ABOUT THE ARTIST:
This is my student, Broadway's Bryonha Marie Parham. Best known for her appearances on Broadway in THE BOOK OF MORMON, AFTER MIDNIGHT (Featured, performed Guest Star track), PORGY AND BESS (Serena) and RAGTIME (Sarah's Friend), Bryonha is also renowned for her interpretation of Effie in DREAMGIRLS (Fulton Opera House, North Shore Music Theater, Maine State Theater). A versatile singer, Bryonha has performed with the New York Philharmonic in SWEENEY TOOD (Beggar Woman, double-cast with Audra McDonald), SHOW BOAT (Rehearsal and Performance Cover for Vanessa Williams), RAGTIME, and has performed Bernstein's MASS with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Bryonha studies an essentially operatic development in regard to technique, with great attention spent on making the sound "open" without antagonistic muscular effort, allowing the voice to "mix" or coordinate correctly in balanced registration to adapt to different styles and genres. We aggressively work each new style to maintain technical foundation and stylistic integrity. Bryonha sings skillfully and authentically in everything from opera to hip hop. Her next Broadway appearances will be in PRINCE OF BROADWAY.
