, but can you do a review on candy, gum, mints, etc.? Thanks!
good idea!
Great video as always. Could you do a video on frozen food at Costco? We don’t have Trader Joe in Canada.
I made creamy garlic scallops with white wine and added your recommended risotto with the riced cauliflower and butternut squash and it was AMAZING!!!!! Total Yum! I've missed risotto and this was better than the real thing IMHO. Thank you!
You are so educational. Doing the work for me. Thank you. Can you make a video on kids foods? Like juices, snacks etc?
🤔💭17:16 Wait...So taking pics for a blog is okay, but video for a TH-cam is not?!?!
The whole time I watched this I was hoping you didnt get caught! Thank you for the information.
You make it so easy to understand what's good and bad without over explaining. Thank you for sharing and helping us stay healthy!
Such a great video thanks for all your hard work Bobby and art !
Do you have a video on healthy low sodium options for food at trader joe's? Love your videos!
I don't buy anything until Bobby approved
woo-hoo!
My favorite seasoning at Trader Joe’s is the chili lime seasoning.
If we listen to everything bobby says we'll be broke and starving.
Aisha12 But healthy
You either have to be a rite aid pharmacy, Modena, Johnson and Johnson or other corporate CEO bitch!!! To afford...these products.
This guy is making a killing on his videos and cook book...price is not an obstacle when it comes to food choices.
Employees who work there get Minimum wage!!! Minimum!!!
Who packs these stores the frenzied Asian... grab and plop into carts irregardless of price!
